5 reviews for Ballinger Lakes Golf Course
We actually had a great time here last weekend, but it's not quite worth 4 stars (3.5 in my opinion). Anyway, I like this course because:
1. Sometimes you just want to play 9 holes.
2. Each time I've been here it hasn't been crowded and you feel like you're the only group playing here.
3. After the 6th hole, you can restock your beer at the clubhouse.
The course was a bit wet and the bunkers were overgrown with grass. But I think for the price they charge, this is a great course to enjoy casually with your friends. It's also very easy to get to from I-5 and a short 20 minute drive from Seattle.

I went here yesterday after work with some friends for a quick 9. The location is perfect, right in my hood in the terrace. The place is no nonsense basic clubhouse and course. The staff is very friendly and the the other golfers after us and before us were pleasant as well, everyone just having a good time. I read other reviews about this place being soggy, good thing I came on a nice sunny evening and it was just fine with a few wet spots here and there. But I can understand what they are saying, this place is not the best to play after a heavy rainfall as I can imagine it would be difficult. Lake Ballinger is surrounding the course which gives you a great view on several holes. I will actually be going back for a full 18 (2 times around the 9holes) tomorrow morning. Great prices that can't be beat in the area. Nice place to give a try when its dry.
For a sub-par experience come here.... Bwahahahahhhhh......
Actually, I'd consider this a Executive long-ish Nine course. It's fun, it's decently priced and I love shooting over the water on the dog-leg left hole.
The Club house is beautiful and the food at a wedding we attended here was pretty darn good.
-1 star for the HUGE bird-poop on my car! Oh, and don't play this course during the rainy season, it sucks....

For a public course, its really squishy. This course is built on a swamp, so even in the dryest season (which, anyone in the Seattle area will tell you is 2 weeks in August) it's muddy. The fairways are slick, but the greens are fast.
The clubhouse, or "shack" as I like to call it, is not air-conditioned in the summer and not really heated in the fall. The guy who took our fees was kind of, well a dick. I wanted to share my bf's clubs (mostly so I didn't have to carry my own) and was told that the rules of the course stated that each golfer had to have their own bag. I responded that I'm not much of a golfer, so I didn't think I needed a bag, hence the sharing. I ended up with my own bag.
There was a vicious attack cat on the 4th green who chased our balls from the rough onto the green and into the hole. Great entertainment for those of us who aren't serious about the golf; frustrating for the others who came to play. A large gaggle of geese were chillin on the 5th fairway; after my one good shot a large and limping goose walked towards my ball as if to pick it up. I made several threatening sounds and gestures to scare him away. His mournful honking screwed up my chip onto the green and I cursed him roundly.
So, to summarize: Wet and muddy, full of wildlife, mostly for those who have no idea what they're doing.
Very wet. Course doesn't drain worth a crap. Clubhouse building is dilapidated and not kept up very well. Pro shop lacks for selection and help. Really not a good course, unless you're a beginner and don't notice the lack of any quality overall.
Good ghetto course.
