Review from Ian W.
This review is for the ice cream and sandwich takeout windows, which are attached to Ballard's Novelty & Party Shop. Ballard's Ice Cream is a great place to bring the family for cool treats on a hot day or night! There's a small play area for the kids too!
Boy, the present access to Ballard's is really messed up if you're coming from Downtown because you cannot make southbound left turns from Broadway into Ballard's and there's no good place to turn around. Locals will drive around a triangular park to get to Ballard's. The City should build that roundabout, which they keep talking about.
Once at Ballard's, get ready to enjoy some really great tasting ice cream treats at pretty reasonable prices including a good sized kiddie cone with hard ice cream at $2.00 even. They offer over 50 flavors of hard ice cream plus soft serve flavors by Weeks, sundaes, mixers, shakes, frappes, floats, smoothies, and slushes. Sugar free and soy flavors available. Some tempting special treats offered are the Rice Krispie Super Treat, Chocolate Chip Cookie Treat, Vanilla Wafer Treat and the Smores Sundae, which are priced at $4.17 plus tax.
They also sell sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, chili, salads, and tacos. See the menu offerings at http://www.iballards.c... Note actual prices vary at the counter (ie.3 scoop hard ice cream sundae is $3.93 plus 8 percent tax equals $4.25).
I've stopped here after work for ice cream. My favorite flavors are the Purple Cow, Road Runner Raspberry, Cappucino Crunch, and Freedom of Espresso. For peanut butter fanatics, the Funny Bones Peanut Butter Bonanza ($5.09 plus tax) is the ultimate treat, which has 2 chilled Drakes Funny Bone cakes laid out in a banana boat with peanut butter cup ice cream covered in peanut butter sauce, topped with whipped cream, peanut butter chips, and a cherry on top, sweet yummo!
I only wished that I worked closer to Ballard's, so I could have ice cream at very fair prices for lunch.

Review from Erin H.
I have never had the food from Ballard's, but I have been in the costume shop, and it's more than a costume shop, it's a party shop, it's a Birthday shop, it's a fun shop, it's a silly shop :)
This place is like a privatized iParty, but nicer and with more unique items (and not to mention inexpensive!! woo hoo).
My cousin, who I visit very frequently lives in Allenstown, and I take the Bus into Concord, so this place is just a few minutes drive from Main street, and worth the while even to stop in and check out their elaborate costume displays! -

Concord, NH
Ballards has the best icecream in the South End of Concord. And they make wonderful sandwiches for reasonable prices also. I highly recommend them for a quick sandwich and icecream on the go. And they have tables and a play area for children also.
