The mushroom soup is what I look forward to when we stop into this eatery while visiting family in the area. It's always very good and a must try when you come here.
I've had the crab cake and hamburger, both solid and well cooked. This past Friday I had the chicken and pasta special. It was very tasty and included locally grown mushrooms and fresh spinach in a light cream sauce. The pasta wasn't cooked to my liking, it was a bit too al dente.
It would have been a nice night to eat outside, but the patio area was closed for a private party. We've eaten outside before and it is very nice and relaxing.
There was live music that night by local artist Kenny. He did a number of Simon and Garfunkel covers and was OK. He had his speaker tuned way too loud for the small setting and the muzak was not turned off during his performance which was strange.
Overall, good dining experience and we will return. -

Okay bar food. The quality seems to have dropped off over the last couple of years. The atmosphere is nice and you have a view of the scenic course from the window or when the weather is nice from their outside eating area. My two recent visits merited two rating on food and service. I gave it w three based on atmosphere and one great meal awhile back.

Life long resident of Checster County, PA. Built Wyncote Golf Club in 1992 and opened in 1993. Was rated the third best new course in America by Golf Digest. Built the clubhouse in 2000. The Ball & Thistle Pub was rated by Philly Golf Radio as the best restaurant associated with a golf course.
