Of the (many) places I rented Tuxedos in the city this is the best experience. Fast, same day turnaround, home delivery and pick up (!), reasonable prices. no bogus charges. Most of all: clean suits that don't make you feel you are in a thrift shop

We had a photo shoot scheduled for one of our clients and we needed a quality suit last minute, tailored and ready to go asap.

Baldwin did get the suit fitted, tailored and in our possession within two hours- but they did not do a stellar job. The sleeves were way too short for our model (whom they measured). We had to do some tricks of the trade to make it work, but at the end of the day the mistake should have never happened.

My advice to you, try on the suit before you leave, even after it's fitted. Unfortunately we didn't have that luxury since we brought the suit to the model on the set.

There was a little bit of confusion about my husband and Baldwin Formals about what needed to be done to secure the tux rentals for our wedding party.

I'm sure some of it was attributed to my husband and I, but their reservations procedure is a little confusing.  My father in law left a credit card to secure the reservation of his tux and his family's tuxes, but not the whole order.  Baldwin's policy is to have a credit card to secure the whole order, then they will start to order the tuxes.  I don't know if that policy was made clear to my father in law or my husband, but it ended up in me being more involved in the tuxes than I really wanted.

I got a call the week before the wedding asking when we were ordering our tuxes.  I thought that we had already done it, and was confused as to why they needed yet another credit card to secure the order.  I was probably not very nice to the person had called on the phone, as I was really stressed dealing with other details regarding the wedding.

Regardless, the tuxes looked great the day of the wedding, and fit everyone really well.  No rips, tears or stains on any of the tuxes.

We chose Baldwin because they had a warehouse on site, and we had a few people coming in from out of town in our bridal party that wouldn't have time to exchange a tux if it was wrong prior to the wedding.

Couldn't ask for more from a tuxedo place.  Friendly service, good selection, and FAST.

You need it for tomorrow?  No problem.
You want to phone in your measurements?  No problem.
You need it delivered?  No problem.
You don't want to walk over there to return it?  No problem.

If you need a tux in a hurry,  this is the place.

This is where my husband and groomsmen got their tuxedos.  Everyone there was so helpful.

Compared to other couples, I think we were in and out pretty quickly, though poor Jason had to try on a number of tuxedos.  We ended up choosing a black cutaway for our daytime wedding.  All of our groomsmen were coming in from out of town and their alterations and rentals were handled without any trouble.

Baldwin Formals will also pick up the tuxes from a number of hotels, so no one has to worry about lugging them back to the their midtown location.

Fantastic place to rent a tuxedo.

I was in town for a wedding and had no idea where I was going to get a tuxedo as I found out last minute it was black tie.

I submitted my measurements online at their website and they perfectly explained how to take the measurements.

When I picked up the tuxedo it fit perfectly.  Everyone there was so helpful.

I highly recommend them.  The total price was 175 and they can drop it off and pick it up from anywhere.  You can't ask for much more than this.

The guy that helped me was Joey Schmidt.  I would recommend him.  He was very very helpful.

Absolutely terrific experience.  Went in to grab a Tux on Wednesday afternoon, and it was delivered to my apartment the next morning.  I get to keep it for 4 days and the whole shebang is $200 (I got a CK tux, shirt, studs, cufflinks, bowtie, formal shoes).

Salesman was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, warm and effective.  They have a good selection in a range of prices (I went high-end), they hem the pants for you, and they deliver and pick-up to your door.  They even threw in two bowties -- one legit, one clip-on...just in case I couldn't figure out the real-deal (they said they always do this because everyone says they'll figure it out and nobody actually does ;)

They offer 2-hour service for an extra $25 and 30-minute service for an extra $50 -- so if you get that last-minute invite to the British Embassy Gala, Baldwin will have you covered ;)

    Definite five-star experience.

I ordered my tuxes from here for my wedding last year and they were wonderful. Everything was ready as expected, and my tux (the groom's) was free! You can't beat that!

I appreciated all the different styles that they offered, as well as working with my out-of-town groomsmen who sent in their measurements via the website.

I can't speak for the actual renting experience but I am reviewing their accommodating service for walk-ins.

I called in ahead to ask if I could get my measurements and was told I could drop by anytime. I came by one evening and a gentleman, Sam, was called over to take my measurements. He took me towards the back by the fitting rooms, taking my measurements and jotting it down on a card. He didn't pressure me all into renting a suit from them, and answered all my questions I had about the different types of fabrics found on tuxedos/suits. He even took the time to let me feel the different types of fabrics as well as taking me to the back room to explain all the different types of tuxedo shoes (which were cheap quality, well-made, etc.). When we were finally on our way out, all he said was that if I we are ever looking to attend a formal, to please come back to Baldwin Formals. Unpretentious, patient, and courteous, though a bit quirky, I will keep Baldwin Formals in my bookmarks if I ever am in the need for a tuxedo/suit rental.

Have to give my man, Joey Schmidt, big kudos for setting me up with a tux, no hassle service and efficient. Got everything under a half hour and prices range from $100-300 depending on your choices. they also provide delivery/pick-up service for a $10 fee.

No other place to go if you're in need of tux last minute to that soiree you've decided to crash or if you just didn't read the invitation carefully in my case.

Very easy pickup (once they have your measurements, assuming you haven't balooned up over time), and drop off is a breeze.  Always curteous and prompt.  Pricey, though, and I think for the amount of time I've used these guys I probably should have just bought a tux myself...

If I could put zero stars I would..  My fiance rented a tuxedo from them for a friends wedding, the item they gave him was dirty, torn and not usable.  When we contacted them to complain they were of no use.  I would NOT recommend this place to anyone and have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as a result.  I understand you are not purchasing a fresh item with a rental but for health and sanitary reasons the items need to be cleaned and clearly when there a place-cards and napkins in the pants pocket of the suit the item has not been cleaned -gross.

Baldwin's staff took care to get me the tuxedo I needed in the right fit, but didn't waste any time.  They have a decent selection of standard tuxes, not that there's a huge amount of variance.

The tux was fine; nothing remarkable, but I got exactly what I expected.  They dropped it off and picked it up at my office in midtown with no trouble, and were very nice when I realized I'd forgotten to return the cummerbund with the garment bag when they picked it up.

Prices seemed reasonable - I think I paid about $180 for everything but shoes (which I didn't need to rent).

Overall, very low-hassle and I got and paid what I had expected.

I recently had to rent a tuxedo from Baldwin Formals for a wedding.  The tuxedo was ready on time and looked good with the jacket on and buttoned.  However, the shirt they gave me was an ugly piece of crap made for a 250 lb man.  It was enormous, boxy, and (obviously) fit terribly.  In addition, one of the buttons near the bottom had fallen off before I received the shirt, and the holes for the studs were extremely worn out, so much so that the studs barely stayed in.  All in all, I was disappointed by the quality of the clothing (esp given the price).

The folks here are serious about tuxedos.  They got me in and out in record time, did the tailoring work beautifully (even added suspender buttons for me), and had it ready when promised.  Top notch.  (hah - a tuxedo joke).  I bought mine, by the way, and they had a nice assortment of styles.  There is none better - staff, tailors, etc.

go elsewhere.  despite them measuring me TWICE and trying on mutliple shirts there, nothing fit and I had to buy my own tux shirt elswhere AFTER spending $200 on a rental.  somehow, everyone else in the bridal party spent $50-75 less on the same rental.  Baldwin majorly screwed me.  i will rent elsewhere next time.
