I came to this webpage to find the exact address to tell a friend to meet me here, and I was shocked to read some nasty comments here. I feel like the nasty comments tell more about the person who was writing them, than about the diner.
The diner is fine. It's a diner, what you would expect to find in a diner. Calm, simple atmosphere. Plain food. I like french fries. But I don't usually order that :-) I prefer plain chicken or fish, salad with oil and vinegar on the side, baked tato ~
because I like to be able to sign my emails: Real-Eye-Able.
But I could order yummy fries and cakes if I chose to do that.

You know the food is bad when you go to a place while you're drunk and you leave feeling like you've had a hangover.
I understand it's a diner but by the same token they should then understand that I pay with real money and not monopoly dollars. When I was learning how to cook during my first year of college my mistakes were better than what this place serves as food and expects people to pay for. I don't expect cheese fries to be served as slices of partially melted Kraft cheese thrown over partially cooked french fries. On the same note, I like my hamburgers not to come out as if they had been shaken violently in between the thong strings of a very big clumsy erotic dancer.
It's truly tragic when White Castle is an ideal option to what should be edible diner food and in most cases it is, however that doesn't apply to Baldwin Coach Diner.
The only reason I give this place one star is because the people who work there are so ridiculously kind. It's probably the only reason why I haven't sued them for attempted murder because eating there is nothing short of criminal. -

Walked out before even trying the food. Me & my husband are always driving by this place, so monday night we decided to stop in and try a bit. there were maybe only 5 other tables seated, We waited for 15 min and no waitress ever came t take our order. however the table across from us who walked in 10 min after we did, had there order placed and by the time the second waitress came by and asked them if someone had gotten their order in my husband was furious. the second waitress before leaving the dining room did give me & my husband a glance but then proceeded to walk out. (been almost 15 min that we were seated at that point) (still not even a drink order in)
So my husband pulled out his iphone looked up Diners and we found a place with good reviews The Imperial just a few blocks away. so we got up gave the wait staff a nasty look and proceeded to the next diner. Which btw was very busy, but we had our drinks appetizers and orders all within under 15 min. lol i think it was bc the waitress saw she was dealing with a very pregnant and hungry woman at that point. The imperial diner was one of my fave diner experiences EVER! hands down recomend going there 5 out of 5 times over this poop hole of a place. (btw old timers seem to love the baldwin coach) ( AND IM SIGNING UP JUST TO LEAVE THIS BAD REVIEW... but then may go leave a good one at imperials..) -

It's nickname is the Baldwin Roach. Definitely not the cleanest place but if you stick with something simple, it's decent enough. It's cheap and good for late night (post-bar) meals.

Our waitress was so nice and helpful. Ordered the stuffed clams. They were good and "huge". We also ordered the stuffed shrimp dinner. Same stuffing as the clams. Yummy "diner food" and great service makes me give this place 4 stars. I would go here again.

I give this place 4-stars, because unlike other diners, I know what I go to a diner for, I either go for breakfast, sandwiches, and burgers. If you set out to go to the diner to have a pasta or meatloaf dinner than do yourself a favor and just stay home! I think we need to rate places in terms of what their purpose is, this place doesn't go out of its way to advertise its Salmon special or pot roast dinner, because they know, that you know what you walked in there for. Their french toast is great, and the eggs always hit the spot. My husband loves their corned beef hash. They're burgers are always fresh and cheap. My husband and I can both eat here and spend less than $20 and that's with a tip!

I want to give the food 2 stars, but the service is 4 stars, so I'll settle on 3.
It's a diner; there's nothing at all special about it. The food is kind of bad but not 1-star-worthy, and everyone that works there is really sweet.
It's a neighborhood place. All the old people know all the waitresses, I was the youngest person in here by at least 50 years when I went in for breakfast on a Monday, and the food is cheap enough.
If you're looking for a greasy spoon breakfast or a quick sit down lunch, it's perfect. I don't think anyone is going here expecting 5 star food and service, so this is generally perfect for a diner going crowd. It's miles ahead of Mitchell Diner in Oceanside. -

Throwback 50s diner. Always great for a quick or extended breakfast, snack or meal. Fresh pastries, solid food, and a jukebox at every table in the counter area. Waitress are friendly. Haven't eaten dinner here, but have large menu of typical diner fare.

Good and cheap food. The service is sometimes better than other times but still good food.

There wasn't anything distinctive about this place -- the food was OK, but not worth a return visit.

The diner time forgot. If you like the smell of moth balls and barbisol, then you will love it. Don't ever get the orange juice, its not quite liquid or solid.
