Great beach for going for a run or for walking the dog. The morning or evening are generally the best times to go because the trade winds have a tendency to come up in the afternoon. Plenty of space to spread out and find your own spot if you want to.

Gorgeous park - my friend loves this place and I wish I had gone here every day when I was in Maui - it was very relaxing and beautiful. There is a small lagoon like an olympic sized pool (maybe bigger) that is great for having a swim.
Topless is an option but custom dictates you throw a towel over your boobies as families with small children walk by lest they be scarred for life seeing your nipples (or maybe it's the dad that is the issue?). -

Baldwin Beach is beautiful, no doubt. We met up with some friends there who grew up upcountry & they come to baby beach frequently.
However, the weird weather & currents created a steep embankment a good length of the beach. That made it difficult for small children to play, even toward baby beach. It was quite a bit windier than south Maui this time of day, but the north shore is just windier - thus the reputation for being such a great windsurf spot. We left just before noon when it started to get busier, but the morning was nice & low key. -

Baldwin Beach is a very attractive beach located just outside of Pa'ia town. It has a bit of a reputation for being unsafe, due to the large number of party-crazed locals who always hang out here, but I think that reputation is completely undeserved. However, it wouldn't hurt to lock your car while it's in the parking lot, as per the posted signs.
Although the restrooms always seem closed, there are lifeguards on duty. This is a popular spot for surfing as well as swimming. The view of Wailuku and the backside of West Maui is spectacular on a clear morning. The light here in late afternoon is also particularly beautiful. However, it can get extremely windy. You feel like you are being sandblasted, sitting in your beach chair.Listed in: Everything MAUI

Baldwin Beach is a great option on the North Shore. It's close to Paia and convenient for people who live Upcountry or North Shore. There's a large parking lot with an occasional shady spot or two.
It's a white sand beach - the sand isn't as soft as you'd find in Kihei for example, but it's still pretty good. It's a great beach for running up and down if you want a little exercise.
At the west end of it is Baby Beach - a long stretch of lava rock just a few feet offshore breaks the waves and creates a calm pool for swimming.
Baldwin beach is a great place to spend and hour or two in the afternoon, or to spend a whole afternoon. Sometimes it gets a little too windy, but usually it's pretty nice. Great for people watching too. -

Just gorgeous! We found this place by accident on the way to Paia Fish Market and ended up spending the morning and part of our afternoon here. You won't really find tourists here, which i liked, and the locals added an interesting mix. They aren't rude or anything, they just like to stare but you are half naked at the beach anyway. it was expected.
just check out the picture, it speaks for itself. sigh :) so pretty. -

This little white beach is awesome. It gets a little windy, but it's very relaxing and great for picnics under the shade of a tree. Baldwin is popular with locals and tourists alike, but feels like a sleepy little secret.
