Jessica and Fran! You two are so sweet! Enjoyed meeting you today!

    Ok so about the wines:

Love love love the chardonnay - bright and clean on the nose, but creamy and smooth finish. Affordable, too!

Enjoyed the Fraternity and the Malthilde Pinot ;-)

Happy to join the club, see you in a couple of weeks!

This was the first stop on our wine tour and Mike was amazing. He was extremely patient when answering the million questions we had and obviously very knowledgeable not only about the vineyard but the history of Napa. During our trip we visited 6 wineries and Baldacci was definitely the most educational.
I am not sure if we received such personalized attention because it was 10:30 on a Wednesday morning but regardless I highly recommend Baldacci (the wines are also great....we ended up with a case)

No tour just an informal tasting in the tasting room with a friendly tasting room representative by prior appointment.

The GEWURZTRAMINER ($22.00) was exceptional and the IV SONS CABERNET ($35.00) was great find at that price point.

We were here on a weekday and the place was empty. It is a pretty small place and the pourer spent a good amount of time with us. We enjoyed the experience and the wines, but it is an average stop.

The wine, however, is not average... their Cab is one of my favorite in the entire Valley.

Okay, yes, the Chardonnay was pretty bomb. I almost considered it at $38, but even that seemed a little steep for what it was. A slice of bread would have been in order to soak up all that buttery flavor.

Their reds were super tannic and bitter. I'm sure the flavor palate will improve with time, but there are definitely better options out there. As a relatively broke-ass teacher, I'm not necessarily in the market for wines that are going to sit in my (non-existent) wine cellar for the next 20 years while their flavors develop. Maybe 5 years tops. And that's only if my students behave themselves.

Their vines are relatively new (most have been replanted within the last 20 years) which, to me, makes their wines a little less complex and the finish a little less memorable.

Service was fine, but nothing to write home about. If there wines were about $10 less per bottle, I may have bought a bottle of the Chardonnay. Considering there reds were all around $40, I'd much rather spend that at a place like Talty or Windsor Oaks for sure.

My boy friend introduced me to this winery, and this is a "must visit" whenever we're in Napa.

First thing first, the wine is magnificent!!  The '08 Gewurztraminer goes really well with Asian food.  '07 Mathilde Pinot Noir is one of the best Pinot I have ever had.  '07 Allwin Syrah has such rich flavor with a black tea finish that I LOVE!!  IV sons cab is the type of cab you can drink everyday, it's easier on the wallet as well.  :)

Another great thing about Baldacci is the friendly staff.  They are really friendly and down to earth people.  Definitely worth the trip if you're in Napa!

Sunday, have some time to kill before flight home. this was close.  we arrived before she opened. we Waited around outside taking pictures.  She (wish I got her name) was very helpful and walked us through wines as she was opening up, felt bad we showed up so early.  But she engaged us and loved everything we tasted.Whats not to love when Rolando touches it?   ended up bringing home half a case.

I will never forget the Baldacci label because of their Pinot Noir. I would recommend going to Baldacci just to have the 2006 Mathilde Pinot Noir.

I'm not a huge Pinot Noir fan, but this is the BEST Pinot Noir I've ever had. It doesn't drink like a traditional Pinot because it's full body and has great complexity with a nice smooth finish. I love it. It's hard to justify paying $55 a bottle for Pinot, but in this case, every cent is worth it.

Pros: Cool little patio with a great view to drink wine, friendly staff (Jessica was really nice and informative), nice size pours and you can spin the bottle for a prize.

Cons: The other wines were better then fair, but I thought their Cabs were kind of expensive.

Overall: If you want to check out a smaller winery in Napa, I strongly recommend visiting Baldacci Family Vineyards.

    They do a lovely job.

We sat out on the patio last Saturday and went through all the wines. The reserve pinot is stellar, along with all the cabernet choices.

I made a darling friend, Libby the dog. I was told she is 11 years old but she hops up onto the concrete fence surrounding the patio like nothin'. She also knows how to very cutely beg for snacks.

We met some super nice folks at the tables next to us, we got to snack on fleur de sel chocolate, olives, sesame covered cashews from Trader Joe's, and chocolate cake from Bouchon bakery. What nice neighbors we had!

The gent pouring for us was real nice, and down to earth. *thumbs up*

Whenever it's the first stop on massive wine tasting with a group of 9 - it's hard to say it was the one that blew you away, always.  You're bound to not spend money until the 3rd or 4th winery due to wanting to taste more before you buy. But let me tell you, they set the tone just damn right.

A month ago, we made Baldacci the first for the day, had an awesome mutt on board to say hi to and were super awesome enough to give us a complimentary wine tour of the caves. Which sat well with my group, who'd never been on one before and elsewhere were booked or being asked to cough up $50 so I didn't book. I appreciate the last minute courtesy and thought they were extremely polished and wonderful to visit.

The wines we had were great, although we felt like they had maybe taken one or two off the menu for the day because of the weather and availability. I only mention because one of my group persons mentioned that they should have had a white wine to taste instead of all reds. I think there was some specific reason why, but I can't recall and I prefer reds over whites any day, so no complaints from me!

For a smaller, family style stop, I'd recommend. Big groups are hard, but they managed to pull off flawlessly.

The Baldacci Vineyard was one of my favorite stops on our winery tour of Napa. We arrived just as they were finishing up bottling in a couple very large trailers located on the driveway. While the sound of their generators filled the air, we ran by them into the cool air conditioned tasting room. Our host Mike, introduced us to the vineyard, the family, and their offering of wines. We started the tasting inside but eventually moved to the outside patio after the bottling trucks left.

We had the outdoor patio to ourselves and enjoyed the last few of our tastings before Mike asked us if we'd like to tour the cave. Of course we said. He walked us through the lower part of the vineyard up to the entrance of the cave. I wasn't quite sure what to expect inside the cave but as he told us it would be very cool inside. And it sure was. He walked us through the cave and we stopped a few times to admire the brand new barrels and take a sniff inside a couple. We learned a lot on this tour and also that the wait for a new cave to be built in Napa is several years.

After touring the cave, Mike brought us back into the tasting room where we purchased a bottle of the IV Sons Cabernet Sauvignon for our dinner later in the evening. I just love that wine! I would definitely stop by here again during my next visit to Napa!

What is special about Baldacci's is that you can take a cave tour because many wineries don't provide tours for them. I took my own personal cave tour because they weren't available to show me around (shh!) - they didn't lock the doors!

The winery was pretty and the service was extremely friendly. They have some outdoor seating with umbrellas, so this is another nice place to picnic at. Nothing stood out too much for me here, but I do remember running into one of the Baldacci family members in the tasting room. They really do have bright red hair!

Our group of eight made a scheduled stop here midweek during our recent trip to Napa. We were met by the dog, Libby and our gracious host Mike.

Since it was a beautiful day, we conducted the tasting outside on the patio. The wines were very nice, generous pours and Mike even allowed us to revisit a second pour for the ones we liked. I purchased the Elizabeth Pinot Noir, and a Chardonnay.

Mike then brought us on an impromptu cave tour, which was a nice added bonus. The ground are lovely, the wine good and our host Mike was very pleasant and informative.

A great stop heading up the Silverado Trail.

The Baldacci Vineyard is absolutely beautiful. Their grounds are breathtaking, their wine is tasty and the folks at Baldacci are warm and welcoming. We were told about Baldacci by our innkeepers at the Inn on First, and were very happy we dropped by.

I would recommend Baldacci to anyone visiting Napa and hoping for an intimate and rewarding experience.

    I love this place!

I am absolutely in love with their Four Sons Cab.  A wonderful wine at a decent price.  Their Elizabeth Syrrah (all their wines are named after family members) has been very hit-and-miss for me.  I've bought several bottles, some have been good, at least one was awful (but not corked, so I don't know what the problem was).  If the tasting room is full (which happens occasionally), you can sit on the patio outside and someone will bring the wine out to you.  How great is that?

A relaxed, enjoyable tasting at a nice winery staffed by friendly folks and family owned.  What more are you looking for?

Liked so much on my first visit that I joined their wine club.   I have been to two wine club member events and enjoyed them both.  They really seem to care about their wine club family.  I think their IV Sons Cab is a great value but they are phasing out this wine.   Pinot Noir is very nice as well.

Wasn't the friendliest of tasting rooms we visited that day, but I think it was just a bit overwhelming, so i'm not docking major points, they warmed up after a while. Plus the tasting room was dog friendly and my hott mutt was psyched to lay down and snooze on the cold tile floor.

They told our B&B to have us just "drop by" after a big group was finished, which we did, but I think a lot of other people were told that as well. It was a very hot weekend and their patio was packed (would definitely recommend). They are appointment only, technically speaking.

Support a family-owner winery and check this place out!

This was our first stop of the day. The hostess was really nice and friendly, and patient with our large group. She gave us great advice on where else we should go tasting in the area. The pinot noir turned out to be my favorite wine of the day, and a big hit amongst my friends.

They have tables outside on the patio where you can taste or enjoy a glass, and a nice (but small) tasting room inside.

Also, mention if you're there for a special occasion - she waived our tasting fees for my friend's birthday!

This is a family run, smallish winery located in the Stags Leap district of Napa. I really enjoyed the wines here. I really loved the atmosphere... smallish tasting room with a patio area furnished with comfortable tables with umbrellas. The sommelier came to us outside and was very well informed on the wine varietals. She spent a lot of time with us.  I liked that while we were sitting outside we were surrounded by vines. I will say that I enjoyed the Four Sons more than the new Fraternity. I truly enjoyed the experience of Baldacci.

We visited a couple wineries in the Stag Leap's District, our first stop was at Baldacci Vineyards. I had made a 12pm tasting appointment here after all that olive oil tasting we had done, I was ready to drink some wine. We had a great time here, sampled wonderful wines, and bought the 4 Sons Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2005 Black Label - Jessica was wonderful in every way, we'll be adding this to our local stops on every Napa trip! A beautiful vineyard with great wines...can't wait to come back!

Thanks again for the tip about the "other" wineries...I highly prefer french barrelled wines versus American barrelled wines....you can taste the difference!!

This was a great wine tasting winery! The staff is very very friendly! You should definitely stop by to try the chardonnay and pinot made from their family vineyard. The outdoor patio was really pretty. This is great for couples or big groups. The cellar was closed but from the pictures it looks like awesome and we will return again! We used the Yelp discount which was great if you are looking for something affordable.

What can you say about this treasure in the Stags Leap area right off Silverado Trail?  How about...its AWESOME!!!   First, the people.  Debi, Mike, Aaron, Jessica, and Erin--all super helpful and seem to really enjoy what they do.   The wines are fantastic--from the Ruppert (yummmmy), to the IV sons, and of course the pinot's and estate cab's.   Did i leave out the yummy allwin and Gertz!   Great place, great people, you should definately stop in and load up the car else you might offend the gods of the grape!!

I came across this winery while browsing online for a few to visit this weekend, and all I can say is YES! We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting, for which Erin patiently and sincerely hosted, along with a sweet young man, whose name escapes me now. We each had the tasting with the four wines, which we got a 2 for 1 deal on, after mentioning that we saw it on Yelp. Both of our servers were informative and truly friendly with us, which is probably the #1 reason we bought two bottles, aside from the fact that the IV Brothers Cabernet and the Brenda's Vineyard  are fantastic. Frankly, I was shocked that my hubby bought a wine that costs over a hundred dollars, but it really was near perfect cab that made us weak in the knees. Erin gave us a bonus pour of this one, which was a wise decision, since we fell in love with this wine and had to have a bottle.
I recommend this winery to couples and very small groups (it's a tiny tasting room) who appreciate great wine in a comfortable, intimate setting with warmth and charm!

I had been here before on a previous wine tour and didn't think much of it. Upon coming to Napa with a different group of friends we visited per request of the birthday celebrant. Keeping an open mind about giving this place a second chance, I really wish I had been proven wrong. Aside from the beautiful patio, there isn't much that stands out about this place. The service seemed rushed as if they were trying to get us in and out of there as quick as possible. The IV Sons was the only one that stuck out throughout the whole tasting, but even so, it was over priced for what it was.

Lovely winery on Silverado Trail. The Sorelle Chardonnay and the IV Sons Cabernet were delicious. The tasting room is intimate and by appointment only, ensuring you don't get overwhelmed by a slew of other guests. The staff was friendly and eager to please. We shared a Classic tasting, and were given additional pours of other wines not included in the Classic tasting. We bought one bottle at the tasting, but returned the next day to purchase two more because we liked them so much. Our only mistake was visiting this winery first, because all the others we visited that day ended up being a disappointment in comparison!

We went to many places in Napa and I was most impressed with this vineyard. The sceanery is not dramatic but it has a quiet patio with a nice view. I am not normally impressed by most wines, I'm a bit of a wine snob I guess but their Four Sons Cab and Elizabeth Pinot Noir were excellent. You can't beat the price point which they are at either at around $35. Very friendly staff as well. 5 stars all the way.

We were a large group at the the end of the day. Not an easy task for an ambitious guide like Mike Knox who knows and wants to share so much . But he managed the situation to perfection. Modified the tour on the fly to spend more time in the caves, still managed to peak our interest of the vines and vineyard, and overall gave us the experience we wanted. Thanks Mike for a PERFECT event!  They have many excellent wines, I liked the pinots enough to buy a case.
