Save BHI! Seriously, these people have tons of projects that they are working on. The beach reclamation project is a huge one, as are monitoring turtle, deer and alligator populations. They also encourage land donation through easements and outright donation. They are in charge of preservation and conservation of the island. They also have ongoing educational programs for children and adults alike. BHI has such great habitats for animals on one island: beach, salt marsh and maritime forest. The Conservancy's aim is to "preserve, conserve and educate". I think we can all jump on that bandwagon!
On a side note: make sure to stop by the Turtle Central Conservancy gift shop and support the BHIC. It's a great cause.
