    First of all: I'm a morning person, but waking up at 6:30 is not easy. But I'm still doing it, because Dawne and the people in her classes make it pleasant.

    Training with Dawne is almost like a personal training, since her classes are small (4 people was the max so far) and you get her attention. I am not the most athletic person in the world, and I appreciate the fact that she is not shouting in my ears - that wouldn't work for me. She is funny, motivating, and you will always know that she enjoys what she does! In the class we are mixing up cardio, strength and balance, inside and outside, which makes the hour go by faster. I hope I can keep going twice a week and I shall report back about the changes that happened to my body soon ;-)

    I have been working out with Dawne religiously for the last ten months. Its been the only time in my life that I find it so easy to roll out of bed for my 6.30am workout.  Dawne makes the workout feel like fun, she mixes up cardio, strength and balance. I never thought of my balance as being as important as cardio or strength but after standing on the half roller on one foot I soon found out otherwise. Its weird but I am convinced that my balance exercises with Dawne have really helped my snowboarding as well. BONUS

    She always listens to me and adjusts the workouts accordingly.  Like if I stayed out too late the night before and dont have as much energy as I should, or when my back is bothering me and I cant hold the plank for a minute or even when I want to push myself harder she picks up the tempo and adjusts the workout for me.

    I will continue to go for sure, I love working out at 6.30am because of Dawne and there is no way I could do it otherwise.

    Now, not that long ago I was not one who ever thought that I would join a gym, join a boot camp, or any other such tomfoolery but when I turned 40 I wasn't all that happy with the prospect of turning into a schlumpy, dumpy middle-aged guy, so this is what I did: I signed up with Dawne Schoep's Boot Camp. I signed up a year and a half ago and I have been going fairly steady on since then, first at Glen Park and then at Noe Valley.

    Dawne is a superb instructor who quite clearly does what she does because she enjoys it. She is everything all the other reviewers have said and more. In addition to developing balanced workout routines for her small and intimate boot camps, she asks each of us questions about what we want to achieve and helps us along in achieving our goals. I could go on about her talents and skills, but that has all been said before.

    What I think is most extraordinary about Dawne is that she actually makes me look forward to getting up at 5:45 in the morning and stumbling down the hill for my morning workouts. Dawne is extremely personable and enthusiastic and never seems to be dialing it in. In a word, she makes working out fun, which I never thought possible.

    Best of all, I have become a fit middle-aged guy! In comparison with a couple of years ago, I have tons of energy and am much more focused at work.  I plan to keep this up indefinitely.

    WOW! I cannot give anything lower than 5 stars here!! What an incredible balanced workout. I have always been intimidated by personal trainers. They are usually confined to large gyms, where you feel you do not get "personal attention". I used to use them at the Bay Club and when they are not chatting it up with co-workers or other gym regulars, they may find time to focus on you...

    Balanced Bodies By Dawne is completely different. You have many options- small group classes, boot camps, and of course- one on one training. I have had the opportunity to experience all three and I was shocked and surprised with her professionalism, energy, attention to my personal needs, her ability to keep me focused and help me reach my goals.

    One of the most important aspects of her training technique, is her ability to modify excercises to everyone's individual level. I sprained my ankle a year ago, so this is an area that can become injured easily. She has spent time modifying exercises for me, so as not to strain it further. Now, we are working on additional balance and strengthening exercises to increase strength in the weak areas. This has improved my overall athletic ability.

    The classes are always exciting and high energy- they are constantly different. The small group classes combine cardio, strength training and balance. They incorporate indoor and outdoor activities, so you are assured to never be bored.

    I have to give Dawne 5 stars because she has worked muscles that I didn't even know that I had. I have been working with her for approximately one month and have lost over a dress size- if that is not a clear result, I don't know what is. I am well on my way to a rock hard back side!!

    The best part- she doesn't charge $100+ a session like they do at most gyms and the results have been far superior

    Also- for those who may be nervous, just as I was- the first class is free! What better way to see if this is for you!

    I've been working out with Dawne on and off for about a year now.  She is amazing.  I had not been consistent with exercise in my life so I was nervous.  

    Dawne is attentive and intuitive about individual differences in the between the people in the class. She is calm and supportive and adjusts each exercise accordingly.  She removes intimidation and competitiveness with ease and grace.

    She is also super flexible about schedules and times.  I'm not sure if she's gotten too busy yet or not, but you can get a group of your own friends together and arrange for your own class - at your chosen time and location!  What service!

    Thanks Dawne for opening the door to a healthier me and for giving me the confidence to keep going.  Now I look forward to our classes together and I don't ever dread having to work out!
