Balance Life is great! The owners are incredibly friendly and always remember their "regular" customers. They appreciate customer feedback and will order new foods per customer suggestion.

They use to have these great cupcakes that I haven't seen for three or so weeks. I had a German Chocolate one that was fruit sweetened and locally baked by a stay at home mommy. The cupcake was better than BabyCakes and a good 80 cents cheaper!
As for other ready-made desserts, Balanced is a little unbalanced... They gots your Marry me Bars and the occasional cookie, but everything else has to be made.
Plenty of cereal, baking needs, and even some bulk nuts in the back!

Balanced life is great for its connivence and helpful staff, I think its family owned which makes me happy to spend a dollar more than Trader Joes.

I'm glad people (only 2 Yelpers, so far, but it's a start) love this place as much as I do.  They have a pretty good selection of the basic organic/veg stuff, as well as some yummy gourmet foods in the refrigerated section, AND a bunch of really good natural body products - I go out of my way to buy Alba stuff there, their Hawaiian formula lotion is my favorite thing ever.  The best part about this place, though, is how NICE the people who work there are (especially the woman); she has asked me if there are products I would buy that they don't carry, and is so, so helpful.  I often pass her in the street, and she always gives me a big smile and a hello.  This place is great, and I really hope it gets the attention it deserves!

once again, i totally agree with eden m. while i am a meaty ol. meat fan, and frequent eagle for my...meat, i have lived in the nabe for almost 5 years and they are still cold as iced to me (and, not to compromise my privacy, but i also work in the nabe at several local establishments, and am polite, so seriously.

anyway, balance is awesome and the owners are the best, and the prices are competitive. the lady owner said she was considering finding out how to make her own home cooked pakistani food and sell it at the store - encourage her, peoples!

I want this shop to succeed.  I will say that mantra until they supersize and take over my whole neighborhood, with health food franchises on every block.

Adeela and Siddique and their lovely sons have opened a health food market and juice bar in my rapidly gentrifying neighborhood.  They have the usual organic and gluten free fare, as well as a great section for personal care items, vitamins, and home use items like soap and toilet paper.  But the best thing about this shop is how much they obviously care about their customers.

They constantly are bringing in new merchandise, trying new lines and items, reorganizing the store to feature more things for the customers.  And when I go in there, I feel like I've stepped into a small town shop where the owner knows and recognizes me, inquires about my life and how I liked what I bought last time.  This approach makes me feel welcome in their shop, not pushed through like so many other commercial enterprises.

Go in to the store and buy, buy, buy.  The products are good for you, and the owners are just sweeties.  Can't have enough of that.
