Came here while visiting some friends for a good hangover lunch. This is definitely the spot for that. First of all, the flamin saganaki was outstanding and really cool how they bring it out on fire. Wifey got the ribeye, which was really good. Well seasoned and very flavorful. Beware though that anything you order will be cooked more than you expect. She ordered medium rare, it came out medium well, but was still very tender and delicious.

All I have to say for myself is the Medusa Burger!!! It was so perfect and it is huge. My friend and I are both big guys and big eaters and struggled to finish ours. I ordered mine with roasted veggies and not fries, but still struggled with it.

I hear that the cocktails are amazing, but I try to stick to beer for hangovers. Cool place right in the middle of everything.

Stumbled into this place randomly because the two other bars didn't appear open. This was a good choice. Since it was a weekday afternoon not too many people were there. To me, this can make or break a place. They either go for the gold or completely slack off.

No slacking seen here. The bartender (who totally looks like John Mayer, ladies) was very attentive and friendly. He introduced us to a new beer and let us sample a few items. I wouldn't expect this if they were busy, but this was a nice touch.

I didn't eat here (we had just eaten) but I did ask about the food. He says they get much busier at night or during lunch and was able to name, day by day their specials. That's a bonus. And because he did that, I want to return...endless pasta bowl night? Um, don't twist my arm.

The atmosphere is casual and "oakey"...lots of wood. I wouldn't know that it was a Greek place based on this, but who am I to judge? I liked it and will return.

First time here and I thought it was really good. Food was great, but the service seemed a bit slow.  They had a big party so I will cut them some slack.  For sure will be going back!

You know sometimes when you see a place in an area is the top rated place there is a good reason. Bakkhus is the best place in Kemah. I kept hearing about it but was never a big Greek food fan. Finally I went and then went again and again. I'm telling you I dream about this damn place and it kind of freaking me out. Great location, great staff(really great), amazing food and drinks. Let me highlight my favorites.  Gyro Burrito!  Tender Gyro meat, sauteed Tomato onion jalapenos, smothered in fire Feta wrapped in a pita. It is juicy and spicy and so delicious. Man I am having a hard time typing this because it makes we want to go there now!   Trojan Popper which are jalapenos stuff with Gyro and fire feta are pretty hot and I could make a meal out of these alone. My daughter always get the fried shrimp platter and it is such fresh and properly prepared fried shrimp that it rivals and seafood place. The crown jewel for me is the Medusa burger though which is a 1/2 lb burger with sauteed Tomato onion jalapenos, fire feta, Swiss, provolone, and american cheese, bacon, and some huge hand battered onion rings! Probably the best burger in the clear lake area. They also have an awesome steak night and other nightly specials. If drinking is your thing they use quality house liquors, have a nice wine selection, plenty of different beers, and offer a bunch of unique speciality drinks. Anyway look at my photos and really if you have not already you need to try this place. Holy crap. I finally went on a WED for crawfish and they were the best and biggest in the area!  If it is in season you owe it to yourself to get some of these mud bugs. The size was very large and they came with sausage, mushrooms, potatoes, and corn at no extra cost. Most places would call these crawfish "select" but here they are the norm. Get some!!

Solid place! Great food, great music and is open late!

After a family affair in league city we went looking for a barish type place that was open at midnight and would allow someone under 21 in.

    This place is perfect!

I have to stress the food is actually fantastic! When walking in I have to be honest I was not expecting much. But now it's 1:30am and were heading back to sugar land and I know when I'm back on this side of town, I will eat here. The service could have been better but at 1am, I should not complain.

    Can't wait to come back.

Rockin' good hummus. Great pita, and the ambiance is so relaxed, particularly on a sunny day out on the patio.

I personally love the medusa burger, its got pinapple, jalepenos, american and swiss cheeses all on this amazing bun. The bun always makes it or breaks it for me. If you don't like heat, no need to worry, its not spicy. Also you must try the fire feta dip...amazing!

Went here for lunch today.  We sat outside on the covered patio, it wasn't too bad considering it was h-o-t today!  I got suggestions for a drink and decided upon the Moji-Tea.  It is a mojito made with sweet tea vodka.  YUM!  I did get a big ole glass of H2O also.

For an app we had the Dip Trio.  It had the hummus, Fire Feta Dip that was nicely spicey, and the Tzatziki (yogurt and cucumber) and came with fried pita.  I have never had fried pita before...o...m...g!  so good!

I decided on the Greek Festival Platter that had Pastitsio (their macaroni, ground beef, bechamel sauce dish), Greek meatballs, Tiropita (blend of cheeses baked in filo dough - my new fave!), spanakopita (cheese and spinach wrapped in filo dough and baked), stuffed grape leaves and pita bread.  Everything tasted fresh and allowed me to try some new dishes.
M had the gyro plate which was a big pile of delicious gyro meat, tomato, onion, pita, served with fries and tzatziki.

The food is delicious, but a bit pricey.  1 app, 2 entrees, 1 mix drink $56.  The food is really good, and the location is right down from the water.

The gyro burrito is amazing, with the firey hot goat cheese, wrapped in a pita. The Bakkhus burger is 100% our favorite burger in this area.

It's nice to go to Kemah and not have to fight the crowds of tourists.

I love Greek food so anytime I can, I try to find somewhere new to eat. The only down fall is that is it very small inside, hence the name Taverna, lol. But the food is good, the drinks are tasty, and it's a pretty cool place.

DELISH food!  The feta dip is a MUST try!  I am absolutely in love with their fried pita bread it's simply scrumptious!

Surprisingly the burgers are absolutely delicious, but I have yet to try something here that wasn't fantastic!

They even allowed me to bring my pups on the patio, MOST of the guests didn't seem to mind, but you always have that one uptight, stick up my ass, couple that has an issue with pets, my solution = don't allow kids if you don't allow pets :)

Service is always top notch, Ashley and Anita rock my socks off!

Went here on a Saturday night, sat outside on the porch.  I liked the porch because it had shade and fans blowing so it was not too sticky.  The only complaint was the neighboring bars both had bands outside so the music was a bit overpowering.

As for the food, it was spot on fantastic!!  The service was good, a little slow, but tolerable.

This is a great spot to enjoy some wine and good greek food!

The gyro burrito is off the hook.  I'm a regular at nikko nikko and this place lived up to the gyro legacy.  Loaded with meat and piping hot.  The wait staff needs a a lesson is service with a smile.  I felt our waitress had a bit of an attitude.  Otherwise 4 stars in my book.  prices are affordable food was good I'll be back

I've had a couple of their dishes and all of them were delish, however it is not always consistent. Their octopus dish is cooked to perfection. I love how they are not afraid of it looking exactly like what you are eating. Their gyros salad is very fresh and way too much for one person. I love Weds because you get a great deal on their snow crab or their shrimp. The butter sauce is scrumptious and their shrimp are so fresh and HUGE! I usually prefer crabs over shrimp but not at this place. I just didn't like how one day I got potatoes with my shrimp and the next time I went in and order the same exact thing I didn't get any potatoes. I hate it when places stiff me on my food! I've sat at the bar and had table service and it's always been great for me.
Hint: If you want immediate/quicker service just go sit at the bar. Bartenders tend to provide "better" service because they have a smaller section to look after and everything is right at their fingertips.

My family went here on Halloween day (Saturday) for lunch.  There was Morticia (Adam's Family) and a pregnant nun serving us.  We had the pita chips with hummus and gyros were really good, but they charged us for extra sauce for our gyros.  The baklava was large and very delicious!

Went here for dinner about a month back.  The food was fantastic.  Grant it, the group I was with was starving at the time we got there, and may have been drinking some.  We sat outside on the patio which was nice.  The service was decent.  The food which I would not call traditional Mediterranean was very good.  Hit the spot.  Portion sizes were fairly large.  I got a gyro and fries, as well as spanakopita as an appetizer.  Both were excellent.  Don't really remember how the pricing was.  Also had some interesting looking burgers, such as ones that had been soaked in wine prior to cooking.  It all looked good.  Ill need to back and try some of those burgers.

Really good spot for Greek food. While staying in the Boardwalk Inn, we took a stroll through the Lighthouse District and discovered this spot. It was a perfect day for sitting on the porch. The restaurant has a laid back, beachy feel to it which fits nicely with the surroundings.
I ordered the Gyro which I think is the standard for Greek fare. It was served with Tzatziki sauce and seasoned fries. My wife ordered the Gyro salad. Both were excellent. Lots of food for a very reasonable price.

Wow! Where do I begin? This is the BEST Greek place in the Houston area! I am Greek, know Greek food like the back of my hand, and think they do a superb job of serving traditional Greek food with a twist. I've never been disappointed with the quality of food or the service. Favorite dishes include the mousaka and the gyro...although everything is suuuuper tasty!

My wife and I eat here fairly regularly.  The only real complaint is the service.  It can be slow at times.  It is hit or miss.  We have certainly gone a number of times, and the service was spot on.  We are used to lazy and slow service living in the clear lake area.  You just go in with that mentality, and all is well.  Great food, good bar, great happy hour, and nice porch to sit and people watch all the townies from city drive by on their way to the boardwalk.
