Being of Mediterranean descent, I'm not up for the "sugar/fast food" thing. I love the breakfast/lunch hours, and the freshest of ingredients. I LOVE the Cheese and Veggie Zatar, and the warm hospitality of the staff!  I'm hooked! Breakfast/Lunch doesn't get any better than this!!!!!

    Bakery you say?

    And off I went.

    Inside....WTF! Wheres the baked goods???

Turns out someones sick joke was naming a Armenian fast food place a "bakery"

I was hungry so I stayed.

The menu...lets say the menu is not newbie friendly.

I ordered Lahm Baajeen (ground seasoned beef) with cheese (3.14)

    And Chicken and cheese (3.25)

    Beef. http://www.yelp.com/bi...

A creative tasty and messy sandwich. Tempting to give it 5 stars when you hit it with a little house hot sauce.

    Chicken.

    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

    Dry. Not seasoned well. Disappointing.

The cheese and my liberal use of hot sauce made it OK.

If you are in the area you need to get a beef sandwich

Zaatar and Labneh Manakeesh... it was a dream. the yogurt hides the graininess of the zaatar (if that makes any sense to you). This was my first time here, I was so excited! and they delivered. The two guys working there were nice, just the necessary amount of politeness.
I am digging this newfound (for me) concept of breakfast.
Ok, so I ordered the zaatar n labneh (yum!), kafta (so good!), cheese and vegetables (not a fan.. but i am currently having an affair with zaatar) and zaatar and vegetables (sans the yogurt) but i much rather it with yogurt.

Anyway, this is a small place in a dingy strip mall on Arrow Hwy (name one non-dingy establishment on Arrow Hwy and I will cook for you!) They have early hours, so call ahead to make sure they are open. They accept credit cards (+1). The menu is basically all kinds of manakeesh and three types of toasted sandwiches (labneh, chicken and soujok).
The prices are incredible. the traditional zaatar manakeesh goes for 1.50, and the most expensive item you can get there is the Soujok sandwich for 3.99.

This is why I friggin love Los Angeles. You can submerge yourself in other cultures and then get in your car and drive on the deteriorating freeways, sunny, beautiful southern california. Take that NY!

My verdict: Try it, you wont regret it

My girlfriend and I love this place. We can both eat lunch for under $10, and it's delicious.

I normally order the zaatar and vegetables and the cheese and vegetables. Both excellent. The food is basically a flatbread coated and filled with whatever you want, rolled/folded like a burrito. The bread is always fresh, and the toppings always tasty. Drinks are cans/bottles from a fridge, standard selection of coke and fanta and ice tea or bottled water.

You can phone in orders to pick up, though I've never done that. Any orders under $10 must pay cash.

The place is always clean, and I've never seen it crowded. There's a TV in the corner always on a news channel, sometimes in English, often in Arabic.

Fantastically fresh foods at reasonable prices! My son and I have been going here for years. It is tucked away next to Charter Oak Library. The breads are baked on site; it doesn't get any fresher! The owners are really nice too. We love Bakery King, and we love to support this small business owner who puts his heart into the baked products. The cheese is awesome and "buttery". Yum!

    I love this place!

Food is fresh. Prices are reasonable. Owner and staff are nice.

I always order the plain cheese. It's like a baked quesadilla with melted goat cheese and butter. And it's only a couple of bucks. Their falafel has their own unique twist to it.

For under $10 you can eat like a king or queen.

    It's a cool little dive.

Words can not describe how delicious everything they make. I drive in from malibu on the weekends to enjoy the taste of Lebanon when I can. Depending on how busy they are , it can be a minute until your order is ready . Worth the wait!!! Thank you bakery king

Whenever I crave my Grandmother's cooking I go to Bakery King.  All the food is baked fresh and warm when you order it. The manoushi is my favorite.  My Grandma used to even bring in her own zatar - she's a picky lady!

This place is great for breakfast or lunch, never crowded, always friendly, and a bargain!

Best deal in town!  This place is awesome! The veggie pizza as I call them since I don't speak Arabic is divine! For less than $3 you can have a great filling meal! If you don't carry cash, you must spend at least $10! Easy!  But don't come complaining to me when you start gaining weight! I like the one with cheese, tomato and basil and olives! Yum yum!  After your first visit and you know what you like, it's best to call your order in if you don't like to wait!

This place is in the same plaza as the Charter Oaks Library.  I wasn't sure what I was walking into when I came here.  The place is called Bakery King so I thought it was some sort of bakery place but  was surprised it was Middle Eastern food.  I'm glad I gave it a try.  I never had anything on the menu before but the man working the register was nice enough to explain everything.

I ordered my food to go and the smell of the food was so good i wanted to pull over and eat it then and there.  I don't know how to pronounce the things i ordered but my favorite was the chicken and cheese, ground beef and onions, veggies wrap..they have sandwiches too and different types of meats on top of pita bread.. the food reminded me of mexican quesadillas and everything was delicious and CHEAP!!..  I'll definitely be coming here again.  Its a must try if your in the area or you wanna try something different.
