Flushing, NY
Their pastries are amazing, delicious, and always crispy! It's a bit over priced tho, but they taste great.
The pastries here do not look any different than pastries in most other bakeries, and they do not look very appealing, but I was in heaven once I dug my teeth into them, until I finish them. The outside is always crispy and buttery, the fillings are sweet, delicious and unforgiving, which always makes me wanting more, but eating more = spending more time at gym to work all the calories off. sigh.
It really doesn't help since I live 5 blocks away from it.
Oh, their coffee is not that great, so I would suggest buying your coffee from Fay Da bakery across the street on 39th AVE. -

I think they're closed?
They are/were an okay bakery, doesn't really garner a yay or a nay. Plenty of tables, small selection of pastries and bread, weak coffee, bare decor. But I definitely prefer them over Koryodang across the street.
They have two bathrooms, which is helpful to know about. Helps even more if you use it, leave it neat, and buy a coffee or dollar pastry from them. Or at least leave the bathroom neat and remember to stop by and get something next time. Good bathrooms are not easy to come by! I realize this is a bakery review, not a bathroom review, but bathrooms are important to life and their existence aids in the comfortable linger over coffee and sweets enjoyment. -

I got a whole bunch of everything from here and everything kind of tastes the same. The highlights were the sweet potato cake thingys, the almond flatbread (I think that's what it was) and the hot dog thingy (it was a hot dog wrapped in bread).
Anyways, it was decent, but not fantastic and not dirt cheap like tai pan. Also it is a HUGE biatch to find parking. -

This Korean bakery opened sometime last year. It's right across from Koryo Bakery and it's competition.
It's newer, cleaner, and the pastry selection is varied compared to the other Korean bakeries. The place actually almost looks like a coffee shop so the ambience is nicer.
I just bought a ham and cheese bread stick which was really tasty. There are actually places to sit which isn't cramped and cafeteria like. Last month, I tried their desserts which were really good as well. It's sweet but not too sweet. Oh, they have a few country breads and baguettes in a weaved basket which you must try. The bread is soft and chewy.
One thing that bothers me is: I don't know why, for the life of me, they would name their store Bakery de Paris when they're actually Korean. It puzzles me but I think they wanted to sound fancy. Nothing to take away a star over. A must go!Listed in: Flushing Eats

Dear Bakery de Paris,
I live in Philadelphia, and one of the things I look forward most to when I go to NYC is visiting you. Everything you've made me has been awesome. All of your pastries and cakes all look really beautiful, and your beauty isn't only skin deep; you're also delicious! From the fruit tart to the big chewy ball with sweet potato in it (don't know what you're called) to the green tea and chocolate cake to the coffee ice pop. Just between you and me, Bakery de Paris, I wasn't wild about your coffee, but now that I've quit drinking coffee, I don't even care! Your iced tea is great! You're nice place to hang out and watch people too.
Omigod, I forgot about your big raisin bread thing with cream cheese inside! You're awesome too!
I think what I'm trying to say, Bakery de Paris, is that, well, I love you! And I don't care who knows it! -

Yam cakes were delicious, as were the almond flatbreads, the carrot cake is a little bit more expensive but worth it. load up on everything, its really cheap so you can taste a bunch of delicious stuff. (incidentally my roommate and i came wondering in our pjs, totally smashed, loaded our bags with one of everything and proceeded to make a night of it. so judgement could be slightly off... lol)

I've strolled inside before but I never got to sit down and soak in the atmosphere. My relative ordered a biscotti cookie from there for me and my partner. It was buttery and had a great crumbly texture. I will have to try more products before making a more sound decision about this place.

I thought for a second that they are pastries from Paris and so I was excited to look inside, however, to my disappointment this bakery is another asian bakery. But don't run yet, this bakery has something interesting to offer so check it out. You'll be glad you satisfy your curiousity.

Surprisingly delicious but someone tell me what is French about this place? The desserts looked Asian inspired to me.

You walk in and you spell the wonderful smells of freshly baked pastries...butter and sugar....ahhhh. They have some good looking baked goods including traditional croissants and chinese buns and cakes. The best part is the cashiers were wearing these crazy bear and sheep hats. I love it! Not sure if they were just being festive for the holidays or this is a regular thing. Nonetheless Bakery de Paris is the most Asian "French" bakery I've ever been in and it's a great place to stop in on a cold day to grab a warm cup of hazelnut coffee and croissant.

My parents really love this bakery because is has alot of healthier options like potato bread, whole wheat bread and other whole grain pastries. I thought it was pretty good but koryodang across the street was where I always went so it's hard to break the habit plus there are more chairs and it's a nicer place to sit and talk. I also think Koryodang has a little more selection in terms of variety but this place was still pretty good and had most of the things I was looking for. I don't get why korean bakeries charge so much for a piece of bread... sometimes, I just decide to go to chinese bakeries in flushing because they are at least twice as cheap.

I have to say every time i stop by flushing i have to drop by this place. Is one of my favorite Korean bakery. Love those butter cream buns they have, I can't stop eating them. I usually grabbed myself like 10 of them before I head home. If I don't get 10 i won't even have one left for myself , cuz my husband will probably eat like 9 of them already before we head home hehe.

I am a bread lover, especially a true Parisian Baguette or pan instead of Italian ones.
Here you won't be disappointed although types of French style bread aren't many. Their Baguette has crunchy crust and soft crumb. The fermentation is to the right time that doesn't carry too strong a sour taste. Well, the bread texture is ok. Upon visiting so many high rated bakeries, I would say their baguette is one of the best I ever tried in New York.
Red wine bread, walnut breads are good if you spray them with water and heated them in the oven., As these would bring the bread back to the stage like it is just freshly baked. Brie cheese raisin bread is good too. You may wonder why the cheese can withstand such a high temp in the oven (and so long) as the bread dough being baked till it is done , yet not melting into sticky form as a pizza does. The taste riches its fullness after warming in the oven as well.
For sweet teeth like me, their so-called bread-pudding (bread) would truly satisfy you, which cost 5 bucks for a whole 6" round cake.
It is a shop I visited once a week for sure, even though it takes me 1.5 hour to go there! -

This is a past review written by me at another review site on 03/08/2007.
Out of all the bakeries in Flushing, this has the most refined and delicious breads and pastaries around. Starting with the savory, buttery, flaky and moist croissant, made fresh daily and available at 7:45 am each morning. They also make it in almond flavor, my next favorite. I also tried their tiramisu, it is potently, full of cocco, coffee and creme. I never had one like this. At one week I frequent this eveyday the only thing that stopped me was my b-pressure. But , if I wasn't in bad shape I would come every day. The price is a bargain for this caliber of perfection. It's also shown in the store, it's clean, decor is contemporary and warm. From the cashier you can see the immaculate kitchen with chef wearing dove white professional attire all working for your taste buds to scream and your mind to slide onto decadent submission. In all seriousness I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. But, going on, this bakery has an assortment of western standards such as the two I mentioned in the past sentences and a garden of Korean eithnic cookies and breads, which should be tried at least once. My favorites are chestnut bread, sweet white bean cookies (sorry I forgot the name) and green tea bread. The coffee is also a very good compliment to what ever you are eating. This is a culinary experience.
You get what you pay for and this is the best in flushing maybe even NYC. -

Good food and prices. The Green Tea Monju and Chocolate Croissants are delicious. Only thing wrong about this place are the workers. They aren't very friendly. Need an attitude adjustment. If saying hello and thank you are too much to ask, then I must be crazy or too demanding.

If I lived in the immediate area of this bakery I'd probably be morbidly obese and in a diabetic coma, so it's probably a good thing that I don't. Their pastries are def legit and they set the standards pretty high for how a bakery should be. Granted they are a bit pricey compared to the neighboring Fay-Da or Tai Pan bakery, bit it is oh so worth it. It's located across the street from the Jade Asian Restaurant and the municipal parking nearby makes it that much more convenient. I'm normally not a fan of sweets but Bakery de Paris has def converted me, I usually get their danishes, which are filled with a variety of fruit jams, blueberry and cream cheese, raspberry and cream cheese, apple, pineapple etc. They also carry a huge selection of breads, croissants, cakes, and other savory things which is all pretty solid and all their stuff seems really fresh, never stale. New Year's resolution my ass, thanks Bakery de Paris for my ever expanding waist size
