...It's not like I'm gonna miss it much though! lol
1 star for the food, 3 stars for the pie which averages to 2 stars. I will never in my life come here to eat dinner again. We used to live down the street from there so we finally decided to pay them a visit. Huge mistake. I ordered the chicken tenders and he ordered popcorn shrimp. Pac said they must have gone across the parking lot to Safeway and grabbed them from the frozen food aisle. The fries were the only semi-edible things on our plates but they weren't great either. At least our chocolate cream pie was pretty good though, that was their saving grace. We think they should stick to what they are good at which is their pies.
Side note, my sis said she used to go there with her then bf for breakfast and used to enjoy it. I was shocked to say the least. Who knows, maybe their breakfasts are better? I will never go again to find out for myself though.
I've eaten here a couple of times back in the day with my family and their food is nothing special by all means.
I'm just giving this place 3 stars for their pie and because my friend Leilani used to work here. I believe the 2 pies I liked here that I have tried were the Almond Pecan Pie and the Strawberry Cream Pie. I remember one time (probably in 2005) me and my homie got really high. Came in here and ordered a slice each of the Strawberry Cream Pie and it seemed like it took days for us to order it and get it, and I remember they had a hot girl working the counter, and we were all tripping out cause she kept smiling at us, or at least that's what we thought at the time.
So yeah, we go back to his car and finish those slices in like a minute. Then a couple minutes later, I find myself going back in there to order an entire Strawberry Cream Pie and we find her still smiling at us. The pie was devoured within the next 10 minutes.
Not bad. A lil outdated, but not bad. The frames that were hanging on the wall looked a lil rusty. They looked like they used to be white when they first opened, but now have turned into a yellowish color.
Service was slow, possibly because there was only 1-2 servers, but hey, it was a Sunday night. Everyone goes out to dinner after mass, don't they?!?! Anyway, besides that, the food was pretty decent. I ordered their honey mustard chicken w/ steamed vegetables, and it was really good. One chicken breast could have done me justice, but they gave me 2. That was awesome. Also, ordered their pecan pie, and it was sooooo good. It was warm and had a lot of goo to it, if you know what I mean. The next time I'm there, I'm ordering it with vanilla icecream.. Yummmmy!
I have great admiration for Bakers Square. 4 stars because the have that little magazine flip thing at their tables to show what pies they have. Why would they make sit through dinner with that thing on the table tempting you.
The food is "okay" meaning, you can stomach it without throwing up. Typical American style stuff like burgers, pot pies, steaks, etc. which isn't that bad. Their pies are what make the place tolerable. Service is by far decent. The place reminds me of a living room of a grandma's house.
This year I skipped on the pumpkin and went for a fresh strawberry pie. Nobody was dissapointed! I really don't get how they do it, the recipe seems so simple yet it turns out so much better than anything I could ever whip up. I tried a couple slices of the other pies (chocolate cream, country apple) and the strawberry beats them by a long shot. It's the type of pie you can eat for any occassion. Trust me you will not go back to those grocery store pies ever again!
We come here for breakfast after church on sundays sometimes... there's 1 lady server that is nice to us... (forgot the name) she would always stop by and say 'hello' to us... if she's not serving us,.. well, expect some slow server or unfriendly hostess.
nothing really special on their menu... my husband would always get the spinach omelet and some cheesecakes... and i'll have whatever i feel like on their menu...
I like to come here for a late night breakfast since few places offer it. Decent food for the price. Nothing spectacular just convenient. Their pies are always great.
Don't really bother eating here. the food's bland and not so great. its only worth it to taste the desserts. We always, always buy the strawberry pie. Its definitely good eats and not overkill on the sweetness. The strawberries are gargatuan and the crust just right.
Some of the other pies are questionable, however. It really depends. I couldn't stand the new brownie mint pie: one bite and i never touched it again.
Bakers Square is kinda nice, its like Dinny's but with a better rep, but the strange thing is i like Denny's breakfasts more, it's just that Denny's has more options
I've never actually dined here so the review is for the pie. I stopped by today to order a slice of banana cream pie. It was okay. I'd give it a..2.6. I probably wouldn't come back unless I craved it for some odd reason. The restaurant itself reminded me somewhat of an old peoples home...don't ask. The other pies didn't look too appealing either, oh well. Maybe I'm just not a pie person.
The pictures look great from their menu but what the restaurant actually serves you it is a big sloppy disappointment. This is the second time that they ran out of banana cream pie. They also ran out of strawberry pie. The food is not very good either. We come here because it is a casual place to hang out. The service is terrible because they are always short staffed. Our waiter barely knew how to speak English and the manager is always out on breaks smoking outside. The lady is old and not very friendly. I do not recommend coming here at all.
My favorite is the banana cream or the french silk pies. I usually get the Sampler if I can't make up my mind. There's no surprise there with onion rings, chicken strips, and cheese sticks. The rest of the menu can be duplicated elsewhere, so I can't say I jump for joy when my meal comes, but it's decent. Although, there is this excitement with smelling the dinner rolls. My friends told me about this unusual dog breath smell when they ate here, but I couldn't believe it until I experienced it myself. I nearly gagged when I took a whiff of it. I try to invite my other friends to smell it in order to believe it. I'm not sure if it's only this location, so sniff your bread next time.
Go for the pies. I saw a pie special on foodnetwork and baker square actually won alot of awards. After watching the show I drove here and ordered a mini slice (like a buck something) of all their top pies. Cool thing is, I came in pretty late so they just gave me all the rest of the pies, since they toss them every night. The strawberry one was the best. So simple, fresh strawberry, crust, cream, perfecto.
The food @ bakers square isnt that great i mean ur better going off to carrows or dennys and find similar meals that are alot better but i mean the pie are really good! If u want good pie eat there but i prefer not eating there food!
