I've always been a fan of Baker Square. It's close to my house and their menu has some great options. My favorite part of the place is their French Silk Pie. If I'm getting dinner, I go for the Honey Mustard Chicken Foccacia. They recently updated their menu, adding a bunch of new items and remodeled the restaurant. It now has a very modern feel - kind of cornerstone bakery-esque. A great little place to grab dinner or sit for a while with a friend and catch up over pie and coffee.

This Baker's Square pales in comparison to the one that I grew up by.  It's a shame, really.  Have gone for pie many times, and the service is fine, the pie is fine.  Went for dinner, ordered my staple fish and chips and was disgusted with the fish.  Instead of being small chunks of fried fish, it was battered and looked baked, definitely not what it used to be.  I ended up sticking with the fries.  I wrote a letter to Customer Service about this switcheroo and they sent  me a coupon for a free meal.  When I went back, I asked the waiter about the fish and chips, and he explained that they had made a switch but now have gone back to the old recipe.  Thank goodness.

Unfortunately, there is VERY little on  the menu for vegetarians.  They used to have a GREAT veggie melt, but that's off the menu.  Even the grilled cheese comes with bacon.  They will accomodate, but it's definitely an inconvenience.

Prices have gone up significantly in the last few years.  Sure sure there's inflation and all that jazz, but it was only a couple of years ago that I could go in and eat with a date for less than $20 including pie and nice tip.  Now, you're looking at spending closer to $30 or $40, and for that, I will go somewhere else.

They did bring back the Boca burger and will fix anything with it. The new combo salads are tasty, but not cheap. The salmon on spinach had potatoes and roasted veggies, it was a full meal and the cook needs to understand the concept that if you order the dressing on the side, it means you want to put it on yourself, so it is not drowned and soupy, not that I am such a big fan of the dressing I want to swim in it.

I stopped in to get an worker evaluation as I have a student that works here part time. Extremely nice people work here during the morning shift.
