I'm kind of a Baja Fresh addict. After a stint on Weight Watchers, you really miss Mexican food because burritos and quesadillas aren't really recommended. I started heading to Baja Fresh for the amazing Chicken Tortilla Soup (sans avocado for me) with either a salad or an original Baja Chicken Taco.
If you're wondering - Soup is 5 WW points and the Taco is 3 WW points...
It's a yummy meal for less than 10 points!

The cool thing about this Baja Fresh is that they accommodate our sweaty, stinky marathon team after our speed workouts at nearby Arcadia High.
And for me, that's the high point.
It could be that after nearly three years of Tuesday night's at Baja Fresh, I'm a bit burnt out. But I honestly don't find that their food is all that good.
On my most recent visit I ordered a two taco combo with steak; my friend ordered the same with carnitas. Both came with rice and beans and a little basket o' chips. The plan was that we'd trade - one steak for one carnitas - that way we could have a taste of each.
It's kinda hard to mess up a soft taco when you think about it, but then again...the steak was overdone and dry, and the carnitas, while tender, was bland, and had kind of a sweet tasting broth that clashed oddly with the hot salsa.
The rice - what little there was - was mediocre at best, and the pinto beans tasted more like pork n' beans - too sweet for my taste.
I do like their salsas, which can cover a multitude of culinary sins, but truthfully, I've had better luck with the steak soft tacos at Taco Bell.

They close at 10, it's a healthier alternative to fast food burgers in this area. Chips made daily, fresh salsa (my favorite is the smoky baja salsa), a bit of a wait for your food, but that's because it's cooked to order
