Love the big nice glasses they give you for $15 plus wine tastings.

I hate overly sweet wines, and there wines are very dry & I loved them.

Highly recommend Montage (white dry wine)

Go early, when it gets later and too busy you can't really get to the counter & won't have as good of an experience.

To be honest, I wasnt really a fan of their wines. They all had a similiar underlying flavor that I wasnt a fan of, and they were all pretty dry. But if you like tannic, red wines, then this is the winery for you! Very friendly staff in the tasting room as well.

One perk, a giant glass is included when you buy a tasting. Biggest glass Ive seen given away in Temecula.

Also ate at the restaurant here. They have a small beer selection which was nice. Otherwise food is fairly upscale with the price to match. Service was decent. No complaints there.

Probably wont be going back unless already tipsy, with someone else driving. =p

Wow! What a good time we had last weekend at this place. Good food. Grilled salmon was terrific! Good service and prices are fair. Haven't tried the wine tasting (ran out of time) so we will be going back!!

Zero service and attracts self centered rude crowds.  This is the third time we went here and as in all the times - we walked out after waiting 20 mins to get a tasting.  Tried to make eye contact with the servers and discovered they actually avoided new people, only wanted to give attention to just the clowns parked at in their area.  And they park, for a loooong time.

Here is the problem, Baily's was built from the money of a squat-and-cobble and was not built to be a business that needs to be profitable.  Therefore you receive lower class people who could not care less about getting new customers or selling their product.  It's a weird cult atmosphere where your always be the outsider.  Their restaurant gives the same feeling, even the old one that use to be in the mall years ago.

Done being disappointed with this place.  Went to Mt Palomar, who made up for the bad experience.

Service @ the restaurant was terrible. Party of 6 got appetizers only at 3:30 before tasting-we finally got out of the restaurant and 5:10-the tasting room was closed. Waitress was slow, un friendly and kinda rude. She messed up our bill AFTER she took notes because we split it up. Won't be going back the the restaurant any time soon.

Stopped by for a visit on July 1, 2011. They are one of the oldest wine yards around the area (others have moved or were bought out), and mostly make dry wine.

I loved how helpful they were - I was just introduced to wine and consequently had lots of questions. They were nice enough to answer every one of the them and expand on their responses - wonderful people at this winery, unlike some of the neighboring ones.

Wine tasting is $15 for 6 tastes, 2 of us shared one and the guy behind the counter was nice enough to let us taste 7. If you decide to purchase a bottle of wine at the very end, $5 credit will be applied to the price listed on the catalogue.

The Meritage was definitely our favorite.

This is my favorite winery in Temecula. Ok, maybe it ties for my fav.

    Why I like them:

    1.) Dry Reisling
2.) Most of their reds...especially Meritage
3.) The people here are ALWAYS willing to teach, inform, chat and so on about the wine. If you know alot or a little about wine and wine making they will explain anything you ask. There are a few wineries that are so snobby ...this is a rare find...good wine + nice people. LOVE.

This was our first Temecula winery and I'm so glad that we came! It's a small winery and tasting room that didn't have many people around 12:30 on a Sunday. Lloyd was a fantastic [what's the name of the people who stand behind the counter and pour the wins for you?] because he was super nice, friendly and knowledgeable. He also was not stingy in the pours. $15 for 6 tastes and you can keep the wine glass, which is huge btw. I stuck with the 4 whites and the 2 dessert wines and ended up buying 2 whites (Riesling and I-forgot-which). What's also great is you receive a $5 coupon per bottle for each person who purchases a tasting. I would definitely recommend this place if you like the less commercial-y and crowded feel.

I'll admit it - I really dig the glasses they give out for the tastings.

I stole the boy away for a weekend and we went up and down Wine Country in search of that perfect glass of wine. My friend happens to be a wine club member here, and she put this one in particular on our to do list. I'll confess after visiting huge, decorated properties such as Mount Palamor and Wilson's Creek, Baily felt deserted and cold.

The buildings are all in stone, with various little sculptures scattered here and there. Tastings are bought at the pouring counter, and like most wineries it is $10 each for 5 tastings. Each pourer has their own personality, and although the building itself felt cold, the people behind the counter made you feel more than welcome.

Our guy in particular shed a little light on the history of the winery as well as some of the hot sauce that was sold there - I could say that we truly enjoyed the company. As I said, the glasses were beautiful and huge - the wine wasn't quite to my liking, but everyone has a different taste. I did enjoy the Cab Franc at the time.

We did not receive tasting tickets, and it seemed that it was pretty much on the honor system, but after about 4 tastings we were pretty much done - had our glasses wrapped like candy apples, and bid Baily adeu.

Though not particularly one of my favorite wineries, I'd recommend it on the to-drink list solely based on the knowledge, friendliness and non-snobbiness of the people.

The only wine that didn't taste like bad breath was the Sangiovese.    The wine pourer told me that the Merlot would start out tingly and then leave an explosion in my mouth.  He was right about the explosion.  It was all I could do not to spew.

They also didn't provide a dump bucket and believe me they needed one.

The tasting room and restaurant at Baily Winery are chateaux-like, with stone brick walls, tall ceilings and sculpted "Griffins" overlooking the grounds. Winemaker Phil Baily and Chef Carol Baily have created a lovely place for wine and food lovers. I liked the overall feeling of the tasting room here, very relaxed, chill place.. =)

Their focus here is on Bordeaux grape varieties & Baily also produces a range of dessert wines and rosés, as well as Riesling, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and some lovely blends. The tasting room and gift area is expansive and includes a deli for fresh gourmet food. For a real treat, on Sundays they serve sushi!

Tastings are $10.00/ Person any 5 different wines, (no restrictions) and keep 19 oz logo tasting glass

I'm a big wine fanatic and decided to go to this winery among my wine tasting tour in Temecula. Unfortunately, I decided to go to this winery first and had a horrible experience which ruined the rest of my day. I'm still sick to my stomach thinking about it. I went wine tasting with a friend. We were ignored for a very long time. The wine pourer would skip us a couple of times and when he finally poured, he wouldn't talk about the wine and would just shove the glass. Everyone that came in after us, left before us. We were there for almost 2 hours trying to get our 1 flight. My friend said that the man was racist and he is familiar with this treatment from older men. I'm not sure if that was the case but either way we were ignored and not treated the same as every one else, even though we were very polite and friendly. I'm upset by how we were treated and had to say something. I will never return to this winery again.

First let me say that I am NOT a wine expert. However, I felt like one after leaving Baily. That's how I know I've been to a good winery. it's not just sampling as much as you can and getting drunk; it's being educated by the staff as you sample each wine. Our specialist--whose name I forget, but he was great--made our family feel like the only people at the winery. He took the time to answer all of our bizarre questions about the wine and make specific recommendations. I ended up leaving with several bottles of my favorite--the sangiovese. Also, the decor is really fun. It's like your in an old Medieval castle in Europe. It was like being transported back in time. Don't leave without a few bottles and a bite at the restaurant!

My girlfriend has been trying to culture me into being more of a lady opting for a glass of wine instead of having shots of tequila and downing a Negro Modelo faster than my male counterparts. Part of these "lessons" includes visiting local wineries and doing winery tours and wine tasting. I've never been much of a wine drinker. I mean I have it, but most of the time I don't know what the heck I'm drinking.

The Baily Winery and vineyards was one of our first stops. It's a beautiful vineyard. It's very intimate; it made me want to cuddle up to someone but my girlfriend told me absolutely not. We did some tasting here and I learned all about the sniffing and tasting behind wine sampling. Funny but most of the wines smelled the same. I did discover I enjoyed the fruity white wines more than the red ones so our visit wasn't a total bust. Honestly though I think girlfriend is just making excuses to go drinking with a buddy. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my silly questions.

    Ick.

I have to admit, I'm not really into white wines anymore. I started out with them as most winos do, but over time my palate has pulled the snob card and unless it's a really good Sauv Blanc, Pinot Gris or maybe a REALLY REALLY good expensive Chardonnay, I will order Iced Tea before I drink a crappy white.

With that said, Baily seems to specialize in crappy whites. I've never attempted to make my own wine (yet) but I can't imagine that producing something that tastes better than rat piss is that hard to do. Apparently it is for this lil winery, because my taste buds vote permanent boycott on this place.

It's too bad too. The place is suprisingly welcoming in it's sterile feel of decor and the people are super nice working here, but 5 times later, I just can't put my wine buds through that again.

The wines we tried at this place pretty much sucked big time except for 2. One was the Sangiovese and the other was the Port. In fact, the Port was so awesome we couldn't believe how the same winery could've produced it seeing the wines were dismal.

The Sangiovese was at least drinkable compared to the rest sampled, pretty much a waste of time really if you're looking for well defined wines.

Disclaimer: I am not a wine snob. I know very little about wines, have trouble pronouncing Gewurtzraminer, and still mistake motor oil for bad wine. However I know for sure that sweeter and fruitier wines tend to be more agreeable with me. In short, I know what I like--so take it or leave it.

Upon first glance, Baily is perhaps one of the more glamorous looking wineries out here in Temecula. The tasting room is located inside a castle-like building. I am glad someone mentioned the gargoyles in their reviews--I thought these additions to the building were rather quirky too.

The selection of wines seemed standard; nothing stood out though. I found myself grimacing at the taste of many of the wines I tried. Perhaps it was the bitterness or strange after taste, or simply, the heat got to my head---we did go on a ridiculous hot day after all. One particular red stood out--Cabernet Franc. For some reason, that wine did not go well with me at all. After taking a sip, I kept licking the roof of my mouth to rid the poignant and bitter taste. I immediately requested a Cabernet Sauvignon, which helped relieve the experience a bit. Their port was not too bad. As soon as it entered my mouth, I was hit by a rush of intense alcoholic flavors. None of the folks in my group were particularly pleased with it.

On the bright side, they were open for business on 4th of July. The tasting room was gorgeous and well-lit. It really was one of the most beautiful wineries I had ever been. The two guys behind the counter were patient and attentive with our requests. A friend noted that they took the time and care to rinse our glasses in between pours (surprisingly none of the wineries we visited that day had done that). One of them had accidentally gave me back $4.50 even though I handed them a $20 bill for a $3.75 item. He was quick to fix it and proceeded with the transaction accurately sans mucho hassle. Lastly, their souvenir glass is larger compared to most.

Baily is worth your visit for the grand tour in Temecula, though I am doubtful that I will return.

Awesome experience! Beautiful location, great wine, & knowledgeable bartenders. Also when you purchase the $10 tastings, you get a free wine glass with their name on it, very cute. This was my first and only experience with a vineyard in Temecula and it was perfect. Can't wait to go back and compare the vineyards in that neck of the woods, but until then, this one Reigns Supreme. Now back to the wine, honestly I tried every single one, and all, I would pay money for. In fact I did, I bought a bottle for my Mom & Parents-In-Laws. This place is a must in my opinion...

We at lunch at the nearby restaurant (called Carol's).  You can expect to pay $50 for lunch for two people (one glass of wine per person) tip included.

The seating inside is quite nice and has a cool almost Renaissance or gargoyle-like theme.   The seating outside is quite nice as well, and on the 80 degree January day we were out there, we decided to eat outside.

I ordered the Reuben and g/f ordered the chicken sandwich.  We split a side of sweet potato fries.  I think she ordered the Riesling and i ordered the Rose.   The food was excellent.  Highly recommended for lunch (about $12-13 per plate).  I thought both wines were quite nice, but, being a Rose guy, I thought the Rose was the better of the two.  It was excellent ($17 per bottle at the wine shop).

On to the tasting room, we tried 5 or 6 wines for $5.  Not bad, as I've heard/read the price for tasting is $10 to $15 at some places.  If there weren't so many 909'ers going out there to get drunk, I could see the owners charging nothing, but I think the pricing is a deterrent to keep folks from drowning their upside down Corona mortgages in a bottle of wine......

The reds (forgot what I tried, they were simply unimpressive and unforgettable to me).  Sorry.  The reds at Hart blew these out of the water.  The whites (Semillon, and Riesling) were good, the Riesling was quite nice.  Once you've tasted the Rieslings of Germany, it's hard for anything to come close.

The Rose to me, is the BEST wine at this place.  I love Rose's of Cabernet.  You get a lighter wine with a hint of red wine.  Refreshing for warm days (as it was when we visited).

The muscat was quite nice (I think it's 11% alcohol content, a little high for me), and when we were there, was on sale -- an entire case for $36 bucks ($3 a bottle)!  So we picked one up and I guess we'll have enough sweet muscat to last for a year!

If you're in Temecula, this is a good stop for lunch (not too cheap, though).  The place seems unpretentious and unassuming.  Have fun!

This is the first vineyard I visited in Temecula.  We drove here on sat around noon to do some house hunting and ended up making a trip of it by going to Bailey's.  It wasn't crowded and the employees were friendly.  The wine tastings are $10 for 5 wines and you keep the 19 oz tasting glass.  The prices for wine by the bottle are reasonable.  There is no tour at this winery because the grapes are actually grown somewhere else.  I was a bit disappointed by this.

After the wine tasting we got lunch at Carol's the restaurant, which is open 11:30 to 2:30.  There is open air seating outside that is beautiful if the weather is nice.  The architecture is beautiful.  Overall it was a really enjoyable wine tasting experience.

We came here for lunch and wine tasting. I totally enjoyed the atmosphere. Check the lunch hours as it is only open certain times. The restaurant (Carol's, I believe) was very nice, had a Gargoyle theme with knights, pretty small but perfect.

Service-It was a group of us we had reservations were seated right away! The waitress kept on checking back up on us, and kept my wine glass full!

Menu-They have a good selection, a little bit of everything for everyone. I had a cashew salmon salad, yummy! Wine selection was perfect also! Cost was not bad, priced accordingly!

I have been meaning to go back. The folks at the winery were my favorite, the little old men were so sweet and very generous with the tastings!

I enjoyed the Meritage the best. I was already pretty content from the morning's tasting and the glass of Meritage for lunch, so I skipped on the tasting. The most reasonable tasting of all the wineries we visited--$5 for 6 tastes. Miss C splurged and signed up for the premium tasting for $10 and you get a 19 oz glass versus a 12 oz. The tasting is still only a 1 oz pour, but the glass is nicer.

They were having an incredible Riesling sale by the case. An entire case for $48! I managed to convince C to split a case with me. What am I going to do with 12 bottles of riesling? Lovely white and I can't wait to enjoy once the weather gets warmer.

I have never been wine tasting here, but I did come to Baily Vineyard for brunch and the view really took my breath away. The brunch was lovely because we sat in a tent that was right on the vineyard and I could see grape vines for miles. I truly felt like I was Italy. The brunch was very upscale and it was expensive, but that view was worth it.

I ordered an omelet and it came with salmon and goat cheese. I was not a fan of the omelet at all, it was too heavy and I don't like eating
several animal by-products in one meal. Thankfully, the champagne mimosas were tasty. Oh, did I mention this place has a good view?

And when you dine at Baily, the view is what you are paying for and it is worth every penny.

Came here on a Saturday around 1:30pm and had a great experience!  It wasn't crowded at all (maybe about 8 other customers) and we had plenty of time to chat with the gentleman who poured our wine.  I asked lots of questions and he answered them all with great knowledge and charm :)

You get to select your tastes from a list, which I think is nice but not necessary.  They had a fabulous dry riesling (which still had a good sweetness) on sale for just $10 a bottle!

An awesome bonus is that the tasting glass, which you get to keep, is 19oz =D  So now I have a nice big red wine glass!  Hooray!

I am a little amazed at the previous negative comments about Baily Wine, it is probably my second favorite brand in TVWGA, after Palomar.

I should mention I am employed by another winery in the appellation (which is not Palomar)  ;-)

Baily's restaurant is probably my favorite stop of all the wineries up here when I am looking for a great lunch. I have never had a bad meal or even a mediocre bottle of wine from them...and I have sampled my fair share.

Their wine is top notch and worth the premium price.

    This place is awesome!

So imagine this... it's this Asian family walking in with a very short mum, a hardass looking dad, me, and my shy boyfriend who is allergic to alcohol.  We walk to the marble bar (very nice) and the pourer there is wearing this garish tiki shirt with no pretensions.

My father and I order separate tasting menus.  When the pourer asks my mom if she wants to try a menu, she smiles widely and blurts out "I'm already drunk!" and wanders off for the next fifteen minutes.  This was our forth stop.  He was extremely honest and friendly.  He even slipped us some port even though it wasn't on our cheaper tasting menu.

He handed me the merlot (I'm a redwine girl) and he looks at me.  I reply "It tastes like ass."  He laughs and agrees and continues to pour me things that he thinks I would like and I do.

But if anything...the best Rose I have ever tasted and the Reisling is delightful also.  If you are in Temecula make it a point to come here.

Baily's white wines really impressed me this trip.  Their Montage white (Sauv Blanc/Semillon) was really good, as was their Semillon, and I loved their Rose of Cabernet.  Excellent!  Cab Franc and Meritage never disappoint when it comes to red, they are still really good.  Baily is a little more reserved in attitude, but it's still a nice relaxing experience, and if you come in warmer weather, the castle effect seems to make it even cooler in the nice, air conditioned tasting room.  Love their wine glasses too, which you get to keep.

We decided to visit Baily Winery because in the past, we've had good experiences with small family owned wineries. We were not disappointed.

The gentlman behind the bar was nice enough to let us sample the entire flight of ten wines versus picking and choosing just five of them. We started with a white called Montage and we were instantly hooked! We leisurely continued to sample the rest of the wines, comparing them to the Montage. After about an hour of tasting we decided to have lunch at their restaurant.

The food at the restaurant turned out to be okay, nothing special.

After some deliberation, we decided to buy a case of the Montage since we couldn't stop talking about how much we liked it and because it was also on sale ($60/case).

We recommend visiting Baily and if you do, take your time and enjoy it. The people there are nice, the wines are good and you might find a good deal on a wine you discover there.

Very good Cab Franc, and my pastrami sandwich at Carol's was delicious.

We really like this winery. The servers are always beyond nice and helpful. They are very generous with their conversation and with the wine:) My husband and I enjoy the 2008 Dry Riesling and the 2006 Merlot. We are not wine experts we just buy what we like. We had the best conversation with the server. He was one of the highlights of the day. He was witty, knowledgeable and sweet. He kept us fully entertained while we were sipping away. Overall a very nice vineyard to visit.

Baily's has a castle like setting. It's very cold and concrete inside. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The Riesling is pretty good here, as is the  Port.

I like this place.  The architecture is solitaire like but nice.  The wine to good, at least for me.  I liked their port. They were pleasant to talk to.

The two that really etch anything in my palate were the port and merlot. Loved the port but the merlot was ... not like any other merlot. Kind of hard to describe. Less berry, more BOOM. You either hate it or love it, I still can't decide. My basic tasting turned into a premium for free -- can't beat that!
