Bailey's Sports Grille
1 review for Bailey's Sports Grille
All I wanted to do on the first Sunday of football season was find a Sports Bar that was showing the Eagles game (granted, I hadn't done my homework very well - the game was nationally televised on Fox; but more on that later...). Bailey's Sports Grille sounded like my best bet in the area. So I donned my Eagles shirt, hopped in the car, and made it to the bar about 10 minutes before kickoff.
If this was a legitimate sports bar, all of the televisions would have been ready to go well before the time I got there, and they would have certainly had their NFL package up and running by the first day of the season. Unfortunately, this was NOT a legitimate sports bar. Not only were they late in getting the NFL package (they wouldn't have it for another week or two), they couldn't even pull it together enough to figure out how to get the nationally televised games up on screen. Ten minutes after kickoff, they still couldn't get Fox to work on their televisions. I left feeling utterly disgusted. What kind of establishment WAS this? I guess you can't expect much from a bar located underneath the freeway overpass.
FYI, I ended up at Sam's near Vanderbuilt to watch the rest of the games that day - now THAT is a sports bar. They even label each television with what game will be shown on that particular tv, and no matter who you're rooting for, you'll find fellow fans to cheer with. The food there is tasty, too...
