This place is the epitome of a Vermont Country Store.  They sell everything from pizza to homemade baked goods to wine to trinkets.  The highlight for me was going in there after snowboarding all day and grabbing a slice of pizza.  I was so impressed at how good the crust was!  Their cookies are also really good and fresh, and warm out-of-the-oven when we bought them!  Yum!  Definitely a charming place, and worth the stop!

Love the atmosphere in here: it's positively gorgeous and very inviting.  Downstairs is more of a grocery/wine shop, while the upstairs rooms are filled with VT goods and rooms displaying all sorts of odd antique goods.  There's not a lot of info that comes along with most of what's sold here: antique glass Hood milk bottle, $8.  But everything sold here is super-cute, and while I wasn't too tempted to buy any of it, if you're an antique hunter, it'd be a mistake not to explore here (though one gets the impression that it's just a bit too touristy).

We bought some maple jerky and a loaf of fresh maple oat bread -- the latter was very good, and within 24 hours was almost gone.

I also had "The Gobbler," a turkey/stuffing/cranberry sauce sandwich which was tasty of not a little bit average.  It wasn't our first choice for lunch, but we were hungry and there aren't really very many options here.  We certainly could've done worse.

One thing for sure is that Vermont country stores have character, and Bailey's is no exception.  Part convenience, part deli, part bakery, part nick knack, and part wine store, Bailey's is an interesting place with wonderful stuff.  Try the homemade roast turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce and stuffing, or go for any of the delicious pies, cakes and cookies.  Their bagels are fresh and so everything else here.  I couldn't imagine this sleepy little town without it.  Don't leave without getting a few whoopie pies for the road.  Gotta love road whoopie!
