I have been coming here for YEARS and I have never had a bad meal.  It's not spectacular food (how could it be, being owned by the Olive Garden people), but it's always tasty and it definitely has unique items on it.  Their appetizers are divine, their house mojito is delicious, but their best entree is gone (crispy chicken salad).
It's fun in the summer when they open up the patios and have the steel drum bands.

Being from California, we were looking to eat somewhere different that wasn't available in California.

After our excursion to Nordie's, we headed over to Bahama Breeze. I love the Carribean plantation style decor. It's basically your typical Chili's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden but with a Carribean twist, which I found refreshing and fun.

Mojitos...I had the pineapple, mom had the mango and they were both delicious and refreshing! Both had fresh  muddled fruit and my sister's Bahama Breeze was on point.

Despite what others say, I really liked the food. My parents shared the paella, which I found to be really good, by american standards. My sister and I shared the rib plate and while I didn't really care for the guava bbq sauce, overall it did its job.

The jerk chicken wings are the bomb AND they leave the tip on, which is my favorite part!

I wish we had more time in Seattle, so I could have gone to the bar side for the happy hour.

Bahama Breeze please come to the Bay Area!!

I wish I could say that the food was as good as the atmosphere of this place. It's beautiful inside and out but I must say, I was very disappointed when I ate the food. The fish was over cooked and very dry.
The deserts and drinks are really good along with the appitizers,
but the actuall meals? not so much.

SOUTHCENTER PARKING LOT?!

Red Robin, Oliver Garden, AppleBee's, and a splash of the Jamaican theme going on SMOOSHED all in one is how to sum up Bahama Breeze.

It's always an "IN BETWEEN" with this place. Don't love it or hate it. Just settle for it.

I never understood why they built this restaurant in the middle of SouthCenter Mall's parking lot. Weird location. I've been to amazing and legit Caribbean restaurants in bigger cities and wouldn't classify this place as Caribbean just because they identify basic foods with "jamaican" infront of the meal. Uhm, NO.

I've been here a few times and have enjoyed it more each time. The atmosphere is very "family friendly" and never had to wait too long to get a table. The hosts and wait-staff are on point and very very nice. Although they already added the gratuity fee to your bill I still like to give extra. Very nice servers.

The first time I came here I wasn't pleased with the food. The cuban flat bread appetizer was okay. Big portion for a cheap appetizer but I only had two slices and called that quits. I ordered the Breeze Wood-Grilled Chicken Breast and wasn't too thrilled. The description of this meal says "Moist and tender with citrus butter sauce, fresh broccoli and cinamon mashed sweet potatoes". I don't recall it being moist, all i remember was that it was kind of dry. I love the drinks here. Their blended drinks are very delicious.

The one dish I really reallly recommend and enjoy is the Calypso Shrimp Linguine. Absolutely AMAZING! Definately worth the money for the taste. I also liked the Firecracker Shrimp (appetizer). And the drink I've enjoyed with my meal was a Bahamarita, SO GOOD for only $5.50!

Might I add... the deserts here are off the chains! Chocolate Island was so good. The deserts clearly have no ties with anything Caribbean though.

I've been here a few times but only once sober so I can't tell you much about the food.  Hell, I can't remember the time I was there sober.  I do remember It does have a nice 'beachy' feel to it and is a fun place to be on a sunny day.
I can tell you that if you happen to be sitting in the open area that the bar overlooks, prepare to have 'hoverers' around.  They actually stand a few inches away from you waiting for you to get up and leave so they can grab your table. I found this extremely rude and ordered another round of drinks to make them go away.  it worked. They hovered elsewhere.
I'm going to check it out this weekend with my Sister and will update you.  I'll try to stay sober this time but it's not very likely.

I hit the Breeze Saturday and had a bombay martini with lime, it was deliciously good.  We had to head out so only had one appetizer - the firecracker shrimp which we inhaled - very delicious. While I was waiting for my sister, I was the only female at the bar - the other 12 were all men and every single last one of them was drinking a foo-foo drink.  A very unusual sight indeed.

Well... at least the drinks were strong.

My expectations were fairly low - island-style decor that does that to me. I was expecting a Red Robin goes Caribbean and that is about what we got in terms of price and quality. The menu was interesting, and I felt fairly hopeful looking around the dinning room at all the happy diners. Overall, it is very kid and large group friendly.

Half the food at our table was much better than expected. The other half was either very sloppily plated and/or over-cooked. Service was excellent. Fast, to the point and not ridiculous cheery, which I appreciate. I'm go out to eat not build a personal relationship with my server.... Well, most of the time anyway.

I will give Bahama Breeze another try, if I'm down South Center way, preferably at happy hour so I can focus on the drinking with the food as a garnish on my table.

Let's make this quick and painless. I've been here a total of 4 times since it opened and it gets worse every time. I don't come here because I expect the food to be authentic or awesome- i come here because i'm brain dead from running uber errands and just want to sit a bit, knock down a drink and eat a little.

The last and final time I was here it was painful. We sat in the bar area to be at one with the alcohol. We ordered the crab claws as starters, which was basically dry even though it was sitting in a bowl of butter. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta aka overcooked pasta and asparagus topped with a clump of chicken/cheese and watery sauce. The boy ordered jerk salmon (tasted like salmon in bbq sauce) with coconut rice- uhm tastes like mexican rice.

The only thing that was a hit were the plantains but one of that many items? Game over.

We visited Bahama Breeze on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. Even calling 30 minutes ahead for a reservation, once we got there it was still a 30 minute wait.

The decor was alright, very "island"-y. The food wasn't really good, and there were only 2-3 options on their expansive menu for vegetarians (including salads). It was overpriced for what it was, really. The drinks were really yummy, but had little to no liquor in them at all. The desserts are really good, but nothing you couldn't get from an Applebees or something. The service is so-so, could have been worse, could have been better.

The only real reason I'm giving it 2 stars was because our waitress, while busy and not really that attentive, put up with us and our obnoxious demands and remarks. She got a nice tip from us that night!

The food is good but I'm not sure how authentically it relates to the Caribbean as far as recipe goes.

They have an excellent orange beer that I love.

The service is good but they can lose track of you once the place starts getting packed and it tends to be a little spendy.

I like the atmosphere/island feel that you get from the decor and staff.  Coming here always reminds me that I need a vacation because it looks so much like a beach hut/resort.

Far from true Caribbean food but definitely a crowd pleaser. While Bahama Breeze is a chain, I'll put it one step above eating at a Crapplebee's.

Our experience here wasn't any different than most of the reviews. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was good but not particularly outstanding. Having lived in Florida, I can speak from taste experiences that true Caribbean food has more spice and flavor than some of the dishes they serve here. I didn't order a drink but my parents did and loved their drinks.

It's convienent to Southcenter and rather large so the wait is never too long. I do have to say...the bathrooms here are nice. Very clean and pretty. I know that it's an odd thing to say but so many chains seem to have forgotten that they need to have clean restrooms.

I took my sister and her kids here after picking her up from a late flight last night.  It was between here and 13 coins.  The drinks were tasty and weak--exactly as I expected.  I had the red pepper chicken.  The chicken was very tasty, but the garlic mashed potatoes were gross.  My sister had the shrimp and lobster pasta which she liked.

This was a good late night option for a kid friendly choice, but I wouldn't go here again if it was earlier in the day.

LOVE the calamari appetizer. It's really good. I've been there many times, I never get disappointed. Here are some good ones :

Habanero Wings (It's a lot of wings- so make sure you have 3 -4 ppl sharing this appetizer)

Coconut Shrimp (Appetizer)

Almond Crusted Salmon was also really tasty and crunchy. The sauce was mouthwatering- make sure you have them with Cinnamon mashed Sweet Potatoes- you won't be disappointed.

Dulce de Leche cheesecake ~ this one is covered with caramel sauce. It's good.

I can't believe I'm writing a review about this place but here it goes.....

So, I've gone here a few times (with work for lunch or a birthday party)... my experience has always been lackluster and negative...but never have I just gone here to have dinner.

I was actually quite surprised... YES, it's so commercial.. the music, the weird feeling of being at an amusement park or on a sappy cruise (weird I know...)....  So, it was Friday night and it was late and we were tired....and we were in dreadful Southcenter... yikes.  So, my boyfriend suggested it, it was nearby and I had never had dinner there before....  So, we walk in and the wait was 50 minutes (and it was 8:30pm)... So, we decided to wait in the bar.

There are 2 bars here because the place is huge.  Luckily, a booth opened up in the bar so we ended up waiting maybe 20 minutes tops.  The wait staff offered to take our buzzer thing back to the hostess (which I thought was very nice).  We ended up having a couple of drinks with dinner... they were o.k. pretty strong for being a place like that.  We had a very tasty "fire-roasted shrimp" for an appetizer. It was appropriately seasoned and the bread that came with it was freshly baked (impressive)..  I had the chicken/steak kabobs and he had the paella.  I actually really liked my dinner and so did he... Why oh why did this place actually have to be good??  Maybe it was a good night.....but as I looked around at other customers.... everyone seemed to be pretty happy with their food... we didn't wait too long for the food either.. In fact, I felt kind of sorry for the wait staff... primarily because they are forced to draw a "tropical" picture on our doggie bag/box..

I had a good experience.. my fingers are crossed it'll be just as good in the future (yes I will be back)...

One more pina colada please?

I've been here several times. I love the decor; it creates a fun-filled tropical atmosphere. I've never had Caribbean food before so I'm not sure how I'm suppose to gauge the food here. I love the dishes though! Everything is tasty, and the portion is fair. I normally come in for lunch and end up ordering their lunch special. I end up getting the jerk prepared salmon with their mashed potatoes. Oh yes, to wash all the food down, I sip on a pina colada!  The drinks are amazing here! I highly recommend ordering a drink to compliment the meal.

I came here once after picking up my gf from the airport since it was nearby and my friend and I were starving. I remember they had a pretty good variety of menu items, and the food was quite good. The service I remember was average...nothing stood out as good or bad. However, I do remember the price being a little expensive for what you got. Again not a place i'd drive out of my way to go eat at.

There's not a lot of places I'd go to eat in the southcenter area.. besides here. I love how this place looks and how big it is.. considering it used to be in the spot of a movie theater. Their parking lot is huge yet it can be filled up quickly around dinner time so a big tip is to get here early! Never had I waited for more than 15 mins before being seated.

Their food is great! Here's what I've had there so far (and as you can tell I come here quite often)...

West Indies Patties: puff pockets filled with beef and a side of sour cream.. a tasty appetizer

Roasted Cuban bread: almost like a bruschetta but a different twist with big slices of tomatoes and cilantro.

Seafood Paella: sausage, shrimp, fish, mussels, chicken, and rice.. seasoning is great and the portion is almost enough for 2 people

Mahi Mahi: grilled with a light orange glaze and perfect with garlic mashed potatoes

Tilapia: almond crusted with a light lemond butter sauce that's wonderful with their sweet mashed potatoes.. I swear it tastes like it can be a dessert too with the cinnamon and sweetness. :)

Loster and shrimp linguine pasta: tastes very good, wished there were more lobster than shrimp but very satisfying.

West Indies Ribs: a dish to dig your hands into and enjoy the savory sauce on the meat with a side of fries... probably wouldn't pay the high price of it when you can try their seafood dishes for the same price.

Ahi Tuna: Seared rare tuna with wasabi cream and served with their island rice and vegetables... to me it was a very good dish with good portions of the seared tuna and tastes great with wasabi cream.

Bahamian Grilled Steak Kabobs: basically skewered steak with big pieces of mushrooms, onions, peppers and squash served wit h island rice, a very good dish but wished they would cook the onions a little bit longer which still were raw.

Filet Mignon: tender piece of steak served with garlic mashed potatoes but the price for it isn't worth for the amount you get.

Margarita Chicken: cooked with a shot of Jose Cuervo tequila, the flavor of the chicken is yummy and the meat is tender and not too dry and it came with a side of veggies and island rice.

I've also had their strawberry lemonade which is nothing really special besides the fact that its sweeten with some sugar cane.

Service itself was always good experience, never had one complaint about the service, they are all friendly once you walk right into the restaurant. Maybe the only complaint I have about the restaurant itself is the how the lights are pretty dim and if your light is broken then you're pretty much eating in the dark with a light shine of light from the next table.. (its happened to me) but that only happened when the sunlight was going away and we were just finishing up. :)

I personally think Bahama Breeze is great!  I was first introduced to it by my parents, who are both big fans of the restaurant (In fact, they introduced it to me in Las Vegas!).

I think the whole place has a super fun feel.  The design of the restaurant fits their food theme perfectly.  The waiters and waitresses have always been very nice and friendly, which adds to the upbeat feel of the place.

And the food?  The food is delicious!  I personally love the Bahamian Grilled Kabob with chicken and now that I've experimented a bit, I now get the Kabob every time I go!  I love it!

The one downside is that when it gets a little busy, it's hard to flag down the waiters for help.  It's a huge restaurant and sometimes the waiters are too busy running back and forth to realize that they are forgetting about a table or two.

I also wish that it wasn't located so far away.  Southcenter is a little far to go just for lunch when you live in North Seattle...or downtown even for that matter.  It'd be great if they added another location further up north.

Good place for a fancier-than-average dinner on a weekend or something. Not sure how "authentic" the food is, but it's pretty good just the same. I had the seared Ahi (one of my favorite dishes) and they certainly did it justice. The price wasn't too bad as well. They have a huge open space, with the bar in the middle. Kind of tiki-style atmosphere, which would be neat to take out of town guests to. It's in the mall parking lot, but don't let that fool you. Parking is a pain, because of how busy the dang mall is.

Vessel or Bahama Breeze? Vessel or Bahama Breeze? Hmmm, I don't know they are SO similar. Gosh, since our car happens to be parked in front of BB, I guess we can try it out. Oh, wow, they have 2 separate bar, 19 thousand tables and their own zip code.

At least I got a nice solid mojito and Cadillac Margarita out of the deal.

Arrived at Seatac so hungry my insides were eating themselves. Found out my luggage was MIA and just wanted to drown my sorrows in a margarita glass. I suggested to my friends who picked me up that we go to Bahama Breeze since it was on the way home and I was on the verge of passing out.

First of all, this place is frackin' huge. It looks like a resort. When we walked in, we noticed an abundance of gray-hairs, or elderly or mature folks, or whatever you want to call them. I didn't know what to make of the place, but I honestly didn't care. We sat down and were greeted by a friendly waitress who explained the theme of the restaurant: food with a Caribbean flair. She was super sweet, but DUH! Who goes to a place called Bahama Breeze expecting anything but Caribbean themed food?

I was excited about the price of their margarita -- $5.75 -- but soon found out why it was so cheap. Is there alcohol in this thing??? I'm pretty sure I didn't ask for a virgin one.

My Breeze salad was awesome. It had tons of veggies and a tasty fruity vinaigrette. I got the combo that came with 3 coconut shrimp. The shrimp were just so-so. My friends both had chicken sandwiches and said that they were OK. We all agreed we probably wouldn't be back unless we happened to be shopping at Southcenter or were on the way to or from the airport.

The bill for all 3 of us was under $40, so the prices are reasonable. But it's not enough for me to go back.

I have spent many summer evenings here enjoying Bahamaritas and Creole Baked Goat Cheese. I love going with groups and sitting outside although you have to fight for a table if you want to sit outside. It's nice that they have a heater out there, too. Their coconut prawns are mighty tasty as well!

One of my favorite restaurants. Their entire menu is amazing but I suggest the coconut shrimp and filet mignon. Enjoy a couple of bahamaritas as well, those things are trouble!

I think their waiter's should have to attend a mandatory art class however. My palm tree hammock faintly resembled a smiling stoner.

Please note: I only came here for a few drinks. I didn't eat and I can't comment on the food. The service however was awful. I sat for a full 30 min. before they even talked with me. It got the point where I wasn't going to leave until someone said something to me. I may very well still be there if they hadn't finally gotten around to me... That said, the beer was about average in price, but they only filled it 3/4 of the way to the top on both beers. I'm assuming this is just plain lazy on their part rather then trying to cheat me, but either way, I wouldn't recommend going here for drinks. Again, I can't comment on the food so take your own risks, just bring snacks in case they forget about you.

Update 8/17/07: Stopped for lunch. Wanted to give the food a try. Limited menu for lunch with less then stellar choices. I got the Cuban sandwich and ate about 1/3 before I totally lost any appetite that I had.

This place gets packed. From your retirees, to your business types sharing a table with co-workers, this place is continually busy no matter what hour I've had a meal here.

No qualms concernring the dishes. Despite the fact that the menu is a little thin as far as choices are concerned, the flavor suits the setting and ambiance of a Bahama retreat. Actually, what do I really know? The only "Bahama" I've seen is in movies and television shows. So, on that level, very much authentic based on my own "experiences".

Coconut shrimp with the dipping sauce and the seafood linguine something or other for lunch were both great. Again, food has never been disappointing. Not exactly jaw-dropping, but never disappointing.

3-stars for the less than inspiring service received from the wait staff.

I guess the industrialized interior of this restaurant is supposed to evoke feelings of being in the Bahamas.  The food shows very little influence of the restaurants name and is overpriced for TGI Friday's style food.

This place has inspired the chef in me.  I am desperately in love with their Creole baked goat cheese (stuffed bell pepper) appetizer and now make my own at home!  It's down next to South Center Mall, and has plenty of parking including free valet service!

If you come here on the weekend, be prepared for a decent wait. You can call ahead for reservations, or just kill time in the bar!  Service could be better, but the food makes up for it, giving you time to digest it all!

They have good drinks (the drink list never ends!), not the fastest service due to their busyness, but go out by the firepit and order an appy and drink and you'll be fine until you are seated.  The meals are large, plenty for one and leftovers or maybe two people.  I enjoy the Pan Seared Salmon Pasta, and the other fish dishes.  Their desserts are up there at the top of my list, with a Chocolate Island and Jose's Chocolate Tres Leches with fresh strawberries, which really makes it for me.

Definitely check this place out and make sure you have room for an appetizer dinner and dessert, it's worth it!  If you get full, the server will get it to-go for you and draw happy tropical pictures on the lid for ya!

Damn that's a lot of sweet potatoes! Which I love, by the way. But that's still a lot!
Great fish & cheesy atmosphere with tropical live music in the middle of the Seattle 'burbs. The staff was really friendly, the fish was fresh and good (a bit on the greasy side), and the price was right. Good if you live in the area, not necessarily a 'destination' joint.

Tasty (but slightly dry) almond-encrusted salmon. This was quite sufficient to satisfy my urge for fish after spending a day at the Hiram Chittenden Locks seeing live Salmon. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but my dinner companions raved over the chocolate island dessert. Although it was 10:30pm on a Saturday night, the parking lot was packed, as was the dining area, but we still were seated in reasonable time. The person who brought out our entrees (not our waitress) apologized for the length of time it took to bring them out and said dessert would be on the house, but evidently she didn't communicate it with our waitress so none of that happened. We didn't really care/notice the wait, so it wasn't a big deal. As generic chain-restaurants go, my first experience at Bahama Breeze told me it's passably good food, and I'd go there again if it was suggested, although I can't say it has any inkling of Bahama or Breeze influence.

I've eaten here a couple of times. The first time was right after it first opened and I was just starting to explore new food options/ideas, ie, I was breaking the pizza and Mexican food only diet I used to live on. I thought it was pretty good that first time. The restaurant itself is brightly decorated and in the evening they have Caribbean music playing outside when you walk in. Once inside, if music is playing, it would be hard to hear as this place is usually pretty busy. The service is alright, but nothing spectacular. The last time I dined here, I was underwhelmed. One of our vendors at work wanted to take us all out to eat, but his flight was at 7pm. We kicked around the idea of a seafood option on the waterfront, but then others decided a place near the airport would be a better option. I was not in on that decision. We got there around 4pm and the place was pretty dead. The hostess sat us at a table and our server came and took our drink orders. Then he took forever in bringing out the drinks. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was really quite blah. I don't know what was missing, but it was just really blah tasting. It needed some sort of flavor. If you're going to call yourself Caribbean cuisine, make sure you know what you're talking about, because I wouldn't call this Caribbean cuisine. It's all American food with Caribbean food names. Also, the drinks are all over-priced, but I guess that's what you should expect when dining at a chain.

Shamefully sad little suburban, mall parking lot shit hole. Fried, uniform schlock with outrageous prices.  Monument to suburban decrepit sadness. Food and life as pavement commodity.

"meh"
i was there when it first opened up. the service is disappointing and the food isn't all that jazz. the bartenders do what they're supposed to- i liked my tequila shot hanging on the side of my mug... but that's about it. the prices were outrageous for the quality and taste they were serving. nothing jumps out in taste from any of the entrees...
i thought it was just a rough start, but i went back years later and still came out of Bahama Breeze unhappy. the service is seriously lacking everytime i go there.

I've eaten here many times before and it's always been good, even with big groups, but tonight, for the three of us, it was simply fantastic.

Lots of Yelpers have complained about the service; all I can say is, ask for Natalie. She gave us some of the best restaurant service I've had this year. Friendly, helpful, perfect at keeping our drinks refilled, great at wrapping up our leftovers for us and labeling the containers, and knowledgeable about the whole menu, she made it easy for my fiance and stepdaughter to enjoy their first visit to the restaurant.

We really enjoyed the food, too. We had:
West Idies Patties -- a poorly named but absolutely delicious pastry pocket filled with spicy beef... they were so good that we ordered a second plate of this appetizer
Chicken Caesar Salad -- cheap and really tasty
West Indies Ribs -- one of us had them with the cinnamon sweet potatoes and the other with garlic mashed; we shared a side of asparagus. Fantastic!
Key Lime Pie with brown sugar crust and perfect meringue -- this is no mere SLICE... they bring you 1/4 of the pie. No joke! Easily shareable.
Banana Nut Supreme which John said tasted homemade and it was presented beautifully. It's one of the first things in a long time to make me sorry that I'm allergic to nuts.
Dulche De Leche Cheesecake for the birthday girl; they wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce on the rim of the plate, brought it complete with birthday candle, and apologized for not singing. Honestly, we were thrilled! Not only is this cheesecake probably their best dessert, but the sauces that it's decorated with, raspberry and mango, are sweet and tangy, a perfect contrast.

We had coffee, soda, ice tea and a virgin strawberry pina colada too. The whole thing came to a reasonable $100 (roughly) including tax. We have leftovers enough for at least another meal.

Best of all, to our complete shock, at 8:45 on a Saturday, there was NO wait at all for a party of 3. Dang. That's not my usual experience at Bahama Breeze, although they are happy to do call-ahead seating; that isn't actually making a reservation, it's just a way to put your name on the list for a table before leaving home.

My other favorite is to come here for lunch; their 1/2 lb Angus burger and onion rings really hit the spot with some of the best onion rings in the Seattle area. Ask for a side of the West Indie ribs barbecue sauce for your rings... it is excellent and goes perfectly with the oniony taste.

I knew I liked it here, but Natalie took it up a notch for us tonight -- and we tipped her handsomely as a result!
