The Bah' Faith is the youngest of the world's independent monotheistic religions. Founded in Persia in 1844, it now has more than 5 million adherents in 236 countries and territories. Bah's come from nearly every national, ethnic and religious background, making the Bah' Faith the second-most widespread religion in the world, according to the 2003 Britannica Book of the Year.

Bah's view all the world's major religions as a part of a single, progressive process through which God reveals His will to humanity. The Founder of the Bah' Faith, Baha'u'llah (1817-1892), is recognized as the most recent in a line of Divine Messengers that stretches back beyond recorded time and includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Zoroaster, Christ and Muhammad. The central theme of Baha'u'llah's message is that humanity is one single race and that the day has come for humanity's unification into one global society. While reaffirming the core ethical principles common to all religions, Baha'u'llah also revealed new laws and teachings to lay the foundations of a global civilization. "A new life," Baha'u'llah declares, "is, in this age, stirring within all the peoples of the earth."

I became a Baha'i when I was 17 in 1981 but I was around the culture due to my older sister since I was about 12.  I remember when the Center was out in the Avenues aka The Sunset Sunset District.

When this building was purchased it was a very big and glorious things.  A few weeks ago I visited and even though I was only on the 1st floor I was still in awe.

I have performed on the stage...been a stagehand. The theater hosts alot of events.  http://sfbahai.org/eve...

I had my 21st birthday in the large grand ballroom upstairs. I have slept soundly in the Library.

We used to turn out the lights and play hide-n-seek.....play on the elevator...... poor building.

I was sort of sad to see the street so run down. There is a pot club next door.  I have sort of mixed feelings about that.

oh well I will be spending alittle more time at this spot. Look for Infodiva in the Mission. Orale.
