Bagelicious is amazing!
A friend took me there and the food was fresh and tasty (they use Boar's Head Products -- high end meats and cheeses). I love going to family-owned delis and cafes, and this is certainly a great one! From the efficient and friendly staff, to the adorably cute pictures of the owner's kids among piles of bagels, it was simply a nice place to stop in for breakfast or lunch (they close around 2pm, I believe). I would definitely go back. -

Bagelicious makes some pretty good bagels. I have a few friends who live by these bagels and bagel sandwiches, so I ventured out between classes last week.
After standing in front of the menu boards for an awkwardly long time, I decided to go with a wheat bagel with avocado, hummus, and tomato. While the combination might sound a little strange, the flavors and textures went perfectly together, and it made for a great lunch. I also got a plain bagel for later and a few extra to bring back for some friends.
To describe the bagels: They're nice and soft. They're fresh. And they're sizable. They range from standard plain and poppy seed to the more interesting, like jalapeno and french toast. I could use a little more crunch on the outside (I love it when I can get a good bagel that stands on its own, with a slight crunch, but not like that crunch you get from toasting it), but overall, these bagels are very good. The prices are also very reasonable, and there's a bunch of bagel/sandwich options to choose from - plus chips, sides, coffees, sodas, and unsweetened iced tea.
I actually tried to stop in last semester, but they close in the early afternoon, and I got there too late. With an earlier class schedule, I'm looking forward to stopping in more for lunch/late breakfasts. -

The bagels were delicious here! We tried an assortment. I wish I had tried the corn bagel. Anyways, they were fresh and just crispy enough. I ate about three of them for brunch -- yummy!

Bagelicious are my favorite bagels of the moment in CT ..
I was way too early coming in to work this morning and decided to get a quick nosh instead of showing up 50 minutes early. Bagelicious was well worth the 10 minute trip out of my way. The place is much bigger than your average bagel shop, with lots of tables to eat at. The guys behind the counter were nice and friendly, The bagels all looked good, i got a few to take home for later and had an egg and cheese this morning and a coffee - it was good, nice and crunchy bagel, well cooked eggs, nice gooey melty cheese - the coffee was good, strong and hot. They do all sorts of wraps and sandwiches too, I have to get over there and check out lunch soon...
if you are looking for bagels in the area, this is the place to go! -

HEADLINE: From a crusty ex-New Yawker, with my profound prejudices about New York bagels, ... I must say, these are the BEST bagels .... across a broad flavor spectrum .... that I have ever experienced .... outside of Manhattan!!!!
This transplanted ex-New Yorker ... now in California where there is not a decent bagel to be found except for the occasional Noah's Bagels ... was home for the Thanksgiving holiday in hometown Branford, Connecticut.
Kid brother dragged in a bag of bagels Wednesday morning after we had flown into JFK at midnight and drove over the Whitestone and up I-95 in under 90 minutes .... there is a God ... whilst the Connecticut Staties found other prey than me all, along, the way .... but I digress.
We awakened in sleep deprivation mode to a large brown paper bag full of complex carbohydrates and seasonings and schmears that were orgasmic to the senses on many, many levels. Coffee was supplied by one of the SIX Dunkie Donuts now in force in town ... another matter entirely... but, Oh God, so good.
First, let me apprise you of the quality of the bagel itself. It is ALL about the crust. A true NYC bagel's crust MUST fight and endure against the mandible ... it is chewy to the point of crunchy.
This little place has this down to a tee. Fabulous texture with the crust.
Next ... SHOW ME THE SEASONINGS!!!
The Magic Pouch contains the following variations of carbs and toppings:
Several Everythings
Several Onions
Several Salteds
Several Poppy Seed
Next, accompanying these fabulous globules of carbohydrates were plastic containers of what we ex-New Yorkers like to refer to as SCHMEARS
Regular FULL FAT Cream Cheese (2)
Scallion FULL FAT Cream Cheese (2)
Well, let me tell you, the experience was absolutely an 'epiphany'.
I haven't enjoyed a bagel this good in decades since the wife and I worked in Manhattan in the late Nineties.
The CRUST of the bagel was magnificent. Truly crunchy and perfectly up to the Munch, Munch, Munch factor so necessary to true New York style bagels.
The Everythings were spectacular as were the Onions.
All were consumed the very first day by all relatives with the requisite schmears.
The Scallion cream cheese schmear went particularly well with the Onion bagels
Finally, Friday morning arrived over the holiday weekend and my kid brother says ............ "let's drive up to Cheshire, in the rain, to get another bag o' bagels to bring home .... let's drive a 40 mile round trip to bring bagels home ........ "
I said ... "Let's go!!!!!" ... That's how good these bagels are!!!!!!!. YES, I'll drive to Cheshire for a fabulous bagel and schmear ... I WILL!!! 7:30 AM (4:30 AM Pacific Body Clock Time) and I'm out da' door to go drivin' for a bag o' bagels worth their weight in gold!!!!
The only disappointment I had in picking up that morning's supplies was the fact that the Lox schmear wasn't up to NYC snuff in terms of the Lox component .... and ... I didn't recognize that there was a Jalapeno Bagel special that morning until we were headed out the door ... arghhhhhh ... I truly needed to bring that bad boy home!
Quinnipiac College students .... "this place is the bombe" ......... seriously. -

I go for the bagels, my daughter for the chocolate chip ones. My son is a fan of the Belgian waffles. Can't go wrong. The owner, Andrew, has a habit of visiting and sitting with the customers..... great touch. Very warm and friendly place.

Friendly and courteous staff. Their bagels are delicious and I really like having their chicken salad with lettuce and tomato on a whole wheat bagel. Generous portions too.

Ohh where to begin! My love for bagels brings me back to Bagelicious every weekend. They are soft on the inside but crispy on the outside, not to mention the delicious variety of cream cheeses that accompany them. The lunch at this restaurant is the highlight- they have the most delicious gourmet chicken salad that I have ever had. I get that on a freshly-made croissant and it's heaven. They also have an impressive delicatessen - they have delicious turkey clubs, egg salad wraps, or really anything you'd probably want out of a deli at lunch time. The staff is ever-so friendly and helpful while the owner, Andrew, takes the time to get to know him customers. GREAT PLACE.

When it's my turn to bring bagels into the office I always stop here because everyone always raves about them. My favorite is the spinach bagel.

What a great place! I've been going for years and I absolutely love it. My staple is the turkey club on a bagel, but I've recently started venturing out because they have great sandwich specials. The staff is always friendly and smiling. Definitely a great place for breakfast or lunch!
