Love their bagels and their sandwiches. The food is always fresh. Favorite lunch place in Millburn.

Great bagels (for New Jersey) and great whitefish salad. Also, the Middle Eastern selection is not bad, if you're in the mood for falafel. What more could you ask for?
The only reason I can't give this place four stars is because of their crummy environmental record: on my last visit, an employee asked if she could take my empty juice bottle. I casually asked if she was going to recycle it, and she spoke back as if I were asking the strangest question imaginable: "No..."
It's really disappointing that a place that goes through so much recyclable material just doesn't put recyclables in a separate bin -- especially noting that there's a public recycling receptacle on the sidewalk immediately outside of the restaurant. -
Review from Steven H.
Have been a customer for nine years. Never disappoints - it is my stalwart standby for bagel and Nova lox ("no frills"), breakfast sandwiches and that's about it. The ambience is tiles-and-cafteria tables, the service efficient (if not overly friendly unless you are a daily regular, apparently) and the bagels are good.
But why are they always out of bialys by the time I get there? They are really good. I get coffee from Starbucks before coming here. They have never kicked me out for bringing it in. -

Ahh, the heavenly morsels served here.
In my high school days I frequented the BC every day after school and always has a tuna salad on a freshly produced bagel that was simply to die for!
The salads alone are complete meals and the freshest you may ever come across, I'm serious.
No surprises in the back kitchen either, just so ya know...this place is ultra clean and is very up kept.
Grab a bagel sandwich and head for Taylor Park across the street ~ the perfect way to dine in Millburn.
PS- Taylor Park is where my parents met and fell in love...AWWWWWW! -

Madison, NJ
I love the bagels-tasty-very tasty-good size and worth the drive for breakfast from Madison. Plenty of outdoor seating on the sidewalk for sun and air and comfortable comraderie when you want it. A great park across the street or close by on the South Mountain Reservation to walk them off.

We love Bagel Chateau. My fave is the no frills. Cheap (for lox) and sooo yummy. My little brother comes down from Boston and his first stop will be Bagel Chateau for a sesame bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese!

New Providence, NJ
Good bagels & good breakfast sandwiches. A nice place for a very informal breakfast and it is always bustling on weekends. You can sit inside or outside on the sidewalk in downtown millburn. The outside seating is great if you are all dirty and hungry coming off a trail run in nearby South Mountain Reservation. The bagels are not the best in the area and I can't vouch for other breakfast sandwich spots for goods like (taylor ham, egg and cheese) but either way this is a cool spot.

New York, NY
Eh. Like that there's ample room for seating and it's not as cramped as the Maplewood location, but there's not too much else going for this place. A bagel with lox spread was $4.50- seemed high to me, but I honestly don't have much of a basis of comparison. However, I have had more than my share of lox cream cheese and this one was lacking - basically tasted like plain cream cheese with maybe a hint of lox that was way too subtle. The bagels were pretty flat and kinda sad looking (they actually sell "flagels" that are supposed to be flat, but the regular ones weren't much more substantial). Seems to take forever to get your order and I couldn't really figure out why - especially since everyone I was with got bagels and cream cheese - nothing to cook. Decaf coffee was pretty good. Overall, an ok place to stop in for a casual breakfast, but not the kind of bagels and cream cheese I'd expect at a place that has "bagel" in it's name.
