I was a frequent visitor when I lived in Alpharetta, and I miss it dearly now that I'm gone. They had me hooked on the basic everything bagel w/ cream cheese for the better part of a year. So much goodness. Their menu is pretty varied though if you want to be more adventurous. Wait-time on orders is minimal even when it's busy. Staff is friendly and the place is always clean. It's an easy spot to get in and out of if you want to make a quick trip, but they also have a lot of seating inside and it's a nice place to chill.

Ok... Bagels and pizza seem to be a passionate thing for some people. Lol Bagel Boys has a great selection of bagels and cream cheese spreads. Their bagels are perfect I feel. This location has a friendly staff and the owner is outgoing as well. I much prefer this environment over that of another competitor (BB Bagels) which I don't get the attraction to? Wiseass New York attitudes with decent bagels? Big deal... I'll take Bagel Boys Cafe over them... Lol. (oh... Since I myself am a wiseass former New Yorker... I can call them wiseasses too with no foul...) :)

They sucked me in with their french toast bagel. Although their bagels aren't extremely huge like other bagel places (cue: BBs), I'm okay with that. The bagel was absolutely delicious. It was a little crispy (the sugar topping, perhaps) with a punch of cinnamon. I ate the entire thing in 4 bites. Count it---1, 2, 3, 4. Yup, 4 bites.

I also tried their EVERYTHING bagel which also had bits of green stuff (seasoning?) in it. I thought it was splendid.

Their sandwiches are pretty standard. My boyfriend and I both agreed we could replicate the same sandwich at home. But the bagels....oh the bagels!! For me, I found it chewy and dense---a perfect bagel.

This morning I woke up craving a bagel (that's never happened before - not huge on bread (especially bagels)) so I yelped the best place I could go / close to home.

Well first I found that this area of GA has more variety in specialty bagel cafes than I've ever seen opposed to back home in Chicago (again... there's the possibility I never looked :-p).

Anywho - came to Bagel Boys Cafe and was shocked at how difficult it was to find a parking space in what, seemingly, looked like a "not so hot" spot. After a few laps around the lot and a morning walk to the door I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice looking cafe inside as the exterior is very easy to miss (guess it's just the area overall that's pretty "blah").

I could tell right away most every patron there held the "Regular" title and knew "what to do". Me and another guy, I assumed, was also a Newbie stood back and tried to figure out the way to order without looking any more stupid as the cashier looked at us like we were the dumbest people on earth. I stepped up to order first: asiago bagel w/ veggie spread and a cappuccino. Instead of the cashier being a decent woman and just saying "we don't have cappuccino" she decided to stare at me as if to say, "hey Princess, take your ass next-door to Starbucks"... This helped me, nor the situation, at all as we both just stared at one another for what felt like way too long.  I'm sure no one does, but I will be the first to say I really don't take well to being reprimanded for wanting to give you my hard earned money to support your small business.  Well after a very long 60+ seconds went by she pointed to one of the SIX menus hanging above her with an eye roll that displayed the beverages they do carry (Silly me for missing the smallest of the sixth menu displayed on a completely different wall than the other five.).  I realized my coffee options were an empty cup to fill on my own and moved on with life.

I was pleased to pay under $5 for my medium cup and bagel w/ veggie spread.

I was super pleased with how yummy the food was.

I thought the coffee was pretty tasty and fresh.

I thought the male manager and girl at the "pick up here" window were sweet.

I guess I loved everything about the place, but just want to push the lady cashier with the hat on... a little hard even.

As I'm writing this I just glanced over at her and believe she may have a permanent scowl... Boooo to her.

Anyway - I like this place outside of her and would like to try their lunch someday.

Despite the rude crab at the front counter getting off on making people feel like shit for not ordering correctly... I'll still give 4 stars just because that was one of the tastiest bagels I've ever had, the manager keeps smiling, the cafe is very clean and no one's rushing me to leave :-)

I love me some bagel. And especially finding little bagel places like this one! Slightly bleary-eyed from my 5 a.m. trip to Alpharetta, I was thankful to see that they open at 6:30 a.m., and with some serious competition from a Starbucks next door. Actually, maybe to their advantage, because every time I've been in a Starbucks and desperately hungry, their bagels just make me sad. Horrible.

The AJC review of Bagel Boys states exactly what I was thinking - it has a very 'national chain' feel to it, but it is indeed an independent spot to get your bagel on.

While the bagel breakfast sandwiches like the spinach, bacon and artichoke sounded incredible, since I was in Alpharetta to watch a marathon, this many calories at this hour just seemed wrong. Plus, I'm an asiago girl at heart, so I stuck with the usual. A seriously tasty bagel with just a forth of an inch-ish of cream cheese as requested, instead of the brick o'cream cheese that bagel places usually dole out.

Just saw on their website that their service motto is "Fast - Correct - Friendly." Other non-customer service businesses out there, please take note!

Located next door to a StarSux and barely noticeable from the street or even the parking lot, Bagel Boys Cafe is quite an awesome secret in Alpharetta and it's sad that it took me a whole year to actually try this place out.

Clean, corporate looking-but-not and with food that actually taste good - I tried hard to not come back and avoid spending the money, but I failed miserably on a weekly basis.

The coffee is some of the best I've had - and that's only because they usually have a cinnamon hazelnut blend that's as awesomely fake sounding but delicious tasting as it can be.

Couple the coffee with their bagel melt - and I'm done - all for under $5.00 - I probably lose 20 minutes on my way to work when I stop here, but knowing that if I don't I'll be sitting there at my desk, in a cold cubicle and a starving stomach - and I realize that I have no choice at all in the matter.

Add this to the very short list of reasons why I don't feel so bad about living in Decatur and working in Alpharetta.

This corner of the strip mall is insane in the morning. Starbucks and Bagel Boys right next to one another. Both were slammed on this Friday morning. The traffic is nutty, and attractive cubicle dwellers are scurrying every which way.

Deanna's review of this place is pretty good. It does feel like a franchise joint, but it isn't. They are locally owned and the folks are friendly. And even with a line, the orders moved through quickly. I had an onion bagel toasted with cream cheese. I thought the bagel was a bit on the small side and a little light. Usually eating an entire bagel is like having a bowling ball in the belly. Fills you up for more than a morning. This bagel wasn't that way. Can't describe it really, it just left me wanting more.

Their menu is diverse, and they offer some interesting lunch sandwiches that might be worth a try one day. But overall, I think I like the bagels at BB's on McFarland a LOT better than this place.

We get bagels from here every Friday at work.  While I prefer Einstein's, this place is always consistent and offers a large variety of bagels and cream cheese.  If you're looking for a cream cheese that is somewhat unique, try their Spinach & Artichoke flavor.

I typically get the Everything or Sesame bagel, but the majority of my co-workers get the Cheddar bagel (it's baked with plenty of shredded cheddar cheese).

Service is always spot-on, and they will assemble and slice your order for you if you call in advance.

I don't stop here super often but I do like to come by and relax with a bagel and coffee when I have time.  The bagels here are a bit smaller than BB's or Einsteins but I like the flavor of these.  I always get the spinach quiche.

This is a smaller restaurant that always seems to be pretty busy in the mornings.  They seem to be holding their own against Starbucks right next door.  I've never been here for lunch but based on the other reviews I think I need to come by and try some of the lunch fare.

My kids love to come sit on the couch and share a bagel and we all love seeing the artwork near the drinks.  They display work from a local artist and it changes seasonally.  As an artist I have to give them a bit extra for supporting local art!

    Give these folks a try.

We love this place for weekend breakfast. Typical choices for me is either a plain bagel with smoked salmon/lox or everything bagel with meat and cheese. I laughed when reading about parking complaints. There plenty of parking spaces in this plaza but god forbid if an alpharetta houswife can't park her gigantic SUV right infront of the store and has to walk a few yards and wrinkle her tennis oufit. Come on lazy GA people...It won't kill you to walk a little.

My only complant is that I think the prices went up recently. We paid $20 for two bagels with lox and 1 coffee.  Seems high for a casual bagel place and may have to cut back on this place based on price...tough times for all so we have to be careful with the budget.

Although I'm not sure I can add much to what the other reviewers have said, i want to review this place because this is one of the two bagel places I eat at regularly (the other being Einstein's).

Bagel Boys is certainly a clean, friendly place with good bagels.  In my experience, their bagles are lighter in both flavor and texture than most others.  I wish they could somehow accomplish the lighter texture while having a stronger flavor, but I suppose one can't have it all.

As others have noted, they have all of the polish of a chain establishment, but are actually local.    I will certainly continue getting bagels there.

Quality, fresh food.  I like supporting this place since it's consistent and tastes like food instead of preservatives.  Great sandwiches, great soups, great bagels, great everything.  Catering is always on time and accurate, and if you need lunch for a group delivered on short notice, they can usually help you out. A wonderful neighborhood place, soon to open a new location around Johns Creek.

Parking is indeed a mini disaster, but it's all part of the experience. Embrace it, keep calm, carry on, and enjoy your sandwich.

Let me start by saying that I am a transplant from the NYC area, so I am torn between a review of the bagels vs. a review of the restaurant.  If you want a true NYC bagel, you need to take a little trip to BB's on McFarland Rd.  So I will split my review here into two categories.  Bagels and overall restaurant/food.

I rate the bagels with 3 stars.  These bagels are among the best of the bagel imitators, and for many who do not know a real NYC bagel, are much better than what they've probably previously eaten, however they are not a true NYC bagel.  This is evident when you see how small and perfectly shaped they are as they must come from a mold.  But, don't let that fool you.  These are fresh bagels made from scratch on the premises.  Also, unlike most NYC bagel shops, Bagel Boys only smears cream cheese on the bagels instead of putting a healthy (or maybe not so healthy) heap of cream cheese on the bagel.  This practice has unfortunately come from that big 'ol Einstein's chain.  The Bagel Boys cream cheeses are also so thin that it would be nearly impossible to heap any more on the bagel.  However, their spreads are tasty.  If I can't get to BB's, I definitely go here.

If you put the bagels aside, I give the restaurant 5 stars.  They have some of the best breakfast sandwiches and muffins around.  Not the run-of-the-mill plain breakfast, but not over the top neuvo-cuisine either.  This is a local place, even though, as mentioned before, it has the feel of a chain.  The owners are very friendly and I hope they succeed as they've got the service and menu to carry them far if they do decide to franchise.  It is just a shame that the owners came from Einstein's school of bagel baking and not a true NYC bagel shop.

These bagels are good but they're missing something...chewiness, texture, density, yeast?  I don't know but they're not bad, definitely better than Einstein's but just not as good as BB's.  I agree with Stacy G, they are not as filling as you would expect a bagel to be, but on the other hand that probably makes them more figure friendly.

I was a little turned off by the self service bagel bins.  I've been totally appalled by the lack of hand-washing I've witnessed in restaurants, grocery stores, etc. around here; people seem to think if they put on gloves they don't have to wash their hands - WRONG!  It skeeves me to think that food service employees are not trained properly, so I'm totally untrusting of the general public.  Yeah sure, they provide tissue paper to pick the bagels up with, but I'm concerned with Joe Schmoe who didn't wash his hands after going to the bathroom and doesn't use a tissue square, or the clueless mom who lets her little germy kid pick out his bagel after he just picked his nose.  **BTW I didn't witness anything horrific like this at Bagel Boys, but you never know who was in there 5 minutes before you arrived.**

I think I'll make BB's my regular bagel stop, but I'll definitely go to Bagel Boys for lunch since their menu looks good...and the employees will be the only ones touching my food ;)

Bagels bagels bagels! oh yeah and lite veggie cream cheese! Aghhh their bagels are perfect in size and texture, not to insanely huge like other places. Although still partial to BB's bagels in terms of taste, this is def. a close second! I was also introduced to their amazing Chicken Salad Sandwich and it is fantastic! They use focaccia bread, and salad to bread ration was perfect! Very filling sandwich too, i was stuffed silly after forcing myself to finishing the whole thing.

I used to be all about this place, but as they get more business I guess they are going the way of most and becoming less and less customer service driven. The bagels are OK but they are victim to the usual "best of North Fulton" which is to say they are good because of location not because of quality. I am most upset by their location (No parking) and their customer service which has gone down hill. Now you are lucky to have 1 person ringing up people as the line is out the door. Parking is something that is unavoidable unless you move, but customer service is easy to fix and needs to be fixed before I will EVER go back.

Flavored bagels not bad and the bread-like quality makes them okay for sandwiches, but there are too many better options. Eh.
