University place bagel pushers sling carbs to NYU students and power moms. The bagels themselves are medium sized and chewy which is kind of nice among so many enormous mutant frankenfood bagels. The bagel texture is on point, the cream cheese is delicious, and the bagels are lovingly toasted to a perfect golden-brown, like sunrise from a yurt in Mongolia. Their coffee is also not bad.

Protip: no one here answers to Bob.

Went on a Monday during the 4-7pm 45¢ bagel times. At 3:45 there was already a line forming that extended outside (not saying too much since the place is so small), so I set my expectations pretty high for a great bagel at an very cheap price. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel, toasted with butter and I thought that was going to be 45¢, but somehow it ended up being about $1.20 ? There were no signs explaining what made some bagels 45¢ and I felt too rushed by the cashiers and line behind me to even ask, so I didn't question why.

As far as the bagel goes, it was small to medium sized which surprised me because I expected a decent sized bagel. There were hardly any raisins in it which was disappointing; but from the texture I could tell that the bagel definitely had potential! Perhaps it was just this day, but it just wasn't up to par. I guess I will continue going to Dunkin' Donuts until a find a better bagel for a  cheaper price.

This was a great bagel.  They are a bit on the small side.  They properly spread cream cheese so it isn't pouring out of the center hole.  Some unique flavors too.

While this place is small and can be quite hectic at times, the bagels are fresh, coffee decent, and service prompt. Given that its located across the street and offers 1/2 priced bagels on Monday from 4:00-7:00 easily makes me a fan.

Nostalgic bagel spot for me as a former NYU-er.  Came here on a Sunday morning to grab two everything bagels w/ scallion cream cheese and the place was packed; line was basically out the door.  Even on a crowded morning the line does move and the guys behind the counter are efficient.

Bagels are doughy, actually toasted if you say toasted, and the cream cheese has actual bits of scallion in it.

Be careful if you don't want fat-free cream cheese as they tried to upsell me fat-free twice.  And to echo others, catch the bagel Monday special with 45 cent bagels from 4 to 7pm to meet your student budget and/or feel like a student all over again.

Catch the 45 cent bagel special on Mondays between 4 and 7 p.m.  The bagels are good, although not spectacular, and you can get as many as you want.  Good for those of us on a budget.

It also has a small counter area with a view of University Place, which is surprising, considering how small it is.  Good if you have time to relax and enjoy your bagel and coffee.

Service is quick although not unfriendly.  Have been here many times and will happily return.

This Greenwich bagel spot was recommended to me by a co-worker who's been coming here exclusively for many years. The place is tiny but they still managed to fit in a counter with a few stools. The prices are sub $1 for bagels and if you go during select times on Monday they have a special for 45 cent bagels (still very fresh). The bagel was pretty average as far as bagels in New York go, the flavor was good but the texture wasn't the best I've had. There was no crackle that is indicative to the perfect exterior but still they make a darn good bagel worth getting if you're hankering for one and are in the area.

Decent bagel, but a little on the small side.  Their various flavored cream cheeses are also just a-okay, nothing special.  They do not sell a jalapeno cheese bagel which is a complete disappointment.

However, they are quick and efficient.  I would possibly come back here if I needed a quick breakfast.  Also, I will definitely be back here on Monday nights from 4pm-7pm when all of there bagels are 45 cents!

There are no places to eat your bagel here so don't expect to have a sit down meal.

How Bagel Bob's only has 12 reviews is beyond me. I've been coming here for about 20 years (i.e. most of my life) since it's located right around the corner from the apartment I grew up in.

Freshly baked bagels daily is one of the awesome features of Bagel Bob's. Bagel holes for you to snack on or for your doggie. I used to get them for mine. Their salads are yummy, I'm partial to their chopped liver.  No it's not gross, it's delicious!

Always bustling, and many times a line out the door. Fast and chaotic service is part of Bagle Bob's charm. Stop by for 45 cent bagels on Monday's from 4-7pm. Yum.

subpar bagels and coffee. absent-minded workers who will put sugar in your coffee or toast your bagel, even if you specifically request them not to. and the service is inefficient; when i go to a bagel place i expect to be in and out in much less time.

but it's the only bagel place for a few blocks, so i find myself here often.

Nice group of dudes behind the counter.  Due to proximity home, I come here at least 1x a week.  I always order a toasted Everything Bagel w/ scallion cream cheese - to be honest, I really don't know why I ask them to toast it b/c there is no evidence that they actually "toast" the bagel as opposed to just "heat it up."  My order is always $3.25... which I find a little expensive for a bagel w/ some cream cheese, but I feel like a cheapskate saying that out loud.

    Good coffee.

I think what we suffer from here is a failure to communicate...

... as evidenced by my untoasted everything bagel with cream cheese turning into a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese.  Similarly, the Korean lady in line ahead of me ended up with a sesame bagel with cream cheese when she ordered a sesame bagel with butter.

The very not-Korean guys behind the counter were at least nice enough to say "kamsahamnida" to her, though.  That deserves points, right?

A smidge over $2 for a bagel and a schmear (do New Yawkers use that word?) isn't highway robbery, and admittedly my bagel was large and had that perfect kind of crusty-on-the-outside, fluffy/chewy-in-the-inside consistency that one expects in a New York bagel.  I'm thinking this joint requires revisiting, early and often.

I can never quite fathom why there are always four or five employees behind the counter, lots of bagels in the baskets, and full cream cheese containers, but there's always a line. Do they not have enough toasters? If so, then maybe Bagel Bob's should consider investing in more, because they can't possibly not realize that they get enough business to warrant the upgrade.

Their prices, however, have been upgraded, as I was dismayed to find after not having come here for a year (for the prices on bagels to nearly double in two years is a bit much). The quality has remained the same, which is to say, the bagels are just mediocre. They still seem kind of small, and the cream cheese could stand to be a little more filled with what it's meant to include.

Bathroom Grade: N/A. There's barely enough room to sit, so there's definitely not enough room for a bathroom.

This place is pretty basic for what it is a bagel place, with other varieties of foods. I always come here when I'm in the area (one of those things were you HAVE to go because you know you won't be back in town for a while and you remember how good it is).

The bagels are good, the muffins and spreads are too, it's small, the staff is great. In my opinion they have the BEST tuna in the city...at least that' I've had. Leaving a star off because I notice the times I've gotten my beloved tuna salad I get a little upset stomach...will pay attention again to make sure this doesn't happen every time.

This is my FAVORITE bagel place in the city.

I used to live right around the corner from Bagel Bob's, and would frequently grab a bagel on the way to class or to cure a hangover after a long night.

They have the BEST veggie cream cheese, and their tofu veggie is delicious too! They also have tons of varieties of wheat bagels, including wheat everything, wheat sesame, etc.

Plus, on Mondays between 4pm and 7pm, you can get any bagels (without spreads) for only 35 cents. (It used to be 25 cents, but times are tough)

Plain bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. They know me here, so that's a pretty good indicator of how much I love them. The perfect NYC bagel, in my opinion. By the time I get to Washington Square, the cream cheese has melted to juuuuuuuust the right consistency, and it's all I can do to enjoy it slowly. For $1.95 (with my NYU discount), this place can't be beat. And it doesn't hurt that I always get to skip the line when I come in because they know exactly what I want. :-)

    with . . .
    STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE.

if God ate bagels, im seriously convinced THIS would HIS BAGEL.
It's humble but life changing! . . . (now im pushing it)

    BUT SERIOUSLY.
the strawberry cream cheese is amazing.
im not even a fan of cream cheese but this one makes me want to eat it by the spoon full.
it has REAL strawberry pieces in it so when youre eating the bagel, you get your daily dose of fruits! joke.

TOASTED is a must. they wrap it for you with a chunk of cream cheese already in the middle of the bagel... and the cream cheese just slightly melts and becomes one with the bread.
nom nom. BEST breakfast to take to class.
doesnt smell...doesnt make noise... its small...and delicious...keeps you awake... amazing!

TAKE YOUR STUDENT I.D. FOR A 10% DISCOUNT.
the line might be long... but it goes by fast.
    they're like speedy gonzalez!
    (oh & cash only... )
BAGEL + STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE + NYU ID CARD ends up being less than $3.

Grabbed a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and salmon and a coffee with cream.  First, the coffee was hot but didn't have much flavor.  Good for a cold day, but one of the worst cups I have had in NYC.  As for the bagel, it was fine but not great by any stretch of the imagination.  Perhaps there were too many competing flavors going on, but nothing about the bagel, salmon, or cream cheese really stood out to me.

I go to school around this Bagel shop. I was just looking for a quick snack, and boom! I decided to just grab a bagel with cream cheese.
I notice that it's a fresh made bagels here, which i rarely have, but it was overall delicious. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese (toasted). It ran me $2.17 with tax. I like the fact that every bite was savory; good taste and freshness is a bonus. It's a small shop with a window bar seating and 2-4 small tables. I am going to be there more often to try the different things there. Let me include that they are a friendly staff, they spoke Spanish to each other and did a little singing; better than a boring workers.

Chewy, perfect bagels, in a variety of flavors, with a rainbow of cream cheeses to accompany them -- and great bagel sandwiches made to order. Order in quantity for a better price, or come on Mondays after 4 pm for slightly stale, day-old bagels for, I believe, 45 cents each. I highly recommend the cinnamon-raisin cream cheese, which also has nuts. The few window seats are just right for that let's-meet-up-but-is-this-a-date-or-are-we-just-hu ngover-friends vibe, where you don't have to maintain much eye contact. Unless you want to. And people watching on University Place can provide fodder for conversation, suggestive or otherwise.

Bagel Bob's have been the best bagel I've had so far in Manhattan. The salt bagel's actually have salt on them opposed to just some sprinkles I've seen on others. The bagels are good size and good taste.  I also love their black and white cookie! Whatever you ask to be on there you usually get a good amount whether it be tomato or salmon you'll get plenty of it enough to make another sandwich!

I found this place 2 weeks ago, and I've been going here for breakfast almost every other day. There is a great selection of bagels and cream cheeses, everything is very fresh, and the prices are good. They toast the bagels to perfection, and put just the right amount of cream cheese. They also have really good crumb cake (regular and chocolate), but it's very rich, so I'd share it with a friend. Their black and white cookie is really soft and delicious, and great coffee too.
