So, let me just start by saying, I took my first trip to Long Island last weekend and I was told that I must have some bagels. People in NY are VERY proud of their bagels, and there's a bagel shop in just about every shopping plaza on Long Island, not to mention the obligatory pizza shop, and deli...
So, I went to Bagel Biz on Saturday, and another bagel place on Sunday, but I forget the name of it. I was very impressed by the wide variety of bagels. They had several kinds of Everything bagels, from whole wheat, to egg, to the standard "everything." Although I try to avoid cream-cheese on a regular basis, I HAD to try some while I was there because the chalk-board menu list of choices seemed to go on forever!
I opted for a multi-grain bagel with Garlic and onion cream-cheese. They put A LOT of it on there, and of course in most bagel shops they put it together and cut it in half so it's like a giant cream-cheese sandwich. DELICIOUS!
I do think it's possible to get a good bagel in the Boston area, however the fact that the New Yorkers have such pride in their bagels, really makes it feel like you're getting something special.
I forgot to ask for my bagel to be toasted, and my girlfriend told me it would probably be really warm because they're all very freshly baked... It wasn't warm, but i didn't really mind. Next time i'll ask for it to be toasted or heated.
So i'm giving this 3.5 stars because I really did think this bagel was amazing, however I don't really have a whole lot of basis for comparison. I have had bagels in NYC and i'll admit, they were bigger, softer, warmer and better.

I hate NY b/c I have to eat a bagel and a slice of pizza every day.
Not the best bagel in NY, though my bialy was solid.
Note: This would hands-down be the best bagel in San Francisco or Capetown.
My parents love 'em. I think they're ok. Definitely no Bagel Boss.
