I'm hesitant to say this is as good of a bagel as you could find, because it isn't.

However, it is the best bagel shop that we've found in the East Bay.  Bagels are really good, service is quick and pleasant and they have a good variety. Best of all, expect plenty of toppings on BOTH sides of your bagel. Yes, bagels do have two sides!

I  have been to the Bagel Bakery a few times and each time been disapointed.
The taste of the plain bagel is not to bad, however the other type bagels seem to lack taste, the rye was especially bland.
All the bagels that i purched had one thing in common - they all seemed somewhat under baked, soft and not at all crisp on the outside. not authentic in any way.

While the bagels and the cream cheese are fine, it is the customer service that earned Bagel Bakery 2 stars. Today when I was in there, the cashier tried to charge me $2.50 to add a shot of espresso to my drink. When I politely pointed out that their posted menu said that "add espresso" cost only $1.00, she began arguing with me about the price. When I said I would like to cancel the drink (since I could not fathom paying $6.50 for a frozen coffee drink), she glared at me for a few seconds before agreeing to give me the extra shot of espresso for the posted price of $1.00.

I will be back for the bagels, but I will definitely pass on coffee drinks from here on out.

This is my go to place for bagels, my favorite breakfast food. I love their ham and cheese eggwich on a sundried tomato bagel. They always have plenty of bagels left no matter the time of day and even when its busy, they are so quick. I've had their coffee a couple times and its always so good. Think I'll go in for breakfast tomorrow morning!

Such a slice of heaven. I always get the turkey club on the garlic parm. bagel roll. The staff is always super nice. The prices are reasonable and they have bagel deals for morning meetings...it includes cream cheese. Which they have a TON of flavors to choose from. This place is awesome, I just wish they were closer and stayed open for dinner...I happen to like sandwiches for dinner too.

Okay so i have been here a number of times for lunch. I've waited to review until now, i wanted to give this place a chance. After reading ALL the reviews, i can tell you these 2 things:

    1. Yes, the bagels are good, really good, but also, they are really small compared to other places. I really only go here because it's closer to my work than Bagel Street Cafe is.
    2. OH MY YES, are the staff RUDE. Well, just the two ladies that work up front and take your order and ring you up. At first i wondered if it was me they didn't like, or just that day they were grumpy. But to my amazement, they're ALWAYS like that, to everyone. No "thank you", no eye contact, they almost get disgusted when you ask for extra of something.

All in all, no matter how good their bagels are, there service is the dumps. Thats why they get 2 stars. Attitude is optional, be pleasant!

This is my favorite bagel/sandwich place, mostly because they make good sandwiches but also because they are close by.  Guess I won't be able to eat here as often anymore since I'm moving out of town soon :(

I like to get breakfast sandwiches....cheese, egg and bacon on a bagel of my choice....YUM.

Their regular sandwiches, which can be made on a bagel or on a roll, are just as good.  They have a pretty good selection, with different lunch meats, with or without cheese and avocado.

Also have a full coffee/expresso selection, and seem to always have fresh fruit cups as well as smoothies and shakes.

I think their service is kinda hit or miss.  Its a family-run operation, and I think some of the younger family members are not too happy to be working there...I can relate, having worked for my parents for years.  Resentment aside, I would say the service is mostly indifferent...not necessarily rude but not exactly friendly either.  Ehhh....better service would be awesome, but its not like its a full service restaurant.

I've only been for lunch, but Bagel Bakery just may be my favorite Dublin sandwich spot.  Tasty bagels, nice variety.  Very reasonably priced lunch combo that includes a sandwich on a bagel, your choice of chips or a cookie and a drink for $6.95.

I'm partial to the turkey cranberry on a cheese bagel, with cream cheese instead of mayo.  Everything on it baby.  *licks lips*

    4.5 stars.  Occasionally there's a slow-moving line.

It's like old times today. Out in the east bay, seeing the fam, lunch at the Bagel Bakery. The latter has always been a favorite. A vast selection of bagels, rolls, cream cheeses and deli cuts let you pretty much have any variety of sandwich you want. Mom and I split a delectable turkey cranberry on a wheat roll. Size was large, price was small.

My only complaint, and this is what living in San Francisco will do to you, is they are very environmentally unfriendly. Styrofoam cups for water. Salad in a takeout plastic container even though we were dining in. Terrible.

Five stars for the food/price, one for feeling you are killing the planet while having lunch.

Lots of variety in both cream cheeses and bagels. I'm too curious not to try the pineapple cream cheese one day, but on which bagel. Lessee, if I do the math, X bagels and N shmears... that comes out to... a hell of a lot of bagel and shmear combos!

They also serve sandwiches and coffee. Prices are reasonable. I shall return for more bagels at this non-chain bagel shop.

I'm surprised these aren't five stars all the way.  I do go there and grab breakfast to go, so maybe it's because I never eat in.

Their bagels are really good.  There are several bagel shops between my house and office, but I go out of my way just to go this bagel shop.  Their bagels just have that little crisp on the outside and are super soft on the inside.  I'm a big sourdough bagel fan so this is perfect for me.  I like their prices and they have a good juice selection.

This place is nothing fancy, but the bagels are really good.  I truly drive out of my way to grab my morning bagel from them.

Love this local bagel bakery place! They make fresh bagel, with so many different spread and bagel sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches. Really good bagel sandwiches - Recommend the turkey cranberry with low fat cream cheese. (No, the cream cheese is a must!) They have plenty of variety in sandwiches or bagel flavors. Beside bagels, they also have scones, muffins, coffee, fridge beverages, alot of other goodies too.

I've been coming to the Bagel Bakery for six months. They have the best bagels, and, I think, the best sandwich in Dublin. The Bagel Bakery Special is a turkey and avocado and you pick your fresh roll, which is really the treat since its crusty, toasted bread (onion, asiago, dutch crunch). Get it without mustard. It rocks.

Service is flaky. They have a couple of folks who can cope fine with any order and another person who, often, annoyingly, working when I come in ,that you have to watch to make sure that she doesn't ignore your order completely and/or fail to cut your bagel or sandwich.

Still, this place is far superior to Noah's: real bagels, great sandwiches (get the lunch special--its cheaper than a sandwich and a drink). I'm a customer and I'll remain one.

I really wanted to give this place a three and a half stars but I didn't want to downgrade on the actual quality of the food. Real talk, this place is great. It's been in the area for years and years and they serve fresh, made to order bagel sandwiches, among other things. Coffee is also good and fresh. They have many selections of on-the-go breakfast items to choose from.

The outdated decor of the place is the reason why I wanted to give them three stars. I just wish they would do a little more to the place to make it more modern looking and brighten it up a bit. Other than that, I really don't have any complaints.

This wins Best Bagels Award out of all the bagel places I've been to.

This place is really local, very small, and really delicious!
The family-owned feel just oozes out of the old beaten down entrance door, and somehow, into the bagels too.

the bagels are really fresh, really soft, chewy, and just absolutely delicious.

I always get the jalapeño bagel with any of their spreads, toasted.

I LOVE this jalapeño bagel! it's really soft and chewy... and the bread is actually spicy! Usually, it's only the jalapeño on top that's kind of spicy but this, oh man, i swear is just perfect. I choose this one over the Jalapeño Cheddar bagel also because I don't really care for the cheese taste..

Their cream cheeses are really good too!
The Lox schmear is smokey and fresh tasting, the veggie spread has a LOT of flavor. The garlic, the jalapeno, the roasted tomato, whatever else they have, ALSO are really good.

Sometimes I end up getting a plain or sweet ish bagel (strawberry, cinnamon, etc) and get a strawberry cream cheese. oh man that's good too!

It is a small local business so their service may not be consistent or as tentative but the bagel definitely worth the bit!

Bagel Bakery brings back memories of my high school days when we'd all rush to our cars to go off campus for lunch. Oh the good old days.
They still make delicious sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Their bagels are tasty too but sometimes they over toast my bagel. The people working there are nice and quick with orders.

They even serve them with sprouts on them (when they can get them).
They toast the bread just right and make it with lots of veggies and just how you like it.

The service is pretty good too, they are fast and nice.

I have been coming here for years :)

I had to come try it out because of the reviews.  I got the dozen bagels with two cream cheeses.  I'm not a sweet bagel person, but the first one I pulled was Banana Nut, which I thought was jalapeno.  I was surprised when I bit into a perfectly crunchy walnut.  The flavor was not strong, but the texture was soooo good.  The bottom of the bagel is nice and crispy without being hard, the inside is soft and chewy.  After half of the banana nut I switched to the everything bagel which I will pass on in the future because one of the toppings on it is fennel.  I like fennel, but I don't like biting into a whole fennel seed.  Just a personal preference on my part.  I did have the tomato garlic cream cheese on the everything bagel.  This was almost enough to make me finish it, even with the fennel seeds.  I LOVE that cream cheese!

Prices aren't bad.  $14 gets you a dozen bagels (not including the cheese ones, which looked so good, but I'll try them on a later trip) and two containers of cream cheese.

The Bagels are just  OK.  I used to go there a few times a   because it was on my way to work.  I have recently vowed to never go back because the staff is so rude.  I go into this shop with a smile on my face and say hi.   You can't even get these people to respond with anything other than a grunt.   After several years of being treated like they do not need my business I decided to just give up.    Now I go through the drive thru coffee place called Dr. Beans down the street.  They are always happy in there.

I completely disagree with anyone who says there customer service is lacking. I've found that usually the ones who complain about that, are usually lacking in kindness themselves. Just my two cents. Okay, so I've got to start by saying no bagel made outside of NYC ever tastes like a REAL bagel.  That said, these bagels taste pretty good for non-NY bagels.

The problem is the staff.  I have been here many, many times (you'll be asking why soon) and the odds for getting what I actually ordered are not good.  There is one guy I can rely on to make exactly what I ordered (which is usually just a toasted bagel with butter), but he is the ONLY one.  Sometimes if he is not there, I simply walk out.

So... I would rate these as tastier than Noah's, but completely unreliable when it comes to getting what you wanted.  Speak clearly and hope for the best.

Yes, I have to agree a great place to pick up an real bagel and cream cheese. This is as opposed to the bagels at Safeway. I might suppose the East coasters might still think we out west here still don't have REAL bagels, but hey I like these plenty! I can't find anything this good in Reno so I'm a happy camper! Too bad I just down here for a night on business, then back up over the hill to Reno. Service was fine...so no complaints here.

    communication is poor!

I'm all for family run businesses, but when your lack of business sense interferes with your patrons ability to enjoy themselves.....you better watch it!

How can you be out of bagels at 1pm in the afternoon?

I am also NOT  a fan of the help ARGUING WITH ME, when the Bagel Bakery is obviously wrong. They Refused to use a coupon they passed out (that was still valid). I won't be patronizing them Ever again!!!

Very friendly folks.  Excellent, fresh bagels-good selection of bagel "flavors".  I especially like their cream cheese with fresh scallions.  Add some fresh tomatoes, smoked salmon, and thinly-sliced red onion and you're in business.  Sandwich-wise, I've only had the Tuna Melt but it is very good:  I ordered it with the Asiago/Onion roll and added avocado...yummy.  I saw another table that ordered a pizza bagel and it looked tasty as well.  In summation:  quick, friendly, inexpensive, excellent bagels, good sandwiches.

O.k. I've never written a review before until now, I signed up on yelp just to write this one review. If u want a good meal let alone a correct meal do not ever enter these doors. I'm absolutely serious, moved to the area recently and was forced to go here because of no other bagel place close; thinking to myself hey, I'll help out the mom and pop shop instead of the big name places. BUT NEVER AGAIN! ordered here on six different occasions and every single time the young girl who works the front counter screwed up my order. On my final sixth time, while I watched her screw up my bagel, I told her excuse me, I said butter and not cream cheese on my bagel please. She then gave attitude to which you would never believe. Mind u this being the sixth time she's screwed up my order. PLZ! for the luv of god if the owner reads this, U NEED TO GET RID OF THIS GIRL!! I don't care if she's ur daughter, she is single handily running ur business into the ground! I am seriously sorry to say I will never go here again, and it's sad really considering u guys r so close to my house.

I can't stand it anymore, it is terrible, and I'll never go there again!!!  I've tried this place many times, b/c it is the only Bagel place this side of Dublin.   I order the same thing every time and it is almost always made wrong and I'm charged a different price every time.  I've returned to complain and they tell me I need to pay more and I never ordered that.  I order the same thing every time, THEY SUCK AT SERVICE!!!! Maybe they're getting my order wrong because they turnaround before I'm done with my sentence and start making whatever they want.  The pricing in there is all over the place, once b/c I ask for sliced tomatoes they charged me for a $6.99 sandwich.  Their bagels are smaller than most bakeries, the selection is weak and the prices are higher than the competition.  Save yourself a headache and head down 580 to Bagel Street Café, it's a few miles away but you be much happier with your meal.
