This type of boutique exists in New York but not in Chicago... until now that is!

Borrow A Dress Couture aka BADC is Chicago's only designer dress rental boutique! They carry all styles of cocktail dresses and evening gowns in sizes 0-18 and maternity.  Some of their designers include, Alexander McQueen, Abaete, Badgely Mischka, Christian Lacroix, Herve Leger, and Marchesa...just to name a few

Their current lease prices start at $35-$400 (depending on the designer), and the lease term is for 3 days and they even take care of the cleaning for you!

It's about time I found a designer rental boutique like this for Chicago clients who want to be able to wear designer gowns for less! Because really, How many time can you actually wear that $1000 dress? Once? Maybe stretch it to twice?

I have been invited to a black tie wedding at the Trump later this summer. I have looked at hundreds of dresses and was at my wit's end. I decided to try BADC.

Bree, the owner, is one of the nicest, most patient, helpful, funny, and personable boutique owners I have met. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to and helped me so much!

So, I am on the larger side (a size 12) and, to be honest, I was a tiny bit disappointed with their current selection of dresses in my size. I tried on 2 dresses. One was lovely, vintage looking, but bigger than my size. The other was way too modest for me. I really liked some of the other dresses in the shop, but they were long or too small and would have needed alterations, and that would have defeated the purpose of renting.

So, as I would like to give this store less stars for selection, I just can't because of how much I adored the owner, Bree. They do have quite a few dresses, but I just didn't find anything for my event.

I am definitely willing to give the shop another try for a special occasion. They are always getting in new stuff! Go check them out!

This is the coolest concept ever, and the girls at BADC have executed with perfection!

I was invited to a real black-tie Gala (not the kind of event I usually attend) and needed to wear a ball gown or really fancy cocktail dress... on a tight budget. I literally stumbled upon BADC while googling around. I'm so glad I did!

    Bree and Teonna are genius!

The store is centrally located at Belmont and Sheffield and looks like a regular boutique (where I can never afford to shop). And the girls have racks and racks of designer dresses you can RENT for three days.

To top it all off, they got REAL sizes. I'm a 12 and I tried on literally 10 dresses all in my size. That NEVER happens at boutiques.

I narrowed now my options to an amazing long blue ball gown, a stunning white Marchesa (that I'll probably go back and rent for a fancy dinner) and the PERFECT red cocktail dress by a new designer out of NYC. Any of these dresses would have been perfect for the event.

I went with the red and it fit like a glove. I am THRILLED! I have the perfect dress for the event and even picked up a purse as well!!

Bree tells me they will be getting new inventory every three weeks or so, so you can bet I'll be back for the next event or girls night out. I'm just so happy I can walk in and try on fantastic dresses and not have to worry about paying mega $$$ for them! How often will I wear a ball gown?

You have to check it out!

I love the concept! The staff is so super sweet! Very inexpensive and they have sizes up to 20 . I unfortunately am a bit bigger up top and could not find anything to fit me just right but thats how it is with designer couture dresses. I would definitely go back if I have another affair to attend.

This place is my new favorite place in the city!  I have a lot of black tie charity events that I work at as a volunteer, but I don't own a closet full of dresses to wear to them.  I'm currently looking for a job, so making a good impression on others at events like this is a big deal.  I stopped in at BADC on a whim before an event and was so excited that not only could I wear Bagley Mishka, I could afford it!  (Keep in mind I am looking for a job.)  I wore my beautiful dress to the event, and was stopped by guests to ask me where I got my dress all night.  I also love that its a three day rental so there was no rushing around the day of the event or early the next morning, and I didn't even have to worry about cleaning!  I will go here again and again in the future because they always have new things coming in, and the owner is such a sweetheart and lets me browse even if I'm not really looking.  I like looking good, being trendy and saving money and I can do all of those things shopping here!
