Love this place hands down! My new favorite coffee shop =)
The quality and the taste of the coffee is great and the customer service also gets a high five here. they are always so nice and offering me taste testers because im always overwhelmed by the coffee choices there lol =) But i have to say so far the hula coffee is my favorite. How can a cup of coffee be so tastey?? Well ask BAD ASS COFFEE because apparently they know! -

i still frequent this spot at least twice a week when i am in the area. the quality of their products and service continue to be top notch! every time i come in here, i feel so welcomed. and their staff...seriously, they have the friendliest staff here! even when they hire new employees, they are all so nice and helpful. they definitely do have a good eye for great customer service.
they still have an extensive list of drinks and they've recently added more tea flavors too! we need more of these kinds of shops in every neighborhood.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Rancho Cucamonga, CA
A few years ago, our neighbors led us to "their coffee shop." Quiet, tucked away in the middle of a residential neighborhood within an Albertson's shopping center. I have always been a fan of "The Bucks," so my expectations were low. How could they possibly be better than the very establishment that started the coffee boom from Seattle so many years ago?!?!
I don't mind admitting I am wrong. I was REALLY wrong. 100% Kona coffee. Flavors like Vanilla MacNut, Coconut Rum, and Kreme Brulee...it is truly difficult to not come here every weekend. Plus...shaved ice any time of the year! Yeah...completely wrong.
Let's just say it is OUR coffee shop now. I mean, we still see our neighbors there...but we don't like to talk about who found it first. -
Review from Van D.
I am so surprised I did not find this place sooner :D
One morning, my cousins and I were having a "girl's day" with my niece so apparently one of my cousins 'yelped' this place. We were all amused by the name of the business "Bad Ass" LOL!!
When we got here, we were immediately greeted and offered some coffee samples. Everyone was really friendly. Even the other customers who came here were friendly and offering us first-timers some advice on what to get. We were all being extremely indecisive, but the workers remained sweet and helpful.
As a coffee lover, I think I wanted every item on the menu as I scrolled down. My cousins and I kept changing our minds. We ended up getting 3 "Hell's Revenge." They were nice enough to make one of them reduced sugar for one of my cousins.
When we got our drinks, we tried it with little expectations. We were extremely pleased as the flavors burst in our mouths. Even my niece said it was delicious when her mommy let her try some.
In addition to the great service and the amazing amazing amazing coffee. Bad Add coffee also has some pretty cute merchandise in their store:
- sweaters
- shorts
- magnets
- tshirts/tanktops
- hats
- mugs
- donkey plushees
- and much much more...
I honestly think I am coming back for for some shorts and a tanktop for the summer and rock out this BAD ASS gear ;) -

This is a very good coffee shop. Great ambiance, it's like a Hawaiian vacation. Coffee was well made, I had an iced double decaf non-fat latte' and they took their time with it and did it right. I can't speak to consistency since I've only visited once. But the atmosphere is definitely worth going back. There's tables inside and outside. This is not a typical SoCal coffee shop. This place has class, and quality. Five Stars.

Great nieghborhood coffee shop run by a very nice family. All the people that work there are very good. I like the Kona coffee, the Bad Ass Mocha and the Iced Tea. The tea is unique in that they brew each cup individually. Its very good. So long Starbucks.

I have lived right across the street from this place and never approached it until now. I absolutely love Starbucks coffee (barely drink it though because of the price and calories!), but when I walked into this place, I'm saying so long Starbucks! This is my new caffeinated friend!
The name is absolutely hilarious and when I walked in, the decorations are a little gaudy, but for some reason it works. The people inside were calm and were relaxing from the afternoon sun. The barristas were nice and friendly, but nothing special about them (two guys--they seem more bored than anything but it didn't bother me). They were patient and helped me out with what coffee to choose and I got the caramel wave (caramel, english toffee, and vanilla). My oh my! It was delicious!
By the time I got to the bottom of the cup, I noticed that the ice was really dark. When I put one into my mouth and let it melt, I realized that there was coffee inside the ice! BRILLIANT!! It didn't water down my drink and it was an extra boost of energy! Needless to say, I was wired.
I will definitely be back to try other drinks--including their smoothies. -

I've been going here for months now and figure I should finally write a review :) I live really close, so I started going here out of convenience when working in the home office and as I do with any new coffee joint, I grade them based on my usual, nonfat vanila latte - get that at every new place I try so I can compare...I can't explain why, theirs is just better than any small coffee shop or chain that I have been to - Cofee Bean used to be my favorite for that drink, now it's this place and I live all of a block away so it's that much better. I finally tried one of their cinamon rolls today - I ate half of it and I don't think I need to eat again until dinner time, it's good and rich.

Review from Pete J.
Really colorful shop, real Kona flavor, nicely decorated. Fast, free WiFi. Umqua oatmeal, good cookies. The espresso was mellow, no crema, no demitasse cups available. Seems popular in neighborhood. The owner, Dave, brought me a second cup after I wrote the initial review, explaining the difficulty getting perfect espresso with marked temperature and humidity swings. He also stated he would look into demitasse cups. So, He went from 3 to 4 stars.

This is a great coffee place! I own a business down the way and it's a great alternative to Starbucks. I still love my Starbucks, but the unique taste of the island coffee is a great way to mix it up. What I really like about the place is how they are so in tuned to their community. i walked in one day and found a news paper article clipping posted on their community wall. I asked dave, the owner, who put it up and he said he did. I never mentioned it to him and the fact he was aware and gave us recognition was great.

First- great name.
Second- great story behind the name.
Bad ass coffee dedicates it's franchise to the donkeys that carried the "kona gold" up and down the jungly, rocky mountains of kona, HI.
Third- awesome owners
Cheryl and Dave, the husband and wife owners greeted me when I came skipping in. They had a sample of cafe coconut rum ready before I even made it to the counter. Love it.
And while waiting for my buds (the Taste ones) to tell me what they were desiring, Cheryl served me up a sample of their blended base.
Yum-o.
I ordered the Hawaiian blend French roast.
De-lush.
Med roast, full bodied, and tasty fruity finish.
A franchise with a Ma and pop feel.
Yes.
Tv was on, not my favorite.
They have live music on Fridays and Saturday's- big plus.
Check it out.
Lots of iced teas, chai options, food, and a good home town feel.
Another great alternative to the StarMucks. -

Nice cozy little coffee shop with friendly staff and tasty goodies and drinks. My only gripe is that they close too early on Sunday's.

I happened across here by accident. I was driving from Los Angeles and I had been looking for a place to stop to get something to drink. After getting off the freeway several times and not having any luck finding a place that got my attention, I was at the point where I'd be content with just getting a water bottle from a grocery store. As I pulled into the parking lot (I think it was an Albertsons in the plaza? I don't remember), I happened to see the sign for this coffee shop, and thought that I should at least try this out, if not just for the name.
Turns out I made a good choice! I just got a tea (gunpowder, to be exact) and I was set. Loved it. The girl behind the counter was friendly and very helpful, and I liked the ambiance of the place. Nothing better than finding a coffee shop by accident, I'm glad I got off here! Will certainly be back to try their coffee in the near future. -

Free WiFi. Courteous staff. Good coffee with free refills.
I've only been here once but had the Cherry Lemonade and Kona Blend Coffee. Both were pretty good. The folks behind the counter were real helpful especially when the Wifi went down. I found my coffee spot in the IE! -

Three words: coffee ice cubes.
They put them in their iced lattes, and they are delicious and make my heart melt! When the ice in my latte melts down, because I'm slacking on some sipping action, the coffee ice cubes prevent my drink from being watered down.

So what happens when you are driving down the freeway and you want to stop for coffee? You gamble that your coffee is not going to taste like my balls smell after I have been to the gym but got caught up afterwards doing home chores and wound up lounging around the house instead of showering.
Sorry for the discolorful description but I've had real KONA coffee all my life and to drink instead the brown tapwater (appropriately colored) of rancho cockamundo instead left a real bad taste...all over my body. Do you know that flavor of coffee that was brewed 5 hours ago and has just been sitting around? Imagine that first thing in the morning! But unlike a church event where piss poor coffee can be expected, this place has no excuse. To make it worse, there was no hint of flavor, let alone kona flavor. Again, this wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a coffee shop and especially didn't sell it as "kona".
Their latte and bagel wasn t bad but a true coffee nut will be as bothered by their disrespect to the kona name as I am. For that you get one fkn star extra. That and the free wireless. Please, I dont know how long you've been open, but if by some miracle I wind up returning, and you guys have even more pathetically cheesy decore around your shop...for the love of god i wont just give you a one star review but i'll report you to the heath department (i'm sure there's a code for that bad of a poor taste) -

Bad ass name for a bad ass place. Don't let me begin on why I love this place. The ambience, the drinks, and the workers. Don't let me get started the workers!!! The workers are how I like my coffee: Hot, Dark, & Tall (there's really no africans working but you get the point). I like the mommy and poppy feeling of this coffee shop.
I like to come here regularly to visit this friendly place. They have free weefee. Really fast weefee internet. They also have DirectTV and there's this same posse that hangs out at the patio. One of them are friendly and constantly buys me their homemade seegars that is sold at Bad Ass Coffee. The bathroom was sooo clean, I was able to wash my feet in their sink.
Best coffee shop for a home stay feeling. -

This is about a mile from our house and we have never been here. We dont visit that shopping center.
We found it on yelp and got the discount. The people there are very cool and they are happy to help you. The way it should be.
Its a really cool place also.
I ordered a signature latte, it had a weird name that i cant spell or say but it had white chocolate with pecan flavor and it was sweet and it was just the way i like it.
My wife got a vanilla carmal latte and she doesnt like it sweet so she got half the shot and it was perfect for her.
Cant wait to go back. -
Review from Jenny A.
I love the coffee here, it's tasty and fresh. Moreover, you have an option to pick between a dark or light roast. I prefer it over other popular chains that seem to dominate the IE. I wish more privately owned coffee shops would open in Rancho.
Anyways, this place offers a wide variety of hot and cold drinks. I mean, a wide variety! So many that at times I stand in front of the cashier gawking stupidly at the menu for about 3 min. I probably annoy them, but they don't show it. =D Customer service is excellent, and the owners are adorable.
The decor is a bit overwhelming, giving that feeling of crampness but its ok. That's one distinctive element that separates them from other coffee shops. They have their standard seats to sit while u sip ur coffee, and if you have time, you can crash on the couch and watch whatever is on TV.
This place seems to have their local customers, I often find people leisurely chatting amongst each-other inside or out the coffee shop while I hurriedly scramble in looking for a quick fix.
Its awesome, try it.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Loma Linda, CA
Very disappointed. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but I'll sum it up and let you decide:
1. Double espresso: burnt, flat, and bad. Not even a hint of crema. Reminded me of college and what used to come out of my Mr. Coffee 'espresso' machine at 2am.
2. Breve: espresso as above, dumped unceremoniously into a cup of cold half-and-half. I guess you have to ask them to steam the milk.
The space was clean, though, they had a large selection of snacks and blended coffee drinks. And there was a big tv with a basketball game on, for what it's worth.
But 1 star for the coffee. Sorry. -

Chino, CA
Greatest little coffee shop you can run into. I'm here almost every Tuesday trying to wake up for college. Thank goodness this is right down the street.
They have authentic loose leaf tea along with their Hawaiian coffee.
You won't be getting any burnt Starbucks taste here and the service won't leave you feeling like another face in a sea of the unknown. The owners are absolutely fantastic, friendly, and deliver a spot on sense of welcoming service. Their employees also are lively and have personalities; it's like they actually enjoy their time working. They partnered with a local bakery called Old Town Bakery so the pastries are fresh and tasty. Also, free Wi-Fi.
Plus, it's called Bad Ass Coffee; how can you not love that? -

I've recently discovered this hidden gem! And I'm hooked they have the best iced latte around.
The thing that stands out about this place is the flavored ice cubes in the iced coffee instead of your regular ice it's actually cubes of flavor that add to the coffee !!!
It's genius and addicting I am hooked
Beats the regular starbucks -

The name alone had me eager to try the place. Then after reading some reviews i knew it was a must.
My yelping partner in crime sister) and I were craving some coffee so I thought it was a perfect opportunity for some bad ass coffee =]
We got there ten minutes before they closed, but the staff was still very happy to tend to us. We asked if they had cleaned already so we could come back earlier another day, because as a former restaurant cashier i know how annoying those last minute customers can be when your trying to go home, but the nice cashier didn't seem to mind taking our order and explaining the different drink options.
I got the iced Carmel wave latte and my sister got the... Irish something i forgot. Our drinks were made quickly and oh my gosh were they good!
The richness of the coffee was amazing! And since i got an iced drink i got the cool ice cubes, which keep the drink from getting watered down. My sister got hers in a slushy form, and well she loved it.
The prices are really good too, i paid about the same as if i were getting coffee from Starbucks, but received more coffee, more flavor, and more options to choose from!
I will definitely stop by Bad Ass again earlier of course, so i can have a chance to look around shop a bit more, it had some very interesting things. (Like a cute donkey statue chillen on the side!)
I highly recommend Bad Ass to anyone who loves coffee! -

I stumbled on this place, while getting some boo's at Albertsons for a bud's party. I can't believe the word ASS faces that church they have across the street. LOL, sucks for the priest to wake up every morning to see ASS at his door step! Anyhow, I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I thought they had some pretty strong stuff. Kept me wired all nite at the party. Prices are pretty reasonable too - cheaper than starbucks! Now if they had some strong juice there, I'd be in heaven...

A great place! I love their t-shirts. The couple behind the counter were very friendIy and appreciative. I had a Bad Ass Mocha, and my husband had 100% Kona coffee. He was so happy. It made me happy he was so happy. No other place we've found (other than in Hawaii) has had pure Kona coffee. My mocha was good, too. It wasn't overly sweet like Bucks and the Bean make it. We'll be back..
And one more thing, I'm not sure what is so confusing about the decor like the other reviewer said...it's Hawaii. Hawaii stuff. Not confusing. It made me want to buy a t-shirt.
and the whole playground for the kids was really a nice touch...oh, wait...they didn't have anything like that. And that's why they get five stars. -

A friend recommended this place to me, after I told her how "sick & tired" of Starbucks.. Anyhow, I tried it for the first time yesterday. I had the Carmel Wave hot and it was AMAZING. Along with a FRESH buttered croissant.. I paid LESS for BOTH than I do for ONE cup at Starbucks. Today I had the Carmel Wave blended, uhm, YUM along with a warm FRESH and YUMMY Blueberry muffin that was TO DIE FOR... Also, the customer service there is UNDENIABLY the BEST I have EVER received.. They GREET you upon entrance, take your order even from a distance and will bring it out to you!! Are you kidding ME!!! I will NEVER have coffee anywhere else... For sure THIS place is BAD ASS!

The coffees have a slight taste difference than traditional coffee, but I'm not complaining. Their Hawaii style coffee is awesome, and you can get any flavor in any style. My personal favorite is the Carmel Wave. The coffees, smoothies, wifi, ambience, TV, and service is awesome. The only reason I would choose Starbucks over this is because Bad Ass doesn't have as many locations. But when I find one, I'll always go.

What a breath of fresh air the menu and selection of coffee drinks are delectable. Customer service is outstanding. The baked goods are fresh and on top of that like one reviewer said they will offer to warm or toast anything for you. Sweet. The drinks are rich in flavor and they will serve them up any way you like (nonfat, sugar-free, etc). Some of my favorite drinks are the badass mocha which is light and dark chocolate, monkey mocha which is dark chocolate with banana its delish I promise. Give this place a try folks...yummers. They are generous with their expresso shots as well. I can really feel the energy surge difference from the caffeine when I have my coffee at Badass compared to Starbucks.

I LOVE this place with capital letters. They're about the same price as my regular independent coffee shop and I've made the switch. I haven't tried anything but the americano and the vanilla caramel latte, but each are worth their weight in gold. I don't leave reviews often unless they're bad, but I want one of these next door to my office. I'm just thankful it's on my way home for the days I need a pick-me-up. :)
