I don't normally go out of my way to leave reviews but this place took the cake. Great food, actually I will venture to say the best sandwhich west of the mississippi. The people who work there are incredible as well, very friendly and helpful. Go!

Decided to get sandwiches to go for our trip to Strawberry Park; ordered grilled cheese for the boys, which was generous and loaded with cheddar.
Wife and I split the turkey trailhead, which included roasted turkey, Swiss cheese, avocado, red onion, tomato, romaine and honey Dijon. Decent sized sandwich, and staff was extremely friendly and efficient.
Great spot to pick up some fun grub for a picnic, hike or any other outdoor activity. -

As far as sandwiches are concerned, Backcountry Provisions makes some of the best I've ever had. The day we went snowmobiling, the snowmobile company ordered sandwiches from here, offering us a choice of turkey, roast beef, or ham. I had a simple roast beef sandwich, and I was blown away. The fact that such a simple sandwich could be so fresh and flavorful really blew me away. Every bite tasted garden fresh and bold. The sandwich was super filling, too. Everyone with me was blown away by how good the sandwiches here are. Definitely recommend!

We came here last time we were in Steamboat (2008) and thought that returning was a great idea while we were back from Chicago. Boy, it was.
The Turkey Trailhead and the Avalanche made us extremely happy. I love that each sandwich is unique with different breads, cheeses and sauces.
Build your own, if you like, too.

This place is probably the best sammie I've had in a LONG time. Fresh, light, yet filling.
Friendly service with a smile from the probably-half-baked-but-super-cool guys at the counter. ;) -

I love me some sammies!!!
No frills, yummy sandwiches. Amazing, fresh ingredients. Cute boys behind the counter. (sorry husband =) )
P.S. Get the potato salad. It rivals my mom's homemade stuff. Amazing. -

GREAT Sandwiches. Fresh ingredients, ample choice. College-age guys working there are so professional, you could easily believe they own the place.

If there were 6 stars on Yelp, I would give BCP 6 stars. Every Sandwich I have ordered here has been delicious and just an amazing lunch. My only complaint is that they are not open past 5.
hands down the best LOX bagel sandwich in the area. -

Excellent sandwiches, great and friendly service... All around awesome! We were here both days for lunch after snowboarding and couldn't get enough. Try the Pilgrim I think it's called? Yum!

I've lived in Steamboat for ten years and unfortunately this place is one block from my office. I would conservatively guess that I average seventy sandwiches per year from this local deli. That's 700 sandwiches or $6300.00 in sandwich meals. I have never had a non-delicious meatwich from this local's favorite. I have also never gotten a complimentary sandwich from shop owner Pete. You can't go wrong here. Please try the 14'er with coleslaw and turkey. You may also enjoy meatball monday.

Review from Ryley B.
Great sandwiches, both Italian and French styles. Excellent cheeses, meats and bread. They obviously know what they're doing here! I found the menu a bit overwhelming, so I let them make me whatever they wanted... Worked out so well I came back and did it again the next day!

Tasty, fresh sandwiches and a staff that remembers us even though we don't live in Steamboat. I'm normally a one sandwich guy and this place has so many good sandwiches I still eat around the menu.

Some of the best customer service I have experienced anywhere at anytime. Very impressed. Great selection of sandwiches and a lot of places to sit (inside and out). I highly recommend this place. My family and I went here after being kicked out of Creekside Grill (apparently you can only eat at Creekside if all of your party is there at that instance, and it doesn't matter if you are already seated). It was as opposite as you can get coming over to Backcountry Provisions instead. It was refreshing to be taken care of.

I concur with the other reviewers, we ordered several sandwiches on the last few days and they all were great! One thing to note... on the iPhone yelp app the address showed to be 635 South Lincoln, but they are 635 Lincoln... which means they are right downtown and not south of town.

If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or an amazing sandwich in Steamboat (and now in Denver!), Backcountry is the place to go as all locals can tell you! The staff is super friendly and quick and the food is fresh and tasty as can be!

Excellent selection of sandwiches. All the ingredients are fresh. Meats and cheeses are of good quality. Prices are typical for a ski town. Nice to sit outside on the patio.

Every sandwich I have ever order from BCP has been great. It is a hot spot for the high-school lunch crowd (from 11:45-12:20 ish M-F) so it can get pretty busy but it is worth it. The sandwiches all use quality meats, cheeses and veggies and are on great bread (I like the wheat).
