I do enjoy Backyard Burgers. They have one o the better fast food burgers out there. They used to always be packed, but ever since Five Guys opened, the place could look deserted at times.
This place has a classic drive-thru and if you decide to eat in, they take your order at the counter and bring it out to you. They have a variety of items on the menu from burgers and chicken sandwiches to hot dogs and salads. There's even a couple of TV's to watch some sports.
I've had the 2/3 lb burger combo ($7). It comes with a large waffle fries and large drink. The burger is fantastic. It is an actual burger with real angus beef as opposed to heated frozen patties. The waffle fries are great. Another great thing here is the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich. Its a balckened grilled chicken breast with a pineapple slice. It's really good and it's a nice combo.
This place is a great place to grab a burger. Prices are higher than other fast food places, but you're getting higher quality stuff. -

I don't know what's happened here, whether the brand has changed management, or whether the employees just don't care (probably both), but the food quality has taken a nose dive. The lemonade tastes significantly chemical now, and the fries taste of stale oil, which can't be hidden in thick-cut waffle fries.
It's a shame, I used to love this place. But I'm not going to keep spending money here based on nostalgia when Chik-Fil-A is around the corner and still doin' it and doin' it well. Unfortunately, everyone else I know gave up on BYB a long time ago, so I probably won't be back.Listed in: AVOID.

After reading other reviews, I thought this place would be a decent drive-through to get a quick burger. I was WRONG.
If you like frozen beef patties from Costco or plain tasting minor league baseball stadium burgers then this place is for you, otherwise stay away.
In the future when I want fast food burgers I'll spend $1 at Wendeys instead of $4 at Backyard. -

While still fairly new to Gainesville, Back Yard Burgers has provides fast, friendly service (they bring your food to your seat on a silver tray...nice touch) and good burgers. They have an assortment of different types of both beef and chicken burgers, salads, chili, hot dogs and sides.
Price averages around $ 5 - 7 dollars and the food is worth it.

Black and Bleu Bacon Cheeseburger. Seriously. Try it. Just be sure to have some Aspirin nearby just in case you actually have the heart attack that you feel you could have at any minute while or after eating here. An excellent binge meal and it's quality is much better than the McD's/BK crap that most people settle for. The seasoned fries and onion rings are not bad either.
