I absolutely love Back BAYYYYY oh my god.
They have THE BEST Seafood Pasta in the world.
A littttle overpriced but I love it. Seriouslyyyyy seafood pasta. so good and so worth being probably 2 days worth of calories. hahahahah
Oh and last time I went there, May 2009, they didn't have a liquor license so it's BYOB! so awesome. -

If you're at a WVU game and need a fish fix, look no farther than Back Bay .
A slightly more rounded version of Red Lobster run by a longtime independent restaurateur from the area.
Nothing extremely fancy, but well prepared fish, steaks and seafood with decent service and good prices.
Semi exotic dishes with alligator can be had everyday. -

I really have no idea why people in the area have a love affair with this restaurant. Their fish is not fresh, thus, if you get something deep fried, it'll cover up the unfortunate taste...think of it as a little under par from Red Lobster (which is nothing more than prepackaged frozen over processed food).
If you're looking for good FRESH seafood, this is not the place. -

Back Bay is a great little restaurant though it seems oddly out of place in Morgantown. This is one of those locally owned places and it really shows. It has been a while since I have been there, but the service is always great, and the taste of the food spot on. I highly recommend the turtle soup. It sounds odd, but if you can get past the fact that this is a glowingly common pet, you will be ok. It tastes like a great spicy chili.Yum!

The food here is uneven... most of it is a throw-back to the 1950s when seafood was generally either deep fried or broiled into oblivion. I've had dishes that were great one night, and lousy a few weeks later, and learned to steer clear of the more creative dishes unless the head chef is cooking that night. (Ex: I once had positively perfect soft shell crabs there. A month later, I ordered the same dish, and the crabs had not been properly cleaned, they were far from fresh, and they had been seriously overcooked.) In the end, the most positive thing I can say about Back Bay is that it's locally owned--so before you head to the new Red Lobster, which is consistent but in that bland, mall-food way, at least give Back Bay a try.
