My OMFG review wasn't good enough so........
You get the hugest slice of pizza in the world for $5 with a drink. Superb. I hope this is a decent enough review, yelp. Seriously this place is very cheap and good after say a concert and you are tired and don't want to wait for food to be cooked at a sit down. So filling.
I have been ordering take out from Bacci for years. I've tried most of the menu.
The pizza is very good. Be sure to get the garlic crust.
They have a delicious Cheezy Beef sandwich. The french fries are very delcious and have some garlic salt on them to bring out the flavor.
I was very impressed with their Panzerotti and Calzones. They are amazoing.

Listen this pizza is the general, run-of-the-mill greasy pizza shop.
I love this place because the pizza is larger than my torso.
They have a box shaped just for this torso pizza slice.
You get more pizza than imagine for hardly any money.
They give you a pop with your pizza! Now that is service!
They also have a variety of other food, although I have never eaten anything else, nor have I seen anyone eating any other kind.
This particular location has moved across the street in a bigger, better place. The new store is very clean and charming.
Excellent for bribing friends who just helped you move in. After that fun experience, my wife and I bought a bunch of different kinds $5 pizza slices as big as your head and we feasted. Focus here is on cheese and ingredients as delivering the flavor, not the sauce (pretty tame), crust, or spices. Their gelato is pretty good, though more like ice cream.
Also, some people might like it that they have free wi-fi.
Safety is not a concern when you go here. Meaning that every time I go, the place is filled with cops, EMTs, and firemen, all with large waists and satisfied looks on their faces. So you won't be catching on fire or getting mugged while you're there.
I don't care what kind of scum go into Bacci or the likes of the ppl. hanging out outside of it.........I don't care! I used to get Bacci on quite the regular when I used to go to UIC. and I am still a huge fan. I had some a few nights ago, and I'd forgotten how yummy it is!
Maybe ppl think because this pizza is sooo cheap and quick and in the hood that it wouldn't be good, but I think it is delicious!!!
check it out.....huge slice + a pop for very little!

This Bacci has a special place in my heart. When I was a student at UIC, I lived half a block away from this place and for one summer, subsisted on their pizza alone. For realz, I had like a slice a day.
I can admit the quality of the pizza is not the best, but for the price, the value is there.
I also recommend their potato sandwich which is: crinkle cut french fries, on an italian beef type roll, dipped into the beef juice used for the actual italian beef (bits of the beef stick to your non-vegetarian potato sandwich.) So good. I will give you a sick piece of advice--- ask for mozzarella cheese on it. Also, you're best to eat this sandwich with a fork. The beef juice makes the bread quite soggy. And delicious.
I've had their lasagna and gnocchi, neither very good.

Yeh so what's it mean when the price is reasonable? It means that it's what you pay for. You're not getting a deal or something that's uber awesome. You get what you get. The pizza here was ok, i probably wont order from this place again. The cheese, toppings and crust were just blah. Nothing special, nothing to look forward to.
The other items on the menu may be better but I'll never know.

I remember going here after a night of drinking. It must have been around 2 or 3am. My friend went in and got the pizza slices to go. I remember trying to give him money, but him telling me that they were cheap and not to worry about it. Which means they must be REALLY cheap because HE is a cheap bastard.
Then we got home and opened the box, I felt like the pizza slices were ginormous. My other friend kept saying "Look at how BIIIG it is." Then we would giggle.
We ate our pizza on the kitchen floor. It was greasy and gooey and magnificent. I could only finish 1/3 of mine. Then we spun ourselves around on our butts on the kitchen floor for 5 minutes and went to bed. Then I woke up and ate the rest of my pizza and it was deeeelicious.
You could go across the street and get a slice from a competitor for a dollar cheaper, but then you would have to walk past the pan-handlers before you go in and tell them, "I'll get you on the way out, man. " Then when you walk out you would have to say, "Oh sorry, I spent all my money on this piece of pizza and pop."

My options for delivery where I work are limited to pizza and chinese. I used to be able to get shrimp from Western Ave Shrimp House, but alas, they fired the delivery guy. I've eaten pizza from every joint in the neighborhood that delivers it and Bacci is the current pizza of choice.
The pizza is okay, nothing spectacular.
My top non-pizza pick:
Steak Sandwich - Fresh, chewy bread, pounded steak, grilled onions, tomato, mayo and oil.
Other plusses: cheap, NO delivery minimum.
Minusses: If having it delivered, make sure to check the order. They consistently forget something (hence three stars.) Not very hot when it arrives, even though we're only a half mile away.
EDIT: had to remove the polite phone service line because the woman who took our order today was very abrupt and when we asked about the free wings with our order, she told us it was too late and she'd already rung up the order on the card. She said that she'd remind us next time. What?

Are you interested in buying a piece of pizza bigger than your head with mere pennies? This is the place to do it!
Thin, greasy, huge piece pizza (1 lb. each) with a big pop is exactly what you are gonna get here. No thrills (besides some parmesan and pepper flakes to add). But good.
They also have a contest once a year to see who can eat the most pizza and you can try to qualify at all their locations.

I haven't been able to try anything else here besides the big pizza slices. I'm a student so I get the slight discount. Is it just me, or is this place cheaper than the Bacci in Wrigleyville? I thought I had to pay $5 there and only $3 at this place for the pizza and pop. I would gladly go out of my way to fill up for the rest of the day. Yeah, I can eat a whole slice in one sitting. :P
Probably Chicago's safest pizzeria, based on the preponderance of the blue and white outside on any given day. The pizza slices here are ENORMOUS. Not "New York style" (notice how Manhattanites claim New York is only the island until one of the other boroughs has something good?) because this HUGE pizza slice isn't floppy and soggy. It's good thin crust for Chicago. It's cheap and fast and pretty darn tasty. Besides pizza they have various other typical greasy spoon offerings.

One of Bacci's five Chicagoland locations, this one on Taylor Street caters to the university and health care crowd around the west-side medical district. There is also the usual smattering of Chicago's finest - which is worth another star right there!
Freshly prepared food at very reasonable prices, this place hops at lunchtime! There's not a lot of dining space to plan on ordering "to go."

I used to be a regular here when my boyfriend lived above this place. Their Eggplant Parmesan is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Stay away from this place if you happen to be on a diet!
So Good! If you are out drinking and are craving pizza this place offers the jumbo slice with a free drink to go with it! What gets better than that! If your with friends and want to order a pizza their large pizza is more than enough for a group of people and it is fairly reasonable.
Pretty good deals here. You get an enormous piece of pizza and drink (free refils) for $3.50. UIC students even get a 10% discount. The food is good and cheap.
This is one of the worst pizza places in Chicago. I guess that others like because they're drunk when they go there. The pizza is generally undercooked and the crust is doughy. I also tried the sandwiches which are tasteless and sloppy. A lot of gangbangers and ghetto people go there to eat, which adds to the local color.
Actually had a bacci set with me when I discovered this eatery. Food's quite good! Really liked the tuna melt as well as the mozz. and tomato panini. Prices are affordable.
