I stopped here on my way out of town with my family for a "snack." Which means I almost missed it. And that, my friends, would have been devastating.
It is AMAZING DELICIOUS PERFECTION in the world of barbecue.
No one could ask for more. We bought little pints of pulled pork, smoked brisket and beef jerky. I was so excited at all the different sauces I had to chose from. Brought a sampling outside and did not touch a single one. I don't know why they offer sauce at all. It doesn't need it. As for the beef jerky, I had to go back for more.
I eat more than my fair share of BBQ. And this is the best thing I have ever tasted. Everything was beyond perfect. Melt in your mouth delicious smokey meat. It is a meal you would ask for on death row. -

It was OK, but I wasn't impressed. For a place that, as a lot of places do, claim to be Texas BBQ, I'd have to say that it was nowhere near TX bbq. Im from Tx, and while the brisket was good there (very good), Texans look for brisket and the sauce as the most important bbq items. Their sauce was like water and was more of a North Carolina vinegar sauce - nothing youll ever find in Tejas. The potato salad was really spicy, which I liked and the macaroni was decent. I didn't have anything else, so I cant say, but I definitely was let down because I had heard a couple people tell me about this place and I have had it bookmarked on Yelp for 3-4 yrs to try. As far as MA bbq, I still havent found a better place than Tennessee's (Braintree location anyway).

BT's Smokehouse, I love you so much. I feel like I could write a novel on this place so I will try to keep it short and sweet. Every meat there is awesome, slow cooked to perfection, the sides are excellent, I love the Mac and Cheese, and they make their own soft drinks and beef jerky. Small place, you can smell the food right when you pull in. Also: BYOB!
BT's catered my wedding reception, it was the biggest hit of the summer (having had many nasty wedding meals) and people are still talking about it. He pulled right in with the smoker, really impressive. (For all you Dive Bar lovers, we are the ones who turned on Alec to BT's, he never had it before our reception.) Also, compared to other catering places, the pricing was incredibly reasonable, I definitely recommend this place for catering, even the vegetarians fell in love with the non-meat side dishes.
I love you BT's, thank you for existing, you totally rock. -

Great food, but the staff and ownership needs to read a book about customer service if they can even read. I won't eat here again.

We stopped here by accident, not expecting much, and had an epic meal. We ate a beef brisket sandwich, bison burger, onion rings and slaw. Those words, however, are sadly inadequate to describe what was served to us. The sandwiches were works of art. The onion rings were sublime. Even the slaw was far above average.
The place isn't fancy and it is BYOB. Wear an old shirt and expect great things!
Also, friendly service. -

The BEST beef brisket sandwich I've ever had in my life. The meat was literally melting in my mouth as I ate it. This is my Dad's new favorite restaurant - He RAVES about the pulled pork.
Huge slices of pecan pie - Ginormous servings of bread pudding.
Oh man, I might just grab the next train back home right now so I can get some delicious BBQ!!! -

Next year I am forgoing the boiled dinner on St Patrick's Day. What will I replace it with? How about a delectably smoky corned beef brisket sandwich with tangy cabbage & red onion slaw. Sound good? IT WAS!!!!! I sense a new tradition abrewin'!
Since I had a youngin' with me we also ordered a side of fries (huge!) and 2 corn dogs. I almost didn't order the corn dog -- it's $4.50, expenive, right? Well, it's worth it -- the last time I saw something that big, the background music went something like "bom chicka wow wow" ;)
Long live BT's!!!!!Listed in: Make me a sammich!

I ate here 2 weeks ago and have been craving and talking about this place for the past 2 weeks. I got the $13 plate as well which included 2 meats and 2 sides (and I got a hunk of cornbread too). I got the pulled pork and the beef brisket and both were phenomenal. I mean really, truly, completely delicious food. My dad is in love with their vinegary cole slaw, and the beans were just awesome as well.
I cannot wait to go back. This place is haunting my dreams! -

OH MY GOD!! I didn't realize I had never really had bbq until I ate at B.T.'s Smokehouse. It is an experience like no other!! Stumbled across the place on accident. Stopped at Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge on a roadtrip to Fenway celebrating by brother's and my besties bday day and we decided we needed a snack. There was no way we were going to McD's so we headed to the corner of the building where we saw a BBQ sandwich board on sidewalk...and the rest is history. We didn't know what we wanted so the guy behind the counter offered us sample after sample. As we waddled back to the car, shouting that we'd see him on the way back, he let us know about their mothership 3 miles down route 20 where they actually do the smoking. Long story short, on the way back home, we filled our trunk with a bbq feast to end all feasts.
Thank You B.T.'s. You are AWESOME -

Oh boy, get yourself here before the weekend lunch rush because the lines get long and there isn't a ton of staff on deck to handle the volume.
We stopped in on a Sunday for lunch and ordered a bunch of things. I was excited to try BT's because the reviews were so great and I'm a huge BBQ fan.
The sides were amazing. The beans were maybe the best I've ever had - slightly undercooked but smoky and flavorful, the texture was extremely good. The cole slaw was delicious - a little spicy and not to creamy. Same with the potato salad, the sauce is spicy but won't burn your face off. The onion rings were a good in theory but the batter used was all wrong. It had great taste and texture but did not want to stay on the super thin onion slices. More flour and less oil guys! The mac and cheese was unbelievably good, and I don't even really like mac and cheese! It was made with shells and was covered in the creamiest cheese sauce of all time. The pulled pork was a disappointment, sadly. It was very greasy and fatty. I spent too much time cleaning it up which is something that should be done before it hits my plate.
The house made BBQ sauces are amazing. They are mostly vinegar based so they're loose and watery, not thick and tight like most BBQ sauces, but the flavor is big. The house made catchup is CRAZY good. I wish they bottled that stuff. I would have bought 5. Also, do yourself a favor and get their lemon tea. So good!
Our enormous lunch only cost $33 which was a steal considering the portions and quality of the food. Service was good, friendly, but reaaallllly slow. We sat outside on the picnic tables which was really nice in the sun. I would come back here anytime! -

I ordered the beef brisket reuben, personally I thought it was good -- kind of like those super greasy sandwiches you see on the travel chanel shows. My girl got the barbecue pulled chicken burrito but wasn't a fan. The pulled chicken was like chunks of chicken, not pulled or barbecued.
Also picked up some of there mild jerky, it was on the pricey side and some pieces were broken down by the marinade...some what soft.
Food- 4/5
Service- 4/5
Price- 3/5 -

In Sturbridge just for the night. Read other reviews and thought why not, give it a try. Thank you Yelpers for steering me right!
YUM, YUM, YUM! 2 meats + 2 sides for only $13. The meat was so succulent and delicious. They ran out of brisket, but the pulled pork hit the spot. Sauces on the side, but you really don't need those at all. The desserts looked great, but just no more room in the tummy.
Also have to say they were extremely cordial. They were trying to close up but did not rush us at all. -

They are now closed at this location. Stopped in on 8/28/10 and the place was bare. There was a sign in the window that they were closing in three days...we drove up the block to the restaurant. See my review of that location if you are interested.

I think it's a good deal. Portions are generous, food is good, prices are fair, no waitresses to tip, just a counter.

So, I have heard about this place for years, and had the opportunity to stop by for lunch. We ordered (2) of the Pulled Pork sands, and one Iced tea. Total: $13.00 But when we sat down to eat them, we found almost 50% of the meat was actually fat. Now do understand that the part that was meat, had a nice bark, and tons of flavor. But 50% of the balance was fat... Ribs looked nice on other plates, so perhaps that is the way to go, and skip the Pulled Pork sands..
