I hope all Bed and Breakfast are like this one!!
This was my first experience at a Bed and Breakfast and the B Street B&B was outstanding! As soon as we checked in we were greeted with cookies, lemonade and/or tea. I really felt like a welcomed guest.
The house is filled with history as it was an original house from the 1800's which was restored by the current owners Chris and Carolyn. In side our room there was a folder with before and after pictures of the renovation in addition to stories about the current owner's work during the renovation. I was really amazed at how much work was put into the renovation by Chris and Carolyn. I also enjoyed the detailed stories they told us at breakfast about the house. The attention to detail in the house and hard work paid off and is very evident as you walk through it.
The rooms were terrific. Each room has its own bathroom, TV and DVD player. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
Breakfast was also marvelous. Carolyn makes all the courses which are worth getting up for (I am not a morning person, so I was very glad I sacrificed sleeping in). My experience was a little spoiled in that no other guests joined us for dinner so we had the full attention of Chris and Carolyn who made great company.
The house is also one block from the main street, so you could walk to any place in the city. Oh, and they have parking at the house for guests!!
One thing I didn't know before I came was that they give you a key which will open the front door on the house and the door to your room so you can come and go as you please. I was a little naive in that I didn't know how getting into and out of the house would work.
Check this place it, it is worth every dollar!! -

We have enjoyed three weekend vacations with Chris and Carolyn at the B Street House. Each time has been uniquely wonderful and I highly recommend making a special trip to Virginia City, just for the experience of staying at the B & B. We have always felt their warmth when welcomed with tea or lemonade and cookies!
They have renovated the house to nearly original condition and have many photos of the before and after process. In addition, they are Virginia City history buffs and are happy to share all the stories and secrets of the town!
The beds are absolutely outstanding. I have stayed in every room of the house and find them all very charming and comfortable. Each room features its own full bathroom complete with tub and the towels are heavenly soft!
Mere words do not do justice to the scrumptious and filling three course breakfast! Fresh juices and coffee, homemade baked cinnamon rolls and pastries, delicious egg dishes, french toast made from homemade walnut wheat bread, a variety of syrups, and the most original and delectable fruit dishes I have ever tasted.
You will not leave without making new friends and having the most amazing stay at B Street House. Thank you Chris and Carolyn for three fabulous weekends! See you next year! -

I don't think I can say enough great things about the B Street Bed and Breakfast. Upon arriving we were welcomed by Carolyn and Chris with cookies, lemonade and iced tea. We were given a tour and then shown to our room. We stayed in the Sam Davis room. It is quite spacious and the light blue color is very calming. Each room has its own bathroom which is a great perk. The bath towels were so incredibly soft and the shower head was just marvelous. Everything was so clean. Chris and Carolyn did a fantastic job of renovating the property and returning it to its original condition, or pretty close to it anyway. I mean, they even had the original wallpaper replicated in the parlor room and the original medallion hangs from the ceiling. It's amazing how much they paid attention to detail when renovating the property. It was the home of Henry Piper. Our overall experience was nothing short of perfect. We were able to come and go as we please as we were given a key to get in and out of the house. We ended our evening fairly early because we wanted to be sure and get up for the homemade breakfast. I highly recommend not missing this. It was three courses and just mouthwatering. Carolyn has awards from Better Home and Garden for several of her baked goods. She also just created a cook book which has been printed and is on sale. I recommend buying that as it has 100 of her best recipes. You can purchase a copy directly from her. I can't wait to try and make the Orange Cherry White Chocolate scones. Yum!! Also, be sure and check out the garden. They've done a marvelous job of making it absolutely beautiful. We can't wait to visit again!

This was our first trip to Virginia City, and it was fun. Should have stayed 2 days in order to see everything, but we did not have that time. But we 'gambled' and stayed at this B&B and came away a winner!
The inn keepers also gambled 3 years ago, when they bought an extremely run down, falling down, building that had become a home for feral cats. Wish I could say they then waved thei magic wands, but it was, instead, 3 years of hard work that turned this place into the beauty it is today.
They have restored as much as they could, and rebuilt the rest. They have decorated it beautifully, and made it welcoming and comfortable. I almost hate sharing this place with the public...
Only 3 bedrooms, all with private baths, and all decorated beautifully. The inn keepers are friendly - helpful - and knowledgable.
And trust me, if they send you to eat at the Cafe Del Rio - run right over there! The food was scrumptions - and that place also has its own makeover story! The people working there are very friendly also.
But make sure you save a lot of room for breakfast. The food was delicious.....sparkling apple cider, mango/orange juice, tea or coffee; mini blueberry muffins, and melt in your mouth scones. Followed by a fruit plate. Which was then followed by shirred eggs, potatoes, and sausages. We left stuffed and feeling guilty becuase we could not do it all justice (and maybe becuase we went back for seconds on the scones!).
We are looking forward to visiting there another time - in order to visit the rest of the city but also because this was such a lovely B&B! -
