Why, yes...a lunch at Bloomie's, lovely!
(this makes me feel like a "lady who lunches")
Obviously, I am not...but I can certainly appreciate a non-chain, quick-ish lunch option downtown, hidden away from tourists and the errant group of high school kids from nearby private schools.
Chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato on french bread, with a side salad. Indeed, a beautiful lunch for a mere $10. Add coffee, and well...let's move and shake and make stuff happen, it's a lunch meeting.
GREAT service. They are in the midst of a remodel right now...so expect spiffy things to come. Plus, liquor license. :)
$12 validated parking in parking garage, just have server give you a ticket. (Otherwise, its $24). -

I'm updating because I had another great visit to B Cafe but this time I had dessert. We had the hot fudge sundae (with mint ice cream) and the coconut cake. First of all, the sundae was huge; easily sharable for two people. I went for the coconut cake which was delicious. It was fresh, moist, and just the right amount of sweet. So yeah, I've had brunch here many times but it was a first on dessert but won't be the last.

They have coffee for $1.25 before 10am!! Very convenient for those who work in the building! And the lady that works in the mornings always remembers me and is so sweet!

My stars here are strictly for the frozen yogurt (soft serve) at the TO GO counter. I CRAVE that stuff like crack! Get the plain swirled with the strawberry - and maybe top it with some rainbow sprinkles like I do! Yum. I perfect capper to an overworked (or overshopped) afternoon!

I've been going to Bloomies for a while and never knew they had a lil diner on the 6th floor. Now I don't go to bloomies to often because everything is so EXPENSIVE there, but on occasion I like to check out there clearance rack. For example today was a GREAT day to check it out! I spent 63.00 dollars on my son's and got 8 items of clothing all Ralph Lauren and Guess ranging from jeans-tees-sweater...I was beyond amazed at how I got 8 items each for less then 10.00 dollars a piece. Anyhow, for obvious reason I was in a very good mood and as we were walking out with our bags I saw the lil diner and decided to check it out. It looks like an old lil diner and the way it set up def. reminds me of one. Anyhow we ordered as follows:
Bloomies burger with an 8 oz of ground lean meat ( it was piled high with Lettuce, tomato cheddar cheese, red onion, a spear pickle and chips)
Turkey BLT ( it had a generous amount of meat a lot of bacon which is always rare and as a side my son got the Cesar salad which was very tasty)
Steak with Artichoke salad ( it was a grilled steak piled on top of fresh spinach, roasted tomatoes, grilled asparagus, artichokes, goat cheese and a lemon vinaigrette which was very tasty)
Needless to say everything was very good and I was pleasantly surprised with the portions and not to much with the prices (it was pretty pricey), tho considering how much money I saved shopping it was a nice treat, but the best partwas def. dessert. We ordered(actually I ordered) the chocolate sponge cake with chocolate cream and iced with dark chocolate and a side of vanilla ice cream......WOW WOW WOW it was beyond delicious. I haven't had such a well balanced piece of chocolate cake that wasn't over powered by the cream filling or icing...it was perfect in every way!! I recommend you try it if u ever stop by for a bite!!!
P.S.
I also got a cup of cappuccino and it was horrible and because I'm a huge coffee drinker I'm only giving them 4 stars :( -

My secret weapon for getting my boyfriend to shop downtown with me? The B Cafe Shoppers Delight sandwich...creamy avocado, the crispiest bacon, tomato, mayo on toast with homemade chips. Mmm, mmm, mmm...it is expensive there, but the food is just delicious. You can either sit in the little cafe area, or go around the corner and sit at the counter. I think the counter service is a bit faster, but the waiter in the cafe is super nice.
