I have been going here for years for facials and Christine is amazing. I will not let anyone else touch my face but her! The prices are very reasonable and the facial lasts over 2 hours (including eyebrow plucking, massage, etc.) which is much more than you will get at a typical spa for the same price. Also they will thoroughly clean your face and extract everything out of your pores, but I have never had any redness afterwards, so they know what they are doing. Some of the rooms are private, most aren't, so be aware that people will be coming in and out of the treatment rooms the whole time and talking to each other. But, if you want a thorough facial for $65, this is the best place.

"Chinatown service" is not true of all Chinatown establishments.  Like all stereotypes there are some truth and also lots of exceptions.  Be Beauty is one of those spa where you can get a great facial for a discounted price without skimping on cleanliness.  Expect that facials would cost about $70 and up (+ 15-20% tipping of the original price of the facial).  This is quite expensive for me as I get mine for about $30 from 21 Sai Kay, but you get what you paid for.

The difference between Be Beauty and Sai Kay 21 is that their robes are all washed.  The professionalism is just higher, and they are more attuned to details.  They lay out fresh towel for each client on the facial bed.  They also have a place for you to put your shoes and hang up your clothes.  There's more space.  There is minimal talking between staff.  The lights are dimmed in each facial room.  There are infusers and candle when you walk into the lobby, and in the bathroom.   There is a frosted glass wall/door between the lobby and where the facial is done which gives it more privacy.  For goodness sakes!  They even make a display for their front window, and fresh flowers in the lobby.

Another thing I love about Chinese facial places and service (in general) is their flexibility.  They will try their best to schedule you in, you can cancel at last minute, they are flexible if you are in a hurry they will try their best to get you out at the time that you need to be out.  I had to call 20 minute before the appointment to tell them that I would be an hour late, and then I had to rush through the facial.  They were not only gracious, but gave me the mask to finish off at home instead.    Their service was exceptional.

I must admit they are good.  All the complaints I have of 21 Sai Kay is corrected at Be Beauty.  I will probably occasionally go back to Be Beauty with my girlfriend who bought a package there, but I have loyalty to my facial place.  However if I was going to spend $70 on a facial, I would rather come to Be Beauty than to 21 Sai Kay.

This is a great choice for all the ladies out there who is looking for a great facial place that is clean and have experience esthetician.    If you didn't enjoy your experience with Sai Kay 21 I would try Be Beauty or Origo Spa.

SO GLAD that my friend Annie told me about this place.  This is not one of those ordinary cheapo chinatown beauty salons.  I could tell by the products they've used on me are exclusively used by luxury spa locations mostly imported from France.

Lately, I've been having a little acne problem on my face around the t-zone area.  Upon arriving, the staffs were very attentive and addressed all the questions I had as a first-time customers, and explained to me the differences between various services.  I ended up trying the Caviar and Pearl Facial Enzyme Peel.  YES Carviar and Pearl!  It really helped my skin problem and I could see how quickly my skin had improved.  So I went back again two weeks later, and got the 10-sessions package. =)

Note that this place might not be as big as those big brand spa places, but it's clean and fresh.  Bottom line, I rather them spending the money on products that they put on my face than on the decor.

    Enjoy~

Being new to the area, I am hoping to find a good facial/spa to go monthly. I was honestly hoping that Chinatown would have great service for a cheap price. Well....like everything in life, you get what you pay for.

This place was recommended by a friend and even though it's not exactly cheap, I am quite pleased with the service.  Basic facials start at $65 up to $140 for the not so basic ones.  Like most [asian] places, they were trying to sell me the $85 hydration facial but I stuck with my 65$ one.

To my suprise, 65 bucks got me quite far.  This was my experience:

got in, stripped down to the towel they gave me. Everything smelled fresh and nice. Went into a room and laid down on the bed where they immediately covered me up with a nice blanket. Then, a series of lotions and creams followed.  Steamer was placed for ~10 min, followed by intense exfoliation. it hurts like crap, but I could tell they were doing a good job because they go the not so common spots of the face.  Then, more lotions and creams, facial massage including eye sockets, cheeks, nose, ears... chest massage, upper back massage.  Then, cheesecloth with some thick cream wrap.  The ending was more massage and more anti-bacterial cream.

Whole process lasted for about 90 min. The atmosphere was nice, people are not too pushy to sell products and facility seems pretty clean.  Staff appeared professional and acted that way too.

    Overall, great experience. =)

I have been here about 20 times.
Now, until yesterday, I had not been for maybe two years, but at one time, I had a membership, loved it and was there all the time.
So I was there yesterday: Now please keep in mind that I do not believe, given some pretty extensive experience at salons in NYC, that you will do better for the money IF the actual results of the facial~meaning how you look afterwards~is your main consideration. BB does a GREAT job with the actual end result.
Now, it was, a few years ago, a $50 facial. And that alone made it well worth the trip. But the price has gone up to $85~so it is definitely on par with pricey salons. The primary benefit of coming here has been greatly diminished with the increase in price.
The place is nice enough, clean etc. The ladies who do the facials are lovely and sweet, attentive. You already expect that you will share a room with other customers and there is NOTHING fancy about this place. No spa feel, no lemon water, no saunas~this is NO Great Jones AT ALL. (but Great Jones has its own problems) But, I honestly will never get used to the amount of chatter and loudness that is considered acceptable between workers at Chinatown salons. Why is it hard to understand that your customers are trying to relax and listening to really loud gossip in ANY language really ruins the moment?
So it is now much more expensive with the same bare bones environment~and, because my facialist had more than myself to work on, my 90minute facial took~2 and 1/2 hours! Much of which was me just lying there with some concoction on my face.
I had no idea how much time had passed, and being NYE, I had other things I needed to do!
Will I go back? Not sure. I love how clean my skin is, so I would ONLY go for the cleaning~the 10 different creams and lotions are really not necessary in my opinion, when you just want fresh clean skin.
I will try some other spots before I go back.
Sorry BB, please pick up your game, don't forget your purpose, and I will be back.

I have been here several times and really like this space. Imagine my disappointment when I stopped by today and discovered it was closed. Not sure if they are closed for good or just remodeling. No signs were posted to indicate when or if they would reopen.

Ok this applies only to one of the manicurist called selina. Absolutely awful experience. She asked me to add a feet scrub saying that my skin is too dry , that is fine but the problem is she misrepresented tand price and she does not even know what the pricing is for members! The most outrageous thing is she never even bother to correct the price! When I said thereappears to be a misunderstanding, she said it costs 38, I  was in a hurry so I paid and left. An hour later I returned to fix 2 of my nails as the polish has come off, she was busy and another lady offered to help me, she did not even check the colour and said "the one on the table, about the same ok"' and they ended up using the wrong colour! I only discovered it after I left and that is why I am writing this review. She also keep asking me to buy a personal scrub and she could not stop talking to give me a moment's peace. Simply awful experience. That being said, facial here is great, especially Wendy. Does a thorough and amazing job.
