I love this place soooo much! I always get the garlic chicken or spicy pork bowl and It's sooo good. Everyone is so nice. Staff is so friendly. I love all the sauces they provide. I get the regular sized bowl for about 8 dollars and it's huge! I usually can get a about three meals out of it. I love! Also, the green mint lemonade is awesome.

I just got back from lunch at this place. I'm a little person, with a small tummy, the size of my little fist... AND I'm still hungry.
I had an old school rice BOWL that came in a styrofoam BOX. There was probably a handful of rice in it, drenched in a watery sauce and overloaded with zucchini. There was maybe, five or six chunks of beef in it, and my over-easy eggs were over-cooked. If you know what a traditional bimbap dish is supposed to be like, you know that this description is all wrong.
With tax, I paid almost $10 for this. I could have gone down to K-town on Royal and gotten this dish cooked right and for less money.
And I'm still hungry. -
Review from Claire S.
The food is not bad but I had a hard time understanding their business model. After reading the reviews, I expected the food to be more Chipotle style bibimbab. However, the food is basically Mongolian Barbecue but with limited ingredients.
You have limited number of veggies and meat that you choose. Then they cook it with your choice of starch and bring it out to you. The price is not very different from Genghis Grill, either. At least at Genghis Grill, I can put all kinds of veggies and any meat for slightly more money. OK. there is bibimbab sauce and other Asian sauces that you can put on your meal, but that is about the extent of the difference between Genghis Grill and B.B.Bop.
The staff is nice and the place is clean, so I have no issues there, but I am pretty disappointed. Maybe it is just that I had different expectations from B.B.Bop. -

I wish I loved this place, but it's just about average. I've tried the Old School Bowl, which I had high hopes for since it comes with a fried egg on top (and I will literally eat ANYthing with a fried egg on it), but it was just alright. All of the flavors in the bowl just blended together; it's hard to describe what each ingredient tasted like or added to the dish. I tried a couple of their sauces, which ended up blending in with the rest of the flavors.
The next time I went I customized my order, thinking I could put together something with more distinct flavors than the Old School Bowl, but I was disappointed. I almost feel like a bowl full of their rice with just meat would be better than including all of the vegetables, which really overwhelm the bowl.
I would go back to this place for convenience, not craving. -
Review from Khoa N.
I really enjoyed BB Bop Rice Bowls. It's a healthy choice for lunch (depends on what you get of course). When we walked in the door and was studying the menu, the manager waved us over and gave us a very detailed description on how the process work. Choose your size (regular), choose your meat (spicy pork), choose your rice/noodles (brown rice), choose your veggies (corn, broccoli, mushroom), it also comes with cabbage and lettuce (if you want your veggies raw and not cooked, remember to let them know). I thought that after picking the ingredients I would get to choose a sauce that will be cooked with everything, but I was wrong. You do get different sauces but that comes separately and it's your job to decide what to do with it (mix or dip). They have a lot of sauces for you to try too btw.
Other than rice bowls you can also get banh mi (sandwiches), tacos, and soup. I think BB Bop Rice Bowls is a good deal, I only paid around $8 for my meal. -

JOY: I finished filling out another customer appreciation punch card and went in, excited to redeem my free bowl.
SHOCK: B.B.Bop is no longer doing the punch cards.
DISMAY: They would not accept my finished card, despite being a long time, loyal customer, and singing their praise with the coveted 5 star rating on yelp.
INSULT: Like salt to a cut, or lemon to my eye, they offered me a free soda as a consolation prize.
RESOLVE: As of this day, I will never eat at B.B.Bop again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I love this place. Great food, good price, healthy option that is still filling. Also, their Green Tea Lemonade rocks! The only recomendations I would have are: stay open on Sundays, offer delivery, and add some 'penache' to the place. Even Chipotle has a look and feel - but BB is kind of bland. That said, I'm glad they focused on the food instead of better furnishings - and they nailed that part.
In terms of fast/casual, the food is as good as it gets.
BTW- I also really like the enthusiasm of the guy at the counter (owner?). -

Vegan Coconut Curry sauce? YES.
BB Bop totally quenches the cravings for Koriente in Austin. The small portion is HUGE (I usually eat half and save the rest for dinner!) The sauce selection is AWESOME and ALL VEGAN! And the staff is absolutely amazing.
They offer rice or udon, tofu and veggies, raw or cooked. All bowls come with cabbage and lettuce and you pick and apply your own sauces. As I mentioned above, VEGAN COCONUT CURRY SAUCE. It is so good. I have to force myself to try something different every time I go! The peanut sauce is good, the teriyaki and red chili sauces are also amazing. And right there next to all your sauces is a giant gleaming bottle of Sriracha which gets mixed into every sauce I try.
I wish only that the veggie bowls came with a few more veggie options (the small gets you 3, the large gets you 5) and they had avocado! -

We are frequent diners here - the food is great and healthier than a lot of options in the area (I'm looking at you, Panda Express). Our first visit I was really looking forward to bibimbap, and my heart kind of sank when I realized that it was a fusion restaurant and not straight up Korean. However, I was quickly blown away with how good everything was. We try something different every time, but so far the noodles with pork and lots of spicy sauce is my favorite. So are the wings!
Customer service is excellent - even though this is a chain, management is extremely personable, and that's really what we love the most about the place. I really don't have anything bad to say, only to challenge them to do more. Are the containers they use earth friendly? If they're going for the local, personal vibe, why not play some local music? (I have to admit the music they play is really odd). Oh and give us more veggies!
This place is great as it is, but has so much potential to do more, mainly because management has a great attitude and wants to hear from customers - this is so rare! We speak with the owner frequently, and he's really open to making changes and listening to customers. I told him I wanted more soup, and a few weeks later there were 2 new soup options. This is what Dallas needs - very mom and pop and excellent food. -

There are only a few things I'll miss about our old office. One of them is having B.B.Bop a couple blocks away.
Ohh B.B.Bop, how I miss thee...
Anyway, enough lamenting. B.B.Bop Rice Bowls is located at the corner of Luna Rd. and Valley View Lane in Carrollton right next to a Race Track. It shares a fairly new shopping center with a Schlotzky's, a donut place, and now, an indoor dog park.
Yes, I love this place. I'll flat out admit it. I was for the most part a regular visitor up until we relocated (came so close to filling up my frequent visitor card!). When you first walk in, the overall layout is modeled after Chipotle. You immediately get in line where you let the guy know what kind of bowl you want (beef, chicken, pork, tofu, veggie or meatball), what kind of rice you want (white, brown or house rice), the type of veggies you want, and whether or not you want them sauteed. Once everything is prepared to your liking, they hand it to you in a black styrofoam container.
However, the fun part is just about to begin. Once you've paid, then there's the sauce bar. Oh, yes, I said sauce bar. They have 7 unique sauces you can drizzle over your bowl: a peanut sauce, a curry sauce, a black soy bean sauce, a spicy red pepper sauce, a sweet and sour chili sauce, a salsa, and a teriyaki sauce. They're all in large squirt bottles so you can mix and match and add as much or as little as you want.
What did I always get? The regular chicken bowl with brown rice (assorted sauteed veggies--it varied), no cabbage or lettuce. For the sauce I usually used a mix of the peanut sauce and the sweet and sour chili sauce.
Rice bowls aren't the only thing on their menu. They do offer some sandwiches and soups (I can't speak for any of those). More recently they added these spicy tacos, which were soooo good. I almost cried knowing it would be my first and last time seeing them. And they have 2 specialty teas available: a hibiscus tea limeade and a green tea mint lemonade (both are awesome).
The great news is they're expanding to another location on Greenville and Lovers Ln. (STILL not that close to me though). C'mon B.B.Bop, open one in Addison or north Dallas! -

This review is for the Pork Banh Mi ONLY --- or all of their sandwiches not the bowls -- I love this place and this is going to sting -
This is the third time I ordered the Banh Mi from here and all three times there has been issues.
One time the bread was old and the veggies were mushy. Another time the filling was flavorless and the bread was soggy. Today was a combination of the first two times - the bread was mushy - soaked in too much gravy/broth of the meat and the veggies had absolutely no crunch. The pork was almost non-existent. I could see it there, but it added no texture or taste!
If I wanted a bland soggy mess I would have gone next door at Quizno's. Serves me right I guess that I did not order a bowl.
Since their bowls are always so good - I figured the first two awful sandwiches were an aberration. I guess not. -
Review from Joseph B.
Based on the name of their business I thought I would be eating out of a bowl. I actually got my food in a black Styrofoam to-go box even when I was eating there.
If you like the Korean bibimbap, then you'll like this. Otherwise, you should still try it and see if you like it or not. The food is good and I like the options for their meats and veggies, but I just wish I could have more than 4 different veggies in my bowl/black box.
The guy at the front is really energetic about serving you and your food comes out pretty quick after they sauté everything together. -
Review from Jacob T.
When I see the name B.B.Bop, I think of the Hanson song Mmmbop. While the song is awful yet frustratingly catchy, I thought that the restaurant was great. Why? Because I don't exercise. That means that I need to find places to eat other than the artery-clogging chain restaurants along MacArthur and 635.
Other than my weekly taco fix at Tacqueria Cholula, I find it very difficult to motivate myself to find anything to eat in this area. Until today, when i decided to try BBBop. I was new and the guys behind the counter were very helpful in walking me through the process, which is pretty simple. As others have noted, pick rice, pick meat (or tofu), pick veggies, done. Then, choose among the 8 or so sauces that they have to add to your delicious bowl.
When I compare this to a mongolian grill or something similar, I think about how much MSG and sh*t I'm putting into my system at those places. Not so at BBBop. I was surprised at the general freshness of the vegetables.
I was more surprised when i checked out their website after lunch today. The exec chef at Victor Tango's is a partner here? Really? The website is also convenient because you can build your bowl online and get the nutrition info. Damn that's a lot of sodium though... Oh well, it was so much food that I only ate half the bowl and saved the leftovers.
Good food at a good value and I don't feel like a fat-ass eating-out here. I'll be back for sure. -

First time I tried Rice Bowl was today. I was impressed by some accepts and a little dissapointed by others.
Pro: guy behind the counter was great - really explained how to order and was enthusiastic about it (thinking he is the/an owner b/c his wife and son came from the kitchen when i was paying). Basically you order the rice, the meat, the veggies, and the sauce as was said earlier.
I had Jasmine rice (their house rice which is white mixed with sesame oil and jasmine oil -- may be wrong on that) - had a nice flavor. Ordered tofu but they were out so settle on chicken (I did go in after the rush hour lunch crowd) - great flavor in bite size pieces, very tender. My veggies were brocoli, carrots, zuchhini, mushrooms, cabbage, and lettuce. And there was a ton more that I could have chosen from. My sauces were a curry and a green, almost tomotilo sauce. Closed the lid on my plastic "bowl" and shook it up.
After getting back to the office and eating it, I wish I had added more sauce or told the guy to hold off on on so much rice. That being said, I couldn't finish it. It was a ton of food. Very fresh ingredients. The store was immaculent and clean and smelt great. And the enthusiam from the man behind the counter and the guy in the front of the house sweeping up made was great.
Great location for those working in Las Colinas, Farmers Branch/Carrollton Industrial & Office complex. Good price, great taste, great service. I'll be going back. -

This is a nice place to grab lunch. Pick your rice variety, meat, toppings, and your sauce. I like regular white with steak, assorted asian veggies, and teriyaki sauce.
They have good drinks, too. The lemonade/tea and hibiscus tea are great. -

Just tried this for lunch --- was not disappointed.
I'll confirm with the other reviews that the employees/owners were very enthusiastic about their little business. Very helpful figuring out what to try, especially when figuring out the sauces.
The bowls themselves taste fresh and feel very healthy to eat. I actually felt energized after my bowl.
I've decided I'm going back there for dinner. Too bad they're not open past 7pm or on weekends, but I suspect that will change when more businesses open up in the area (they're located in a very small shopping center in an undeveloped part of Luna Rd.)
I purchased the large and it was a lot of food. So good. -

You can get fresh healthy food in about the same amount of time it takes to get a burger and fries!
I've been a BB Bop customer ever since they were serving their rice bowls out of an actual bowl instead of the "black box" like another reviewer mentioned. I always get the chicken bowl with brown rice. The veggies are always fresh and the chicken is very tender.
One thing I have noticed and it might just be me, but it seems like their portions keep getting smaller?
BB Bop is definitely worth trying! Oh and they have great customer service too! -
Review from Albert L.
Upon walking into BB Bop Rice Bowls, you'll notice the counter with the food and a large set of tables. It's pretty simple, order either a rice bowl or a sandwich (bahn me). I recommend ordering a regular bowl as the large is massive.
The choices consists of tofu, pork, chicken or beef along with some veggies. The vietnamese sandwich isn't really that authentic but the bread is good. Back to the rice bowl, after you pay, you're given a choice of 8 different sauces. What you do with it is your own business. Some mesh well, and some don't.
The prices are reasonable. The quality of the food is okay, nothing special. The service is good, one of the owners asked us if we wanted refills on our tea drinks. I'll come back since it's closeby my work and healthier than some of the other choices out in the Irving area. -

I have eaten at B.B.Bop several times being that I work near this establishment and overall this restaurant is a good place to grab a quick lunch or light dinner. I have noticed some good changes since they've opened like they started sautéing the vegetables and the Jasmine Rice is pretty tasty.
The Prices are reasonable, the food was good and I went on a Wednesday so apparently you get a free small drink which was nice. -

I just went on advice from our mailman, and checking out the reviews on here. I was plesantly surprised! The food is very good and the service is extremely friendly, and fast!! They have a geat variety of sauces that are delicious, it took me forever to decide. It's really close to my work, so it adds the plus of being conveniently close. Not to mention, the prices are very resonable for the amount of food you get. A 'regular' is enough for two meals (well, for me anyway!).
I will definitely be returning! -
Review from Bryan S.
I like this place because of the originality, however, I hate just giving away four stars because of the authenticity and not focusing on the broad general perspective per say. So far I've tried out their rice bowl and its decent with the different variance of sauces you may assort onto your bowl and than there are the other few choices of noodles and tacos that they serve but overall that is the basis of this business a cup/bowl of rice with assorted veggies and different meats that you may but into the bowl!! An original Korean meal but nothing new on my culture of the Korean society!!

The concept is based on the Korean rice dish called Bibimbpap, but has tried to mainstream it to America by bringing Chipotle type qualities to it. For $6 or so, you get a plentiful amount of rice, 3 veggies, and a meat option - chicken, beef, or a stewed/pulled pork (smaller size). Unlike the Korean option, they offer 7 or 8 different type of Asian sauces - peanut, chili lime, Chinese black bean, the traditional red spicy Korean sauce, etc. Minus for a precooked chicken that stewed too long in the sauce to dry out. They would also probably benefit from recommending sauces to certain rice dishes - suffers a little from too many options - we aren't all chefs. Like everyone says, the owners are working there. A great value and healthy option - if only I lived/worked in Carrollton or somewhere close.

Excellent customer service. The b.b.bop guys were enthusiastic about their place and the food they served. I got a thorough rundown of the counter options, from the 3 types of rice, 3 meats (or 2 extra veggies), to the various veggie and sauce options. I ordered the spicy pulled pork with fresh spinach, steamed broc, and green onions (minus lettuce or cabbage offered), topped with their Chiang Mai Chili sauce. Their regular sized order was nearly too big of a lunch portion for me...I cleaned up every last bite. One thing to note: I did not get the signature plastic bowl that other reviewers have mentioned---they stuck my meal in a foam box. Clean and quiet place, more appealing to the fast-casual lunch crowd, not really a place I would linger in over dinner. Good food, casual digs, great price!

Review from David C.
this place is very unique as it is a rice bowl joint thats not fried rice...as mike said it is very clean, open and the ingredients are really fresh...everyone is nice and helpful...the sauces were excellent i had the seoul on fire and the peanut sauce one...the one thing i was confused at first was how do i mix my sauce in the bowl but i figured out you put the top back on and then shake it...the bowls are pretty cool since you can take it home and it would be cool to show that they are being recycled...overall its a great place and i want to know who painted those veggie pictures on the wall...they are huge and cool looking...ohh and id also like to see diced tomatoes on the menu :)

I'm always interested in trying new and unique places. This one was definitely new and unique, so 5 stars for the effort. When I walked in, there were two things I noticed. 1. The cleanliness of the place. 2. The friendly man behind the counter who explained to us how the orders were supposed to go down. Basically, you choose your rice, your meat, your veggies and your sauce and mix them all up in a bowl. The food was pretty good and the amount of sauces and veggies to choose from was more than ample. The portions are also plenty for most normal humans. I had two complaints. 1. The lack of meat in the bowl. They load it with rice and veggies, but are pretty stingy with the meat. 2. These bowls that they throw away are pretty big and there are lots of them, so it would be nice to see some kind of recycling effort. What can I say? I'm a dreamer and want to save the world. Still, it's worth a try or two.
