The BEST pizza and beer place in town.
My "brother" from Germany insist on coming to this place every time we're in town. It's that good- even over the pizzas he got in New York, Chicago, etc...
It's a really cute divey place. I had many good times in that place. Great for families or a sport-watching night out with the boys.
Prices are reasonable and you can't complain about the amazing selection of beers they have! It's a self-serve place where you pay after you're done eating and drinking. -

I love technology. We are returning from a day trip to Corpus Christi. Yelped this morning to check out our lunch options and decided on B & J Pizza. Reviews looked good and that's usually a safe bet.
My wife wanted to take something and eat on the beach near the USS Lexington. Plus our new 2 month old dog Bear was getting his first glimpse of the ocean. We both got vegetarian subs. I had lettuce, onions and jalapeños on sourdough with American cheese. My wife had these and olives and tomatoes with American on white. I had requested some mayo and Frank's red hot sauce on the side. My wife had the Balsamic Vinaigrette.
We ordered and waited over 25 perplexing minutes. The pizza guy was busy making their highly reviewed pizzas and we felt like we had offended them by ordering subs :-( They would not even let us pay till we got the food. We finally got it, paid and headed out.
We were still wondering about why it took so long as we got our subs out of the Styrofoam containers. That's when we saw the foil wrapped sandwiches, felt the heat as we gently took out the subs. They were 5 inch loaves, baked a perfect shade of brown. As we pried open the steaming hot sub to adjust the condiments, we saw and smelled the grilled onions. The jalapeños were abundant and we literally excavated them from the gooey cheese.
Then we took our first bite and knew right away that we had a winner! The frustration of waiting so long for our lunch disappeared. In fact, now we knew that every bite was worth the wait. And at $5.83 each we could not ask for better value. We will surely return to B and J Pizza. -

Love the selection of beers to go with that great pizza, love watching them toss the dough around to work it into shape all handmade stuff here. had the 14 inch thin crust double pepperoni double mushroom with easy sauce with a couple of draft beers.

Been here a few times while traveling on business, and have had mixed luck. I like the concept, pizza and beer is a hard thing to mess up, and really, there is no where else in town.
However, I've never had what I would call top notch service here, and this last time, the service was just downright bad. Inattentive bartender who is more concerned with talking with his friends than taking orders, coupled with a smart ass order taker on the pizza side has probably sealed the deal for me not coming back here.
Place seems popular with the locals, and the beer selection is quite good, while the prices might be a bit high, but maybe not for the region. Maybe I need to be a regular to get decent service. A shame, I would frequent this place otherwise. -

This was my second visit to B&J's and I think I enjoyed it more than my first, if that's possible.
Excellent pizza paired with tender and juicy wings and a wide and tasty selection of craft brews make me happy. On both occasions I ordered the Tuscan Chicken pizza and it leaves nothing to be desired. I was surprised to come across Saint Arnold's Divine Reserve #10 months after it's release.
My favorite part besides everything I've mentioned and Kyle the super knowledgeable home-brewer behind the counter, is the fact that they keep little notebooks in which the patrons keep track of all of the craft brews tasted in their establishment. I will never visit Corpus without a visit to B&J's. -

We came here while in Corpus for a quick beach vacation. The concept of a dive-joint pizza place but with a "wall-o-beer-fridge" with beers from all over the world blew me away! No ordering the beer - just go and pick out what you want, sit down and sip away while your pizza order cooks.
Pizza was damn good...it's floppy when you pick up a slice but don't panic...the crust is nicely crispy when you bite into it and it retains that crispiness well into your meal as you devour the last few slices.
I can't get over all the beers of the world - why this concept of a no frills but high-quality beer & pizza selection isn't seen in more places around Texas is beyond me. -

I have been here several times on visits to Corpus to see my folks. Last night was similar to other trips out here. This place is AWESOME!
The folks behind the counter are always laid back and cool. We got a 16" pizza with sausage and garlic, then got our peppercinis on the side - cold and crisp. After you order, you go back to the great bar area and get one of their amazing tap beers. Beer snob? Apply here. They have an endless selection of bottled and draft - including Chimay. WOW! The parents and I got our cold beers and sat down. Shortly, our hot, cheesy pizza came on out. This pizza is good. It's thinner crusted. The toppings are always fresh and amazing. I love eating it. The salads here are also cold and crisp. Everything is served at the right temperature and is surprisingly tasty. They built a newer location close to where my folkds live, but we still take the trek out to the old location. There's just something about this place we will always love. -

I visited this place on my trip to Corpus. Walking in this place looks like a dump but on the inside is a great beer selection. One part of the building is where you order the pizza and can pick beer out of a cooler. I saw Stone, Real Brewing, Lagunitas, St. Arnolds and many other beers we don't have in Louisiana. In the other side of the building is the bar and tables where you can eat your pizza. I went up to the bar and saw some Lagunitas Gnarly Wine on tap and said I'd like to try some and he poured some for me to taste. Very Cool and unexpected. I then asked for 2 beers of that and ask for them in a non frozen glass and both bartenders were more than happy to help. PLUS all draft beers that night were $2 dollars. Pizza came and was great and you can take bottles from the other side and bring them over to drink and eat. Awesome place to go get some great beer and good pizza!

I was in Corpus recently for my high school's 20 year reunion, and ate at B & J. The owner is a friend of mine from high school and he treated me and my party to free food. How could I not give them five stars?
Oh, but the pizza was good! I wish there was a B & J in Austin. All the toppings were fresh, which is great. I'd eat there more if I didn't live 200 miles away. -

Gotta be honest. Pizza is a passion for me, I try and eat pizza from every place I can. And B & J's is now one of my favorites. I ordered the Jack's Special upon recommendation of the staff, and am pleased as punch with it.
They're clearly known for their laid back style. They have a wall of coolers with beer, and you just grab what you want as you go, pay at the end. Makes it a fun place to chill out at.
Would have liked a variety of crust options, rather than just hand tossed. Handtossed was delicious, but I'm a big thin crust fan. -

Friends told me about their honor system on bottle caps when you get the beer out the fridge I thought that was awesome and they have a nice selection of bottles. I love the beer club apparently they have a book with club memebers names and all the different beers they have tried. The pizza is good all different selections. The atmosphere is casual great for friend get togethers or bringing the kids. I like all the beer advertisements covering the walls. Lots of fun! Def try it out when you are in Corpus.

Good pizza, family friendly. Try it for the beer selections -- pick your own from their giant wall of coolers and pay on the honor system. What a cool throw back to a simpler time. It's nice to see a local establishment still have the guts to treat their customers right.

After having a really bad experience w/a downtown seafood restaurant (see my other yelp review on Corpus), my family decided to try out B&J Pizza after seeing many positive Yelp reviews. We visited the B&J right off the SPID past Airline. It was nothing to look out from the inside but what made my eyes tear up was the beer selection. I saw about 5 coolers filled w/all sorts of beer and I thought, ok, now here's a pizza place. I actually was in so much awe of the beer, I just stood there dumbfounded for a few min. I finally settled on a beer and then we ordered a 16" 1/2 pepperoni/mushroom pizza and 1/2 cheese to split w/our kids. It was really good, so good, I wished I had ordered the 18" pizza. We wound up ordering some cheese bread for our kiddos who were also still hungry and then I noticed they also had hot wings so I was kicking myself for not getting an order of wings too. We just sat, enjoyed our beer, and savored what was a great beer/pizza experience. Definitely put this on your list if you are going to be in Corpus.
