I always enjoy my trips to B&G Liquor. The guys that work there are super nice, and more often than not there's an eccentric cussing and yelling in the aisles who turns out to be a regular, or one of their friends (one day I thought they were being robbed, but he might have just wanted a cigarette.) They sell Broke Ass Red Wine for $4.50 a bottle and have a few other inexpensive bottles that I like as well. Overall I would not give them any kudos for the wine selection, but you can get yer booze and beer there too and I've never left disappointed. It's also important to note that if the beer you're looking for isn't on the floor, one of them will yell "Hey, what is it you're looking for? I'll find it for you" and then disappear into the big cooler, emerging victorious a minute later.
My boyfriend asked me why I went there one night when Sentyrz (which is closer) was still open. I told him that they had a 10% off wine sale going on, so I thought I may as well go back and take advantage. Well, apparently he had been in twice already that week (I swear we aren't as alcoholic as we seem) and no one had offered him a discount. I guess it's a gender specific type of thing...
Regardless, I like these guys and if they want to give me 10% off I'm totally going to go for it. I also like that they try to sell me this $250 bottle of wine that's behind the counter every other time I'm there, even though the bottles that I'm checking out with are $4.50 a piece. They are friendly, funny, and willing to help. Nice!Listed in: My Neighborhood
