Had some work to be done on an old F150.
Basically, simple job of putting a bypass pulley. The mechanics did it then got lazy and just left the old a/c lines dangling and banging all over the place.
The result? the new belt they just put in shred to pieces.
That's crappy automotive repair for you. They probably wanted me to bring the truck back so they can fix it... Huh NO, took it to the Ford dealership and had it fix and they did the job right.
Don't ever bring your car/truck/bicycle to them, they will try to rip you off and "fix" it.
