Azura Cellars and Gallery produces exceptional varietals and offers complimentary tastings throughout the summer. The Gallery features world class fine art created by winemakers, sailors and artists Ty and Helen Gillespie. The winery offers exceptional views of the North Fork Valley and the West Elk mountains beyond. Our wine by the glass and cheese board are the perfect compliment to a leisurely afternoon on our terrace.

The winery is also available for weddings and special events.

History

Established in 2005

The name "Azura" was the name of our 38' sailboat that carried us safely on our 7 year circumnavigation. It only seemed appropriate to name the gallery/winery after the  venerable craft when we began our new venture.

We produce a small amount of handcrafted wine produced from local grapes sourced from the Grand Valley. We only distribute through sales at the Tasting Room/Gallery. The tasting room/gallery is open from Memorial Day until the end of October- 11 to 6.

Meet the Business Owner: TY G.

My wife, Helen, and I sailed around the world on our 38' sailboat, the "Azura" before moving to the Vail Valley. After 13 years there we discovered wonderful Paonia. We moved here to build a large studio and gallery. The spectacular land we purchased happens to be on a road with 3 other wineries. It only made sense to expand our home winemaking interest to compliment our art efforts. We are dedicated to making small amounts of the best wine our efforts and nature allow. Our art work is shown in galleries in Vail and Denver. Our most recent commission was for art in the Four Seasons in Denver.
