Elk Grove, CA
I've never came here for the club portion, but from what I understand at the moment it's been shut down anyway because their liquor license has been suspended.
The location is kind of hard to spot because there isn't really a sign for the place. And you have to enter these big metal gates before you actually get in. I almost missed the place if it wasn't for a small standing floor sign with the menu out front.
I came here for dinner with my friends and I didn't know it was an all you can eat sushi place. If I had known I may not have snacked beforehand. But everything was made to order which I thought was nice. With a group of five people, we were able to order quite a variety of different rolls to try out. And probably ate a lot more than we should have in the process.
But overall, it was a good experience. Costs a bit more then fuji's but the quality was a bit better. Although no unlimited sashimi, you have to pay extra for that. And the atmosphere is definitely more fancy. -

Been here three times now for lunch...I don't know nothin' 'bout the nighttime scene. The sushi is kind of weird, tho. Everything is made to order (a plus), fresh (BIG plus), and it really is AYCE (a plus if you're into quantity). The shari, on the other hand, is bland and tastes like it has almost no seasoning at all (huge minus). Yeah, I know...whattaya want for 13 bucks, right? I guess if I had to choose between fresh fish/bland rice or iffy fish/tasty rice, I'd go with the former, but why can't I have fresh fish AND tasty rice? I mean, really....skimping on VINEGAR?
I'll probably go back, but I have to be in the mood for quantity over quality. -
Review from Paul J.
Ok.... not bad but loads of room for improvement! I came here on Saturday to party with some friends. We had VIP on lock this night so it was free.99. Good start! We get through the VIP line no problems but then we get frisked to go into the club. A TSA pat down to go into the club!??? Um Mix doesn't do that! As a matter of fact I have never been frisked to get into a Vegas club either. I don't mind getting groped but I was kind of hoping it would be from an attractive, (babelicious yea that's my word ) woman. At least 2 cop cars out front um what kind of place is this? Anyway not feeling the whole TSA pat down.
Now the place is not bad but a major remodel is in order. The VIP area downstairs is nice but very narrow. The other dance room near the entrance was pretty nice. The entrance and exit area are not well defined and looks like a cage. Not inviting at all.
The service was pretty good the wait staff kept coming by our booth to check on us which was cool. Now to compete with the Park, Mix in that same area Azukar falls well short and gets exposed on all fronts of what a club should look and feel like. It doesn't have that vibe! Also They have a no IN and OUT policy which I found out the hard way. I told the security guy I was leaving and I would be back. The fact that I couldn't get back in was never even spoken to me at all.
Well safe to say I probably will party elsewhere! Until this place gets a makeover or change their format! I will not return here. -

Loud, sweat, and fear...
I came here for my friends B-day party.
Loud: Downstairs in our VIP booth the music was so loud everyone had to literally yell just to talk to each other. I heard they were going to move or re-model the place. Hint, Hint nows your chance to make the booths better...
Sweat: I went upstairs to check out the latin music playing and they must have wanted everyone to experience how the weather is in South America because it was ridiculously hot. The room was packed, but it was so hot and humid I decided to go back downstairs where it was cooler.
Fear: First off, I truly understand about security, but these guys looked at me as if I just got out of jail...didnt feel too secure about that, and that was just to get in. Some guys in our group told the door security they would come back and was told ok. Come to find out when they returned, they were not allowed back in...all cool points out the window...
Downstairs at our VIP booth, the workers and mostly security used the VIP space to travel back and forth so there was so much traffic that you couldn't enjoy being there in the club without having to move out of the way for someone. The waitress was click to clean up the table and we had to remind her about the Champagne for the group...
Overall, its ok. I have been to way better, more comfortable, and more enjoyable clubs... -

I really like Azugar. Fish is always fresh and delicious. Staff are always nice... Sometimes I just want to gorge myself on sushi, and I come here.... just as good as mikiuni or tamaya AND I feel like I get my moneys worth.

The sushi here is decent and at night it turns into a club.

Sacramento, CA
This place is pimp. Again I'm not a bar/club guy so I may be impressed by little things but hey...
Did a show here, wearing jeans, T-shirt, Lakai's and had me skateboard with me...
Part of the biggest reason I don't go out, is because I don't (with finger quotations) dress up. So even though it was urban line that was being shown (shout out to Shine Clothing) I got to get into a club wearing my normal clothing. Amazing to me, knowing that had I not been modeling that night, they might've never let me near the place.
I was there for rehearsal the night before so I met the manager and the owners, suave individuals I must say...
They made sure the performers were treated great, VIP, bottle service, all the things you can do to make someone comfortable.
Upstairs and downstairs are fantastic and clean. Get's kinda sweaty on the dance floor but that's what it's all about right.
When I start wearing grown up clothes, I'll come here anytime... -
Review from Anna T.
Eh, this place is okay. My friends and I were invited to a private party downstairs, which by itself was a lot of fun, but there was nothing spectacular about the service, drinks, atmosphere, etc. The music was plenty loud and booming on both floors, and there was definitely a ton of dancing (mainly just grinding upstairs, though).
I didn't interact with the bartenders upstairs, but the ones downstairs were friendly and accommodating. The party had cake but my friends and I showed up a few hours after they had served it so all the plates and forks and knives were put away already, but after my friend asked one of the bartenders to bring them back out, he politely obliged.
Note: the downstairs bathroom is a lot nicer and cleaner looking than the one upstairs, so if you're able, head down there to do your business. -

This place is by far the oddest dining/entertainment establishment: Sushi restaurant by day, latino club by night. The one time I went to the club, i wasnt impressed, and apparently the club has even shut down recently. But the sushi place is still going strong. Where else can you get all-you-can-eat, made-when-you-order sushi for $16?! Well, $16 for lunch, $21 for dinner. But they have quite the selection on both menus, and even include appetizers (like gyoza and edemame), nigiri, and desserts in the all-you-can-eat selections. Just make sure to ask for your check early if you're in a hurry! Oh and for the avocado lovers out there: you gotta have the sunflower roll!

Review from Cassy H.
I've been here twice and both times had good times (but good times due to my company, not b/c this place was so amazing and blew my mind away).
So, why 3 stars? Well, the place is overall alright. You can add yourself to the guest list and enter without cover before 11pm. So, make sure to do that... it's not worth it to pay the cover. Expect to wait in line if you decide to show up like 15 minutes before 11 pm... which is what happened to my group and me. You can wear/bring your jacket; there's coat check. I think it costs you $3.
Inside, it has an upstairs and downstairs dance floor. I liked the music downstairs when my group went last weekend. The drinks were alright, typically priced. The bartender upstairs was pretty nice, but being topless and good looking probably helped.
Anyway, I feel like there were a number of creepy guys looking to dance with you.. you think you'd be flattered, but no (at least not for me). So, yeah... no more comments. :o) Go to SF for nicer clubs. -

Yuck! The guy working the door is a jerk. He needs to learn how to talk to people. It's not my fault you check ids for a living.
As for the club, we had a VIP booth downstairs. I was not feeling the music but I was with my girls, so I had a good time. Azukar is not somewhere where I'd like to spend my weekends on a regular basis. -

Cameron Park, CA
$15 flat-rate parking fee (worth it, there are attendants.)
$15 entrance.
$3 per coat check.
Drinks, expensive. Bartender was very quick, especially when you've got cash in the air!
Checked out Azukar this past Saturday. The weather was not in our favor... pouring rain. Azukar was prepared. They had A few instant canopies up, line organized and kept dry. We weren't in line long at all. The line guy was enforcing dress code before falling in line. I thought this was efficient since it was raining. Who wants to stand out there, wet and cold! Parking was a breeze. Costly, but again, the weather. Cute shoes, wet ground. You do the math!
Got in pretty quickly, checked in the coat and headed to the bar. The dance floor was packed! The place was packed! Wall to wall. There was enough room to lightly squeeze through the crowd. The music was fun, but I didn't understand the lyrics. The majority of the patrons were Mexican-Spanish descent. That was the only observation I had, but it sure made a fun night better! Everyone was dancing away. My drink fell out of my hand (so is the story I will tell). No, really..., I was jumping around and the drink caught my husband's elbow. Liquor and glass on the dance floor. They should serve drinks in acrylic stuff! Ha-ha!
Azukar has 2 dance floors from what I could see, but the other room is for VIP folks. I'm assuming this due to the bouncer that stood at the entry way. People were friendly and generally were out to have a good time. I danced til my feet gave up.
I'll go here again, but put my name on the guest list so I don't pay for entrance. -
Review from Sarah P.
This venue was part of my last minute, spontaneous trip to Sacramento last weekend. I was recommended by a friend who goes to Sac State to check this place out because it was a two-story venue with a good variety of people.
BUT SHE WAS WRONG, maybe it was just the day that we went but I could have sworn to you, more than 90% of the people here were Mexican. I mean, I don't have anything against them but I was just a little shocked to feel so out of my element, I almost felt like we didn't belong there..
The top floor played Spanish music all night long and the bottom level played the usual Top 40.
Nonetheless, my friend and I had a great time here but couldn't wait to leave to check out the next venue. It's a really spacious place & I hear their food when this place is normally a restaurant during the day but I have yet to try!
They have great promotional deals on Twitter & text messages, be sure to check out their website to find out how you can score cheaper drinks & other freebies! -

Ugh. What a hole.
My work had a birthday/going away party here on a Friday night and even the women I work with who frequent dance clubs in far worse areas of Norcal felt like an hour TOPS was worth what was paid for VIP. Why is everyone giving this low-class pick-up joint so many stars?Listed in: North State Must Haves

Review from James L.
The drinks are a bit overpriced here... Actually, most of the drinks I ordered required some explaining which was a bit annoying because I just wanted a drink.
There are two levels... first floor had Latin music while the bottom floor had hip hop. The music that night (for hip hop) was really meh in general. They have so much more potential than that. I would have preferred dancing to the entrance room's songs which was more like top40 music.
The ventilation throughout the place wasn't too bad. Not a fan of the area in general, felt like I was constantly in danger. -

Two Words: Made Fresh :)
This is not your run of the mill all you can eat joints. Everything is made fresh right after you order it. Nothing has been sitting out, no food was kept warm by heat lamps...FRESH FRESH FRESH!!!
$12.99 for all you can eat Lunch. (if you don't know me by now, I LOVE all you can eat joints...can't stop, won't stop eating) $19.99 for the all you can eat dinner.
After receiving our Dior make overs at Macy's Downtown, my GF and I decided to go to lunch since neither of us had anything to eat the whole day and it was already noon and we both didn't have to be at work until 1:30pm.
This place is amazing! Customer service was great. There were at least three people taking our orders or handing us our food. We tried four different roles at first. Each role had about 4 pieces; which is nice because you can't get full off of one roll. You can still taste other things on the menu. We basically tried all the rolls on the menu and a couple of Nigri items (2 nigiri per order). We didn't have to wait too long for our orders. For dessert we had sesame balls and sweet donuts. They were hot when they came out. Literally straight from the fryer.. that's how fresh everything was. I'll definitely be back again! -

916-444-8450 is the number to Azukar Lounge..or at least their lost and found. How do I know? I lost my camera battery, my memory card, some cash, my mac lipglass, my fave chapstick, and some pantyliners. Hahah. I'm mostly disappointed about my memory card, wahhhh! Take the battery, take the camera, but not the memory card!!!
Anyway, to add on to my previous reviews...their shots are HUGE!!!!! It's what led to the loss of my beloved memory card! And apparently they've changed the decor? Looks a lot brighter and more colorful. Not sure though, night was a blur. Where did the time go? Did they close early?! =P2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Ya know a club is sketch when:
- Tha ladies get in free (at least on the evening I went)
- You hear comments such as "I should have dressed like a hooker, I feel outta place".
- The boys have to pay a cover, unless they're on the list (luckily, they gave the old man a refund)
- The boys get frisked, within an inch of being molested, before they can enter
- There's a police car parked right in front of the entrance
- Oh, at least 4 po-po are on hand, to take care of those who get outta hand.
.... And, all of this was before 10pm, on a Friday night. We only stayed a good 15 - 20 minutes; just enough time for the old man to get frisked, get my purse searched, see lots of cleavage, say "hi" and buy the Birthday girl a shot or two, or three. I guess the more shots you take, the better... that way, the cops can come to your rescue faster.
Maybe I'm just a dive bar kinda gal? Maybe I'm just getting old? I surely don't want to pay a cover to grace this place with my presence.
Don't think I'll be coming back here... next birthday person that has a party here will be getting a card and an invite to a little less sketchier establishmentListed in: Love-Hate Relationships, Just Ketchup-on-a-Hot Dog,…, Mexi-Can't

This place was over crowded, overrated, no thanks!
Music: the same thing they play over and over on your local top 40 stations, no thanks, sticky floors.
Bartenders: we walk up to the first bar; right by the entrance, waiting patiently; one bartender, were moving closer, yes we are at the bar it's our turn, wait didn't they just arrive to the bar and we have been standing her for like 20.69 minutes, OK, wave him done, he does not acknowledge us, again, passes up by again, again, WTF!!!! OK, finally it's our turn, service o stars!!!
Oh mind I mentioned I was wearing a black mini dress and I was overdressed, if you come here, come in your bra and panties and you will fit right in!
I would not waste my time going here again I think I only survived about 25 minutes in that place waste of $30.00 -

Went there last night with the same people and of course we had a booth again! Don't you just love VIP treatment?!?
We sat at our booth and in mere minutes they brought us our bottles of Grey Goose and Patron, oh and don't forget the buckets of Beer!
These people here make sure when you spend that kind of money you get the right treatment and your moneys worth!
I love this place and will be coming back soon! Let me know if you care to join!Listed in: Nightlife

I first visited Azucar on a Friday night and expected, trusting a friend's recommendation, some authentic Mexican food. Authentic, you know, not the kind that tastes the same plate to plate but is shaped differently.
Friday night, my friend was right. I'm enjoying enchiladas that compete for first rank against with my grandmother's cooking and a tequila selection to savor when I heard the band warming up.
Oh, that band... not unfamiliar, but absolutely refreshing. Mariachi, full force. Aside from family weddings, it's not often I come across Mariachi bands randomly playing in hip, modern nightclubs. And that I would find one in Midtown Sac and not in Southern California was that much more surprising.
Now, I'm fourth generation Californian, but regardless of my very American upbringing, there is something comforting, grounding and absolutely moving found in the notes and rhythms of traditional Mexican folk music... something intangible, that says, "home". -

Came VIP, went through the super short line and was escorted to the birthday girl's booth. Booth was nice, clean and new looking. Comfortable and big enough for maybe 10 people.
The service was pretty good, someone was always dropping by to pick up dirty glasses and refill the ice.
Loved the layout, cool lights from IKEA and how the whole area was just a little raised over the dance floor.
I didn't try any of the drinks from the bar, so I'm not sure if they were strong or not.
Music was decent, and it was nice to have a mini flat screen in view from any booth (even if it was looping pole dancers haha). The music started to get a lil trancie near 1am....
The bathroom was clean enough, never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Security was pretty tight near the bathroom and VIP section in general so it felt pretty safe.
Environment was cool, don't know how it was upstairs... but I'd definitely come here again! Oh, supposedly for the two VIP booths we had plus drinks it was only around $500... pretty good considering! I mean, just one booth like that would probably be in the $1000 in Vegas... but of course you're paying for the atmosphere too.
Still would recommend this to a friend. -

This place gets 4 stars ONLY because we didn't have to pay or wait in the longgggg line. Otherwise, it would be 3 stars.
I came here last night around 1130PM (on a Friday night) with 2 of my girlfriends & it was PACKED. The basement was overcrowded and stuffy, but the bar was relatively easy to get to. The bartender was awesome - he poured REALLY deep tequila shots (keep in mind we were 3 girls...).
I would recommend staying on the ground level floor behind the waterfall. There was a lot more space on the dance-floor and it wasn't too hot.
The promoters do a good job in getting people through the door (Zokku should learn). Jason Derulo performed here last night (song - Whatcha Say). We had no idea, so this was a pleasant surprise.
The crowd: standard hip-hop crowd, with a few "cougars" here and there. -

Went here last night with some friends, and had an awesome time. The line was long when we first rolled up, but it moves pretty fast. They had a guy at the door with a hand held metal detector that made me take everything out of my pockets which was kind of annoying, but it wasn't that big of a deal.
It was PACKED inside, and although we mostly just stayed on the dance floor, the place looked pretty big compared to a lot of the clubs in sac. All the music was in Spanish (from what I can remember), and the girls there were HOT. If you like Latin girls, this is the spot. The drinks were good too, but expensive as hell. I ended up with a tab of like $45, but the bar tending service was good though....there were plenty of people swarming the bar, but I never had to wait for more than a moment to get a drink, which seems to be a rarity at bars these days.
Overall, i'd definitely come back here again. If you don't mind Mexican music, expensive drinks and hand held metal detectors check this spot out...it was worth it for me. -

Nightlife Review:
My friends and I use to come here more often. Now, we haven't looked at this place. The place is pretty small. There are three bars, one in the front, one at the end, and one at the side. The club is okay but not the greatest. The Staff is nice at times; but they can be mean. They normally have two dancers on the blocks. The thing that makes me dislike this place is the bartenders ripping off my drunk friends. Story: Friend goes to the bar, gives the bartender $20 for a ~$7 drink. Bartender gives $3 back. Friend only had $20s on him because he got it from the bank. Bartender argues back and forth with my friend. That irks me... I haven't been there since.. I think its because every time we have been there, there's always something that happens... -

It was aite.
likes:
they have an Hemnes mirror from IKEA
friday night guest list b4 10:30
they book some good djs (like kid millionaire a.k.a. steve aoki)
smokers front lounge area is sweet and relaxing and protected from the elements
the bouncers at the door are really nice and actually enforce the no line jumping rule
gripes:
too many sweaty people, not enough room
too many guys not enough girlies
wait times at the bar are ridiculous
bathrooms were so bright (and usually someone is puking on the floor)
other than that it's a coo' little place to go to spice things up if you get tired of your other club. -

Not bad.
Ladies free before 11pm on a lot of nights is pretty cool. $15 otherwise is a little high for this place. VIP areas spacious and prices are reasonable. Music ws a little hard for my taste; they played lots of rap and hard core hip hop songs, but I won't hate on that since the crowd seemed to enjoy it. And I will forgive them for playing Usher's "yeah" and 50 Cent "in da club" for that same reason. I did like all the tv screens they had, which showed videos of all the songs. Gave me something to watch when I wasn't interested in the music.
Oh..but worst bartender ever!! He was so slow and kept running out of liquor, causing him to disappear to nowhere! Lame. First place i ever saw use generic redbull. If they want to make more moneys they should hire more/better people to get people their drinks faster. And gogo dancers need improvement and height.
Also came again on a separate night and was annoyed by a ridiculously strict dress code, which is lame when you consider the look of this place.
Mixed feelings...but I did have fun and appreciated the diverse crowd. -

2 stars only because the music is GREAT. But that's where it ends... at the music.
So this place is jam packed on the weekends. It's been open for awhile, and I finally had a chance to make it here (for a friend's bday, no less).
Ambiance: There's 2 floors. Level floor and a basement. The level floor is designed very well, as well as the basement. It's larger than it looks from the outside, and the ventilation is pretty awesome (you know it's good when it's cold, even when the place is packed!).
Crowd: Mostly Asians, Hispanics and African Americans. My friends and I had a booth downstairs, but it was GHETTO. There is a stripper pole down there, and swear to you, every person tried to take it for a spin. I'm all about having a good time, but it got to a point where it was as if the place was being taken over by retired strippers.
I would never come back here again on a voluntary basis..... -

3 1/2 stars
Came here on a Friday night, bummed that we had to pay a bunch for parking, but it was right next to the place, for girls that's always good, especially when you consider how sore your feet will be at the end of the night. The line seemed long, but it moved surprisingly fast, at least in comparison to Sabor in SJ it moved quite quickly. The guy in the guest list line had told us we were in the wrong line and we needed to go around. The other "security" guy then told us we needed to get back in the line we were in, ok already this is starting off bad. The first guy told us he would take us next...pheww!!! No waiting in line. He kept saying that ladies were free before 11, but it was 11:10, but he still stamped us and we got info for free!! Score!!!!
The guy in line in front of us offered to buy us drinks, and he wasn't a total creep and wanted to hang out after he had bought us drinks..
Music was decent, really diverse, and in general a good atmosphere. Of course with any club it came with the requisite creepy guys but they all got the hint when we go told them we weren't interested. Another bonus, when it was closing time, I didn't feel like I was being herded out like cattle, always a plus! Would definitely come back. -

I went here with some friends after a friends bridal shower. The only good thing was that we were on the guest list so that we didn't have to wait in line at all and when we did go, it was ladies get in free as long as it was before 11 p.m.
But over all, this place sucked. The music wasn't very good at all and we all wanted to dance and have fun, but not at the expense of bad music and way over priced drinks. We had ordered 3 drinks and payed over $50 for them and they weren't anything special or let alone top shelf liquor.
With all that set aside, my friends and I finished our drinks and left within 45 minutes within even getting in the door. -

This is a review for Azukar and Splash Bar: I will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint for their discriminatory dress code. The guards basically pick their policies at random and if you aren't one of their groupies or if they're in a bad mood that night, then you can't get in. They pretty much make up the policies as they go, and if you ask to speak to the manager, you get the run around - "His name is Al..I don't know his last name." Really?? If you ask for the bar's contact information, they play dumb. I'm fed up with being turned away for wearing something like leggings, and then they let in 5 girls who are wearing the same thing.
They might not let you in if you're wearing jeans, flats, "casual" looking tops..basically you need to dress like a hooker..I've only had problems with one security guard, ELI ORTA IS HIS NAME! he's short, kinda chunky, Mexican or Latino..he's the main one who discriminates with the dress code.
DJ DNA who plays on Saturdays is a horrible mixer
for some reason people constantly walk back and forth so it makes it hard to dance sometimes
as an upscale lounge/club, but the new crowd is far from that! -
Review from Pia V.
This place is ok. They hold the line for a while, which can always be a bit irritating, but whatever. There is a dress code and cover -- varies from night to night. There is one long main bar and one shorter bar on the back wall -- and it is hard to get drinks from either one.
I've gotten a table once at this club and it seems like if you have a table then all of the above go away. No waiting in line, no hassle about dress code, and never waiting in line for drinks. Just walk in, dance, and drink.
So unless your getting a table you might be better off somewhere else.
[I'll update this if I ever decide to go back to check out the food.] -

For as many times I've been to this place, I'm very surprised that I have yet to write it a review. This review will not be for the restaurant but for the night club. If you want other restaurants choices, you can go to Mikuni's across the street, or PF Changs (if you know, don't go there ever...so not Asian food).
This venue is cool. The decor is good for Sacramento and when its finally build the 2nd floor should look nice. But remember that this place is mainly a restaurant so the dance floor reflects it, but the people who go here to party dance their drunken asses off and don't care where they dance. Expect to hang out in the front if you want less of a crown and easy access to a bar.
Go here on a Friday simply because the music is mixed and Hiphop (yes only top 40's) but be warned that it is simply over crowded depending on the Friday you go. It can be fun and chill, but be warned the crown can be a little older, yes you can find "cougars" here.
I've been here on a Saturday a few times, which is the Spanish music or "Latin" night and it has been fun. I am not one to be close minded to different places and different crowds, simply because an all "Asian" crowd can be on my last nerve. This night is super packed and yes you might feel a little out of placed if you cannot speak Spanish or do not like Spanish music ( yes this can mean Bandera)
Bars: Play it smart and go to the front bar near the entrance. The bartenders there tend to be easier to get to and friendlier cause people are more there to chill. The other bartenders are cool and ok to get to, just remember not to be in a rush...this is one packed venue. -

NOT impressed with this place at all. I thought this was a lounge, aren't all bars and lounges cover free? My guy friend was actually on the guest list, but they told him they couldn't find his name and he ended up paying full cover. -_-
When I walked into the place, I was reminded of my days going clubbing in Tijuana. It's sad to see a "lounge" in Sac resemble a club in TJ. =( You're allowed to wear jeans here?!?! I wasn't digging the crowd either. Place and people were so not my type.
On a more positive note, best thing about this place would be their drinks. They weren't stingy with the alcohol or flavor.
Not ever coming back here again... -

We came here on a Friday and paid the $15 cover and seen the tiny little club. We were downstairs and most of the people were plastered. Most of the guys had T-shirts and jeans. Security didn't really do much about that even though they were tripping over themselves. The place looked like Ebony night considering all the guys that were in there.
Last call was at 1am and we moved got kicked out of the downstairs area at 1:30. We ended up staying upstairs for a minute, because even they were playing their last song at that point. Everyone was kicked out of the club by 1:45am. -

I think this place is fun. It looks ghetto outside but inside is quite spacious with an upstairs, a downstairs and a foyer area.

We didn't come here for the after hours dancing- but rather for the food.
The menu states that Azukar is a fusion of Mexican and Peruvian. I would have to say that the food is definitely VERY authentic Peruvian. Since coming here, I hadn't found a restaurant in the states that made Ceviche that tasted near identical to the dish in Peru. I also ordered the Aji de gallina- which was fantastic as well. Very very good restaurant and I highly recommend it for people looking to satisfy any Peruvian cravings.
For you alcohol lovers- I requested a Pisco sour which is a traditional "cocktail" in Peru. Apparently they will be getting some in next month (late June possibly?)- I recommend you try this too.
Overall- excellent food. Excellent price (according to US standards- I'm sure you can get the equivalent meal for 1/3 the price in Peru). I highly recommend it!
Cheers! -

This review is for the Japanese restaurant that (since a month ago) operates during the non-night club hours at Azukar.
This restaurant, in a word, is AWESOME! Food and service were both 5 stars (hence the rating); making Azukar-Japanese the BEST value in town that I've experienced in a long time. Don't be turned off by the "all-you-can-eat" promise from Azukar - this is not your typical all-you-can-eat buffet style restaurants that serve slop and a ton of it. Not those sushi all-you-can-eats that serve grade B, paper thin slices of fish on big chunks of rice and then requires you to eat the entire nigiri (all of the rice!) before ordering more. Azukar makes every dish fresh to order:
Appetizers - we were served miso soup, edamame and a trio of salads (cucumber, seaweed and a peanut slaw) as soon as we were seated. Then came the gyoza, sliced chicken katsu, shrimp and veggie tempura and chicken teriyaki.
Chef Specials - we automatically got every one of the specials they offered tonight (shown as "sides" on the lower right side of the menu): tuna poke on chips, seared tuna with jalapeno, seared tuna rolled around veggies, hamachi tataki. No filler rice, either!
Rolls and handrolls - the Scallop roll was delicious but my fave was the negitoro handroll (toro + scallions). Can you believe it? Toro?!? Would you ever expect to get toro at an all-you-can-eat?
Besides the quality food, the service was exceptional. They were attentive and consistently offered us the dishes they were most proud of - there was no holding back and definitely no skimping going on here.
This restaurant is a MUST try! You will not be disappointed. -

The place is okay. Better music downstairs in the basement...more top 40/hip hop. It's best to get there by 1030 because the line gets a little long. It's cool for hanging out, but I've been to better.
