Review from Katie W.
I went here with my mom, who previously had thought this was only a tortilla bakery and not a restaurant. But, we looked in the windows and saw a menu and decided it did look like a restaurant so we stopped to eat.
The menu was interesting - lots of good sounding items. It did not have the typical combination plates/lunch specials that you see at a lot of Mexican restaurants. The menu reminded me more of the menu at a food truck on the streets of LA - in a very, very good way. They had a few daily specials, one of which was a pork burrito that my mom ordered. I opted for the soft taco plate. The menu listed beef and chicken tacos but when I asked if I could just get veggie tacos, I was cheerfully accommodated.
We ordered out food at the counter and then sat down at a table where we were served water and ships and salsa. The chips were great as they were homemade and the salsa was nice and slightly kicky. It was a thin salsa, not the big, chunky pico-esque salsa and it had a nice flavor.
My mom's burrito was gargantuan in proportion and she really enjoyed it. I liked my tacos. I got two of them, each double-shelled so I could easily split them into four tacos. They had beans and rice on them (since I held off on the meat), tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. I added salsa. I also got beans and rice and the order was so big that I took home all the beans and rice and one whole taco. I really enjoyed my meal. My mom also took home about half of her burrito. For all the food we got, it was very cheap. I love cheap food! The homemade tortillas were very good, too.
I would definitely return here. It's a very casual place, with a friendly owner and staff, nice bathroom, good and cheap food, and lots of street parking. They do seem to draw a good-sized lunch crowd so you may have a little wait if you arrive at a peak lunch time.
