the place was almost empty (4 tables were sat) and we still had to wait almost 40 minutes before we got our food.. it was a Thursday night.. I'm hoping for them that it was just bad luck on our part and not the norm.. the food was so so.. I don't think I'll go back any time soon..

Azteca's claims to have real down home Mexican cooking. I have to disagree. I believe that the workers here are actually from Mexico, but it is clear from tasting the food that they have Americanized it to appeal to local nincompoops. That's not to say the food is bad. Americanized Mexican food can taste good, but just no where near that echelon of authentic Mexican food. I had the Itzcoatl Burrito which basically just has strips of meat, beans, salsa, and sour cream. Of course, it's hard for a steak burrito to not taste good, but I expect it to be great because real Mexican food is great. If you try this burrito and compare it to the food at Taqueria Mexicana (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), there is simply no comparison. The taco trucks handily win out against overpriced Mexican restaurants.
The interior of this place is cool, brimming with Mexican crafts. The service is actually very friendly too. But, I've had too many 5 star Mexican places to consider coming back here again. Kissimmee was supposed to be full of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans and so far I am disappointed that I have not found 1 authentic Puerto Rican or Mexican restaurant. It seems that East Orlando really is the best place for authentic Latin food in the area. -

I don't know what happened to this place.
I used to go here and the food was amazingly delicious. Then I went back one day and the food was disgusting. I think I had Mexican TV dinners from the dollar store that was better.
One lady said she was "a friend of the family, just helping" and she acted like a psycho to the staff and practically made a waitress cry who had done nothing wrong. My friend was trying to order and she wouldn't listen and pretty much ordered for her. Ended up bringing her the wrong food and was a total bitch about it when we wanted to return it to the kitchen and then my friend was given something even worse.
It looks adorable but beware the evil queen. Do yourself a favour and buy $40 dollars worth of Top Ramen instead. -

Good in a pinch, but so is Taco Bell. They do sell beer, a plus.... Mexican food is one of my favorite to eat. I won't eat here again.

Went after the remodel. Before it was very cozy, family style restaurant. After looks like a poor version of a chain restaurant. The place was empty. The new menu looked interesting but when I tried the tortillas soup I was very disappointed. Even the chips and salsa were bad. I would not recommend this restaurant!

NO, NO, NO don't go. Were from California and I was told to visit this restaurant and it was very bad and didn't seem clean at all. Sorry I hate given bad review but it you do want a good clean mexican restaurant we like Aztecas on obt this chain is from the west cost and they know their mexican food and if you want more of a family owned go to Cancun Cafe in saint cloud.

Oh this is lovely and cute mexican restaurant! We have visited an Azteca restaurant in Seattle and when in Orlando we saw an address of an Azteca restaurant on the GPS. We decided to go and couldn't find the place 'cause it is so small.........but when tasted the great food, we were convinced that it was worth it! The margaritas are great and the hospitality as well.
