DELICIOUS. That about sums it up.
I was at a family gathering and the hostesses ordered up some grub from Aztecas. I was delighted by the tasty food!
The steak tacos were served with cilantro and onions, no frills, which was perfect. The rice and beans were superior and most notably: THE GUAC! Oh. My. God. It was awesome.
This place is a must-try! -

I took Christopher here for lunch yesterday. He had the steak fajitas and I had the Albondigas. His fajitas were tasty, though most places I have had them have been served a bit more sizzling on the platter. My Albondigas were ok. The sauce was good, but the quality of the meatballs left something to be desired. It was not a spectacular meal, but certainly not bad either.
This time the service was a little spotty. We could have used a little more attention in a basically empty restaurant. Oh well.Listed in: Tacos for Everybody!

This is the absolute best little Mexican place on the north side!!
I cannot say enough about their food, especially the tacos! The only downside is that their uh-mazingly delicious Pozole is only made on Saturday and Sunday.
Their open really late (which is a fan-freaking-awesome thing) and they deliver, what more could you ask for.
I have had nothing but good experiences there, the prices are cheap and the customer service is really amazing.
If you are ever in the area, i highly recommend that you drop in!!
Try the Horchata, its a little piece of heaven..... -

Easily one of the best mexican restaurants on the north side. I used to work at the Jiffy Lube down the street during high school, and I would eat here at least two or three times a week. Food was cheap, quality was superb (The chile relleno tacos being my favorite menu item...). I came back to Chicago after college only to find that the place seemed to vanish. Very disappointing, but understandable considering the economic turn down. I just wish I knew if the family who owned it decided to move to another place nearby.

I only tried the pozole, so I can't vouch for any more of the food. The service was great and the place cozy. However I was underwhelmed with my pozole, am used to it being much thicker, this one was a little runny. Never had it with pork before either, and I'm not sure I liked the flavor. The server assured me that the pork didn't give the whole dish an overwhelming flavor, but I thought it did. Still on the hunt for the best place in the city for pozole.

Cheese whiz on Nacho Supreme?
Tortillas cut in a triangle shape for fajitas?
$40?
An hour for delivery of their rubbery food?
Yup. It is expensive. It is bad. It is bad for you. Stay away! -

Gee, I feel lousy giving them less than 5 stars, like the three prior reviewers have.....BUT, I'm searching for the best guac in the city and this wasn't it. VERY chunky, with lots of onions, avocado and tomato bits, but maybe some jicama, too? The main problem was that there was an over-abundance of cilantro. A little is fine, but if I have to constantly reach in my mouth, thinking I'm chewing a bit of paper only to find another big piece of cilantro....WTF? Not garlicky enough, either. Also had a Mexican hot chocolate, as I was freezing last night. Good, but not great, and left a weird residue on the sides of the cup, like the scum on top of scalded milk. Proprietor was very sweet and I will go back to try some of the other options.

my first chicago mexican...i was disappointed at first, coming from san diego where we got the best (si'mon!) and would have given it only 2 stars, but i guess it wasnt bad. my standard carne asada burrito came with lettuce, and sliced avocado. im not used to lettuce in my burrito unless its at taco bell, and instead of avocado im used to guacamole. no pico de gallo either...
this place was also more 'sit-down-ish' than the burrito joints im used to...just an observation. they were nice and courteous. -

I finally ventured outside of my Jesse's comfort zone and tried a new Mexican place. Not bad.... in fact delicious. I have a strange habit of always ordering tamales first and predicting the quality of the food based on my judgment. The tamales here are awesome, almost delicately fluffy with flavorful spiced meat inside. Although I ordered ground beef tacos I received chicken tacos and didn't even realize until my GF pointed it out, I didn't care because I liked them so much. Moist, fresh, and perfectly balanced, this might be my favorite all time taco, I'll have to go back to find out. I also decided to try my first mole on some chicken enchiladas with mixed results. It's a new flavor for me, but one I wish to experience again so I guess mission accomplished, they've got me going back for more.
