    Loved the salsa.

It's essentially fast-food Mexican so don't go in expecting anything less than a sloppy mess of refried beans, lettuce and what-not.

I judge these places by their salsa and it was pretty good. Not too much cilantro and seemed like fresh made.

I can't remember any longer what I had for lunch. It was typical fare.

Maybe I can't remember because of the strawberry margarita I drank sitting in the warm afternoon sun.

Hooboyzie, the Azteca margaritas pack a punch!

If you need a good shot in the guts with tequila, go here.

Yes the food is sloppy nasty hastily prepared Mexican-American fare but it is better than Taco Bell so shut your mouth.

I had a macho burrito (the burrito named after my most compelling quality) which I've had before here and I must confess it was disgusting. I asked for shredded beef. There were chunks of a whitish meat, not pork, not chicken, definitely not Bessy the Genetically Modified Angus. God knows what it was but it was gross.  I just hope whatever the lifeform was that gave it's flesh to fill my burrito it was not acquired at anyplace that said RESCUE or ANIMAL SHELTER on it.

Who cares? I was starving and got about half down and it stayed down and filled me up.  Fact is, the ONLY reason I ever hit the Azteca at the Spokane Valley Mall is to liquor up. OK KIDS YOU GO SHOP AND DADDY IS GOING TO UMM GO EAT CHIPS AND SALSA!

"Cadillac Margarita and keep em coming."

The service was interstellar fast yesterday. The bartender kicked ass as he gave me a shot of some wicked good yet internally combustible tequila along w my Cadillac 'rita.  So good.

Yeah, I had two Cadillac Margaritas served in Olympic sized swimming pools made of glass and rimmed with salt. ALWAYS ON THE ROCKS. "Ritas as frozen blends are for rubes, hillbillies, and cruise ship passengers.

Two of those monsters and you will eat half of a macho burrito stuffed with a MUO (Meat of Unknown Origin).

So what if my kids are grown up and never go to the mall with me. "Kids" are merely a device I employ at the mall to go drink at Azteca.

Line em up. Knock em down.

    Half Dig.

This is why I use Yelp, but unfortunately my battery was dead.  I get into town and ask a local where "good food" was.  "We gots a IHOP - that's real good.  Olive Garden has great garlic bread and Applebees is super!"  I want to go to a local place.

Not knowing that Azteca was a chain, I went in there and watched the Red Sox game.  Cheap beers.

I got the tacos.  I think they season the beef with lard, Crisco, butter and a generous portion of bacon grease.  Basically, go to Taco Bell and then just come here for a brew.

My friend Veronica and I were faced with a dilemma yesterday: wander around the Spokane Valley mall on a Saturday afternoon (shudder) or grab a margarita and some chips and salsa at Azteca. Not a difficult dilemma, mind you, but a dilemma nonetheless.

It was happy hour, which meant a $4 house margarita for me, and a $2 bud light for Vern. I should have gone for the bud light. I always trick myself into thinking 'I'm sure THIS place doesn't use a gallon of sickly sweet margarita mix in each drink." Note to self: they ALL do. Ick!

But the chips were hot and fresh, the salsa was decent, and the service was good. The bartender informed me, after looking at my ID, that I was exactly one day older than him. We bonded.

This place may have saved our souls from the horrors of the mall, but I probably wouldn't go rushing back.

Bad service, very rushed despite it being mostly empty. Food was on the low end of average, and they included tomatoes in my gf's meal despite her requesting no tomatoes because she is allergic to them. The food was also overpriced.
