This is one part of a very large chain, so the food is as good or as worse as any other in the area. My family has been going to this one since I was little and we've never had any complaints. It's consistently itself. The business block it's in includes a casino, bank, and some other restaurants. This Azteca is also right next to the I-5 exits for easy access.

As dorky as it sounds I really loved the whole fried icecream with whipped cream on your nose thing for birthdays when I was little.

This Azteca would have easily been a 4 star, three years or so ago.

My BFF and I went there for a late night bite after the gathering at the 'nof on Friday, and we seriously had a bad experience.  She ordered a small Nachos with chicken and cheese and I ordered chicken taquitos.
The food came out, and what used to be really great shredded chicken in the dishes was about 50 percent onions and 50 percent chicken.  I never remember there being onions in the chicken mixture, especially on the nachos. The nachos were a small portion (even for a small) and were burnt tasting.  My BFF ate maybe 3 chips and couldn't stomach them, so I split my taquitos with her (i had wanted the app portion from the bar menu but I was served the larger portion and charged full price for them. Not only that, but BFF was charged the same price for a Nachos Azteca as she did for just chips, chicken/onion, and cheese.)

Granted, it was 9:30 at night. Granted, it was karaoke night. But there's no excuse for crappy nachos. A monkey could make nachos.
The waitress also split our bills wrong, and we just figured the difference ourselves, but when she came back, she said she had noticed the bill was wrong and corrected it for us.  Which made me feel a little bit like maybe they were tryin to confuse us and rip us off!

I've never felt ripped off by an Azteca before tonight. The service and food has gone downhill.

Sorry, but I do not see a future visit to this particular Azz-crac-a ever again.
The Everett location is so much better!!

When I started a new job in Mountlake Terrace I thought that finding a decent place to eat lunch close by would be difficult. I didn't anticipate that finding time to eat lunch would be far more difficult. So when a co-worker said "let's go eat lunch at Azteca - it's a few blocks away and quick" I wasn't going to argue or debate the quality of the food. It's so nice to leave the building once in a while that McDonald's was beginning to sound good. In comparison, Azteca was excellent.

We were greeted in Spanish, seated right away, drinks brought out speedily and had ordered all in about 5 minutes. This was the point of leaving the work building. The food was fine. Is it the best Mexican food around? Of course not. Neither is it the worst. The chips and salsa hit the table when we did and were nice and warm. I liked the salsa a lot, because I'm a heat wimp and it was bordering on mild. The chicken carnitas was satisfying and the chicken was cooked well, not dry at all. The rice and beans are standard bland, nothing to write home about. My co-worker's camarones monterey made me wish I'd ordered that. Those were good shrimp. All in all, good for a quick, filling lunch of decent, edible Mexican food. If I wanted outstanding, I'd have accepted a job somewhere other than the strip mall wasteland of Mountlake Terrace. You win some, you lose some.

Azteca, hmm.. well, for Seattle Mexican, it's pretty good. The only good thing about living in California for years was the Mexican food, but it spoiled me.

This location is pretty standard. Clean, quick, yummy food, good service. I love the chips and salsa, the salsa is really great. Theres never a wait, food always comes pretty fast, the waiters are always refilling your drinks and attending to you. Standard Azteca prices, usually about $10-15/person depending.

We've never had a problem here and we've been quite a few times. We'll probably be back a bunch more.

This place used to be at least 4 1/2 stars with me, quick attentive friendly wait and host staff, but in recent months the kitchen has been a big disappointment.  Food was fine, my carnitas were charbroiled well, crisp on the outside yet still moist, the standards are done well, the problem is the speed at which the food comes out at.  I figure if we have to have our chips and salsa filled more than twice something is wrong with the kitchen.  Like I said, the favors are fine but in recent months the kitchen has slowed to impulse speed when it used to be warp factor 10!

Salsa was a bit strange the last time we when as well, no cilantro, only huge hunks of onion and tomato, something was missing.

Nice staff, okay food, margaritas are made well but the slow kitchen bugs me.

A lot of people don't like Azteca, but for what it is, I think it's pretty darn good.  It's not the best Mexican food ever, but I love it.  I've been to this location many times, beginning way back in my childhood.

There is very rarely a wait to be seated when we visit, our servers are prompt and attentive, and the food is excellent.  I love their table salsa - I wish they sold it in bottles, but I believe it is made fresh every day, so that isn't really possible.

I love their shredded beef tamales, their crisp beef tacos, and their chicken tostadas.  Their Arroz con Pollo is to DIE for; the sauce it comes with is both rich and delicious.  Their fajita sampler with chicken, steak, and shrimp is another favorite, but it's so much food I always have to split it with someone!

Overall, Azteca is a place I would probably recommend.  It's great for groups and parties and a fun place for kids as well.
