UPDATE: Oh Happy Day! Azteca Grill is open again. But where did all the good servers go? We used to have a cute Latino hipster waiter who totally rocked. But our server on Quatro de Mayo sucked big time. No drinks list, no chip refill. No bueno. I am tempted to remove a star.
Boooooo!!! This was such a great spot. Alas, it has fallen into restaurant oblivion and is no more. Azteca Grill closed its doors for good in December 2007. -

We ate here last night. The food was okay, the service was GREAT and there was no wait time (despite the long lines). But my biggest complaint? It was expensive Mexican food I could get at one of the local places. Man the prices were ridiculous. 15 bucks for a fish plate??? Maybe 9 bucks...

Okay, bar looked like a fun place for night life. Food was not great and was not what you would expect at a Mexican restaurant, I mean really egg plant Parmesan on the menu???????

Your average Mexican place. Good lunch special but I think the rest of the menu was a little pricy.

Love this place. Not your just your run of the mill Mexican food. (even though they have that too...) I keep coming back for dishes like the corn chowder and steak tampico (sp?).

Azteca is much more than your average mexican restaurant. Its menu is diverse featuring items like Shrimp Burritos with Lobster sauce and the always delicious Pablano Corn Chowder. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by the type of guacamole it serves. Typically, if it serves green paste and calls it guac then it's not very good. That being said, Azteca has some of the best chunky guacamole I've tasted.
