So I've been to Aziza's on Main a few times now and am actually embarrassed it's taken me so long to write about them. What a great little place! My girlfriend and I went there last night and had a delicious experience on their 'tapas night'. She ordered the mustard-crusted (?) arctic char, I got the margherita pie and we shared the gnocchi.

Although the seating space is snug - really snug - it is very warm and inviting. Our server (the owner's daughter) was delightful and entertaining as we could see how passionate she was about the food and overall experience.

Let me make this clear: Aziza's gnocchi is the best I have ever had. While I wouldn't say I'm some 'gnocchi conniseur', I have had it numerous times at many different restaurants. Theirs is soft (NOT chewy) and has this slight crunch to them, as Aziza's serves them pan-seared. Delicious.

My pizza, as always, was delectable. I'm a complete sucker for great crust, house-made sauce and fresh Bufala Mozz and basil. And a decent cab for $6/glass - I'm in.
So get your @ss out of Carytown / The Fan and head over there. But it gets crowded quickly, so don't go when I'm wanting to head there (kidding).

What a treat!  Table for three, seated immediately.  Hostess/waitress recommended the chef's tasting, and boy were we glad she did!  Five courses, each better than the last... plus dessert!  The chef even helped serve and introduced each course!  Fresh, succulent scallops, bacon, fish... coffee mayonnaise (delish!), celery root, mushrooms... unique flavors complimenting each delicious morsel.  Save room for the cream puff for dessert.  It's incredible!  Tin ceilings and exposed brick provided a warm, cozy atmosphere.  Service was exceptional, and I truly felt like the staff appreciated our business.  My only minor complaint is that the beer list isn't very long or varied.  Bon appetit!

Best pizza in this part of town (sorry, Sette) and maybe the city. The white pizza is amazing. The creme puffs are amazing.

I'm new to Richmond and amidst unpacking and moving found this neighborhood place while shopping in the attached pharmacy.  Walked in  to pick up some soap, and whoa!  there's an attached restaurant through some warehouse like sliding doors.  Everyone welcomed us to take a look around, so we came back for lunch later in the day.  Was surprised to find such well prepared Middle Eastern food.

Had stuffed grape leaves, meat and potatoes, yogurt sauce, Olive hummus, and a small pizza.  A nice selection of beers and wine as well.  I had the capers and anchovies pizza (comes with no cheese) so I added some Mozzarella to boot.  Really like this place.  Service was welcoming and I stretched for the Chocolate Puff dessert.  I'm normally not a dessert guy but this thing makes me want to come back for more.

4 Stars: The deli. Their flavored hummus is fantastic. Get a small tub and some pita and you may not leave the store before devouring it all. The cream puffs are fantastic as well. The lunch prepared later in the day is high quality as well.

3 Stars: Breakfast/brunch. My omelete was quite overdone, and the service was friendly but a bit slow. The menu itself is not particularly creative either.

(based on a Sunday Brunch experience)

Who doesn't love a classical guitar duet?  And it gets better when accompanied by light percussion (cajon).

Aziza's on Main has got to be one of the best brunch experiences we've had in Richmond.  Great ambiance, good service, and good food.  If only their food was a little more WoW, we would have given 4 stars.

For those who don't know pancetta, it's basically an open omelet.  While made well, by itself it doesn't set the menu apart.  The olive, feta, and spinach was quite good.

Our non Mediterranean background doesn't give us enough validation to judge the Lebanese cuisine, but suffice it to say, the hummus, grape leaves, chicken salad, and tabouleh were delicious.

OH, and a couple of words about the cream puffs.  GET THEM.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while.  Finally went with my girlfriend and had a wonderful time.

The place is small but has a great atmosphere for it.  The food was delicious.  We shared a root salad which our server explained was from their garden in the back.  We also shared two pizzas and they were delicious.  Not the best I've had in Richmond but a very delicious margarita pie indeed.  The drinks were reasonable and came in whimsical glasses which I can appreciate.

Wish I had room for a cream puff at the end.  Can't wait to try other menu options.

Mmmmm Aziza's pizza.  I'd heard that Stuzzi is better but I've tried both and I have to disagree.  The pizza with arugala is just awesome.  The restaurant is totally casual.  The person I was having dinner with ended up showing up almost 30 minutes late, but the staff at Aziza's seemed totally fine waiting, which meant it wasn't awkward at all.  Lastly, I was impressed with their generosity at the bar.  I couldn't decide on a wine, but my waitress generously poured me a small taster from each of their reds.

I've decided not to come here again after waiting for 40 minutes for a carry out pizza. First I tried to call in ahead of time and the phone line was busy for 20 minutes on a tuesday night at 5:40 pm, when they open at 5:30.  . When I arrived, the place was empty and they offered no explanation on why the phone line was
busy. I was curious so I called while i was at the restaurant and still busy but no one was on the phone!!  Then I had to wait 40 minutes for the pizza.  If I had known I had to wait this long, I wouldn't have ordered In the first place. For $15 for small pizza with skimping out on the ingredients, I've decided that this place is not worth my business, particularly if they can't handle small volume of customers at non-peak hours and on a week night. I only came here be this is the only thin pizza joint I know but the lack of service and indifference to customers has made them lose my business.

Another thing is that their pizza is tiny and expensive. Last  4 times I ordered here (always get the same thing) they are always out of sausage. If only they weren't conveniently located to my house!!!  That's it.  I also ordered to pick up every time and the pizza is never ready.  I'm over this place.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Everything about it, the food, the people, the service. I went it because I needed some pita bread for hummus I had bought at the grocery store and had forgotten pita bread, and I happened to notice this place, so I went in to inquire if they sold pita bread. They asked me where I got hummus from and asked me to try theirs. I did, and it was amazing. They gave me a little box of hummus and pita bread on the house for being a new customer. Awesome service. Since then I have gone back several times and everything I try there is amazing, from their stuffed grape leaves to pizza.

I love it here. Luckily it's in my neighborhood so I can come all the time. The staff knows good jokes and the pizza is ridiculous, you don't really need to look any farther if you have been wishing Richmond would get some edible za. Wood fired brick oven. And try the cream puff..... You'll say "wow"

Great Sunday brunch spot. Traditional Lebanese fare meets American brunch favorites with their selection of fritattas, salads and sandwiches.  Classic bloody mary's were great and can be amped up with a shrimp skewer for an additional $3 (see photo).  The home fries were so good, they almost upstaged the pancetta frittata which easily held its own. The spinach, feta and olive frittata was also good, just make sure you like olives if you're ordering it.  Southern chicken salad was also very well made, not overly heavy on the mayo and not overpowered by the pickle juice. I'm generally not a fan of chicken salad, but this was much better than any I've tasted.  All were served with a small green salad and 2 small slices of toasted bread. We were also impressed by the koosa (squash and rice) and the tomato salad with fresh basil, mint and extra virgin olive oil. To top it off, the $0.75 brownies were excellent and the creme puff did not disappoint and was promptly finished.

The staff was attentive but patient, and made us feel welcome even though we were eating a late brunch (2pm).

The atmosphere was great: exposed brick, lofted ceilings, etc. Only downside may be the music... Too much bass for a Sunday brunch spot, as some of the clientele like us were probably out a little too late the night before. Other than that, I highly recommend you give Aziza's a try.  This is a great alternative or even replacement for the overly crowded Millie's.

Sunday Brunch. Potatoes were very good but the crab and shrimp cake was not. Texture was rubbery and crab had a strange taste. Daughter had a pannini style ham and cheese that she said was very good. They did have an expresso machine but latte came in a Styrofoam cup. Coffee and pleasant server got the extra star.

We went for Saturday brunch.  Had a mushroom and cheese frittata and crab and shrimp griddle cakes.  Both were tasty and well-made.  The local greens and potatoes were delicious too.  Best cream puff we've ever had.  In addition to the eggs and other brunchy fare, you can order from the deli case, which has more traditionally Lebanese stuff.  Service was friendly and decor was new and fresh.  All in all, a really nice meal for a reasonable price.

Hummous and eggplant were good. Cous-cous was also, but could've used a little more kick.
